One thing you have to admire about watching the Boks play every game is a school day.
Its brilliant their development of the replacements , the game is not decided on who starts or 1st half but after 80 minutes. The impact of these guys has secured victory against a fantastic France team who also played at the highest level.
Feel humble watching the level of the play .
You should have far more likes than everyone else, because that is the essence of SB rugby now.
Honestly, after playing 29 years of rugby I was not aware a scrum was an option from a mark. Never seen it before. It worked well for SA, and could be a useful tool when your scrum is dominating.
Likewise brother and rugby in SA is so advanced that the chances of you playing with someone that made it pro is very high quite often and non the guys I've played with have pulled that move or spoke of it as an option.
Oh good m.not the only one. Been playing for 23 years
Did you not play Rugby 08 😂
What is Rugby 08? I played from 1988 to 2019. Could also be that I was a career tight head and can't say I've ever taken a high ball in the back field. @@davejordan267
It's a free kick. Why would it not be?
This guy has to be the greatest coach of all time
Aaaaag kak man
Sies.
His the real boss of that team
He's thr best indeed...we appreciate him as 🇿🇦
@@user-eb7wv5wt3j and who would you rate as better?
Rassie is the master Yoda of rugby, and not because his shirt is green. Congrats from France, well deserved victory. If the final pits you against the dark lords of the Pacific, I'll be behind the Boks.
Mate that was so dramatically put, “Dark lords of the pacific”😂👌. Thanks 🇿🇦🙏🏽
So poetic haha!
Merci! Appreciated xx
The psychology behind that was expertly explained by Rassie. Now it all makes sense why French kicks were shorter. Wow!
Some guys from England, now talk about rule change,it beats me that whenever we are innovative, just because we do things other nations don't do even though they are within the laws of rugby some English dudes talk about rule change , talk about jealousy, instead of learning the basic fundamentals of rugby,we may not win this WC, but we are good at rugby
As far as Rugby brains goes Rassie is up there with Dannie Craven, who was the absolute best of the best. And this from a old Kiwi who remembers the the 1970 tour and how Craven conned the All Blacks Coaching team into playing a style of running Rugby that suited his team of grand tacklers.
🤣"conned" today NZ run the footy, so South Africa taught NZ the running game you accuse us of not having then 👍👍👍
Danie Craven...
Indeed...
Eons ago...

Not enough has been said about the conversation charged down by kolbe. That was literally the point difference that won it for SA.
The power of neutralising dialogue.
It may not have gone thru
They missed a penalty as well which would've kept then ahead by 2
There were a lot of small special moments. Eben Etzerbeth intercepting France's final pass on the wing to prevent a try was also massive, and so was Pollard's kick from past half way. There was also French scrum that the boks won in their 22 that changed the momentum to favor the boks. France also fumbled alot of kicks. Like that punt that went backwards
Yeah he should of been MOTM!
Best coaching team ever innovative, dynamic, brutal and witty.
One of the basic tactical principles of rugby is to stop your opponent from playing the game they want to play. If France is kicking long at you in open play, they want you to kick it back in open play - so don't. Refuse the free kick and take the scrum to reset your team into the pattern you want. So simple, yet simply genius.
Lmao big boys who don't scrum a lot. Boks made them scrum more, that could actually explain the bit of Frances' psychological deficiency the more the Boks called them for scrums
France scrum went down after the complete front row of France had changed. Don't have the same depth as SA in the front row.
6 months later, still in awe at the call. Rassie is a fucking genius.
Rugby really is a game of Chess....I love it.
Well Rassie's a genuis...nuff said
Great move by the Boks. Blew my mind when I saw it. All sorts of genius going on. Theirs to lose now.
Rassie looks like he had a HEAVY night of celebrating 🤣
Humble response, we all know the strategy in that move, the French were confused at most
The scrum and the conversion charge down. Its like they gone back and read the rule book again ..and hay! lets try that.
Those Frenchmen were lying broken and exhausted all over the park
"Realy.😃😂😂😂🤣🤣
@@johndavid5618yes really
And if France won it would have been the boks lying all over the park. What should they do bro after losing an epic? Be humble in victory mate otherwise it will bite you
@@davidfife-nm7uyFrench were lying at around 70 minutes, looking tired. Fans are not being proud. This was just the effect of the massive springbok bench and depth. And I guess the extreme pace the French were playing the game at.
I felt gutted for the French. Boks have been there. But this is what makes you stronger. Build with it. Another 4 years to build.
That is brilliant … man is a tactical genius.. so France you don’t want to scrum against us? Okay we’ll make u scrum against us and use your long range tactical kicking game against you.. boks win penalty at the scrum making 40metres from penalty kick and their line out meanwhile france don’t kick long anymore… just incredible mindset of the man who leaves no stone unturned..
First time I ever seen someone call a scrum from the mark.
From now on, you'll see it more often...it started in 2007 but no one was brave enough to practice it
An impressive learning opportunity forost of us 🇿🇦🏆
Looks like Rassie celebrated the hardest! 🤣🤣🤣😍😍😍😍
Someone asked me how I think the game would go. I just said France has to deal with Rassie’s technical plans and that’s not an easy thing to do.
it felt like rugby was hacked after the new laws but russie after winning web Ellis was exploring on the new ideas but these guys are literally executing the plan and I'm telling you it's mind blowing and it suits the drama and atmosphere of world cup that is expected to have biggest Final ever
Rassie you the best buddy....your heart is where your treasure is.....🙌🏾✊🏾
"" France played a smashing. ❤️ 💪 💪
Tipsy Raassie
When Damian called that scrum I noticed the supporters of Les Bleus became worried😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Very intelligent!
Everyone was a bit confused by that call as if you get the scrum wrong then the opposition potentially get a penalty. In fact the Boks won a pen there but did not kick it out. I think the value of it was that - it made the Boks unpredictable. French would have been confused with that call. Rassie and the Boks certainly are the most innovative. How was Kolbe's drop attempt from the base of the scrum later on? Boks are a very sharp side. If the Rush defence gets taken out then watch out for the scramble...
The front pack had not scrummed much, was rested, and.....as it went Boks way..France did not want to kick that pattern nay longer
Rassie knew we wud tire them which we very dominant in that area i must say i did not see yhat one coming u have to be the best tech of all time
Who was it that said SA played "boring" rugby?
John Kirwan and when we beat NZ I want him to say that all day.
your mother said it brian

Brilliant😮
"It wasn’t to make a statement" … Yeah, but even unintentionally, it certainly did.
Was a good way to wind the clock down.
Should have done it again just after the 1st one happened. They did not and I think France scored a try from a poor clearance kick.
There were at least five major decisions that were not verified by video refereeing or that went seriously against us.
The voluntary forward to the wing yellow card and penalty
The transformation ; the player leaves before the first step of the backswing to counter the kicker.
A contest with a hand on the ground
Elbow forward contacts (x2)
A hand off to the face (fortunately open hand)
...... too much to hope to win.

It was genius!

Amazing.
Rassie is a genius!!
I agree with you 100% 🇿🇦🇿🇦
Absolutely!
STOP asking Questions about our Players Decisions.
Brilliant.
Why do you want to scrum in your own 22? At the 2019 world cup the Boks tried not to play in their third of the field, to lesson the risk.
You still have a better chance to keep the ball and use you best play by tiring them, which actually worked as they were no longer as fast towards the end
Horses for courses. Rassie explains exactly why they did it. France likes to kick long - into the 22. That gives the Boks (in the French mind) 2 options - a kick return for a French line out or defend and turn over from the 10m line. Rassie gave them a third option which they would never have planned for - a scrum against the head in the 22 which pulls all their players forward and even if SA kick after the scrum (second best option to a penalty) the all have to turn around and run back.
Great option, you keep possession and also if the opponents scrum is struggl, you might get a penalty
@@soda5730 thanks 🙏 for explaining the logic behind that call,it now makes Sense and the French weren't prepared for that,it made us unpredictable
@@soda5730 I think you this is the best explanation, I was hearing Rassie but not understanding the purpose, that be a surprise "3rd option" which they would have no response to. Rassie is really a genius, should go down as one of the best. How they selected Mannie over Pollard when everyone was crying for Pollard and in the end Manie starting actually worked out well.
Didn't know it was an option - but as soon as it was called, it was obvious why - turn a free kick into a penalty
Sooo Intelligent!
Rassie you just on the other kevel🎉🎉🎉🎉
That scrum turned everything around.
That we call it game
Being methodical at its best....Nonetheless...Still a boss move
Genius
Ha! Ha! Rassie is the best
Love it from NZ. You guys owe us for making us play in 95 when all the players were vomiting from food poisoning all morning before the final. It's payback time😄
That is just a conspiracy theory by a team that was looking for excuses. What is provable of course is your referee Brice Lawrance that made South Africa lose in the Semi-Final against Australia 2011 - so his precious All blacks did not have to face the Springboks in the Final 2011. It was so obvious that the 6 nations dropped in 2012. The Head of International referees said Lawrence had to be rehabilitated. And don't forget his daddy's email to an Australian Referee 'We much teach these Japies(South-Africans) a lesson'
There is actually footage of the match where he makes a call against South-Africa and the Kiwi announcer said 'He is a good New Zealander'
@@ejmproductions8198 the food poisoning is no conspiracy theory. They were all sick. The conspiracy is that someone poisoned them on purpose which hasn't been proven. The fact they were sick has been proven. Your conspiracy about the ref is a good one tho😆
@@firmfoundation7421 Every single point I make I can prove by print or by video footage, can you do that ?. The cheating kiwi was on display for the whole world to see.
Btw what is your opinion on Lawrence's dad saying 'We must teach these Japies a lesson' ?
@@ejmproductions8198 I'm actually just teasing. I'm so glad you guys dealt to the French. To be honest I'm very much aware the Boks can beat us if we make the final. It's going to be a hell of a fight. Either way I will always respect and fear the mighty Boks. Enjoy it and give those Poms a hiding please. As far as the comment teach those yappies I fully agree 😆
@@firmfoundation7421I'm 🇿🇦 , but I see sportsmanship's personality through your statement...you're not arguing or fighting...you just state your opinions
That call had the entire SA nation in a confused daze of anger, haha. The game was way too intense to still fool around with scrums from a mark.
ecstatic but have to ask, Faf's up n under in 80th minute handing possession , what was that ? someone pls explain
I know I nearly lost my mind when he did that
I was angry with him for doing that because the forwards were lining up to wind down the clock
Same. But I think it was a good call. Fatigue was kicking in and we could've easily got penalized for sealing off. Kick it away and trust our defensive system to win it. However, would've wished the kick was a little further.
Arron Smith did the exact same thing at the exact same time, in the NZ vs Ireland match, which very nearly result in a Irish victory.
He knew that the French would have to run the ball from theire own half and that would run the clock down
OK. So we can expect our future opposition to kick ‘short’ into the pocket (both Ireland and France did this) … but why do we (Springboks) not have an effective strategy to anticipate and effectively deal with this ?
(Note : our back line has not been able to effectively break through our opposition’s line - yet, our opposition has penetrated our defences on numerous occasions.
I wonder if the coaching staff have identified this ?)
But most of our (SA) tries come through the line ...
Pep Guardiola of Rugby
Rassie’s the GOAT 😁

Saluit to rassie team and all involved, but that was a bad desition aswell and the tap penalty was good but pathetic trick or rxecution nearly lost the penalty...also reinach and some subs was replace to early ML with pollard was spoton....i dont complain only saying...but saluit ...🤳💪
Rassie reads between the lines...🇿🇦
When you've got a ref only giving penalties to one team and doing everything to avoid France in the final against his country, why won't you call a scrum
Explain how tu suck a refree
The rule should be changed as soon as this week. The last thing the game needs is to be slowed down and burn the clock more.
Well said.
Whenever the boks come up with innovations that makes us win,you guys always talk about rule change , dudes,we might not win this WC,but please learn from us because rugby is in our DNA,us and are like the Brazil and Argentina of 🏉 rugby, just come to SA and learn rugby and stop being jealous of our knowledge for rugby
@@sabelonxosi7336
😂 it’s not innovation. Anyone that thinks it’s innovation is delusional. From the time he caught the ball to the time the scrum was set and a penalty awarded 90+ seconds went off the clock.
@@bennwaters5851 who won in the end, instead of learning, you are filled with jealousy and rage whenever boks win, why don't you talk about rules change when AB win?stop being sore losers, funnily enough the things we do that you demand rule change, you later do them.
