One thing you have to admire about watching the Boks play every game is a school day.
Its brilliant their development of the replacements , the game is not decided on who starts or 1st half but after 80 minutes. The impact of these guys has secured victory against a fantastic France team who also played at the highest level.
Feel humble watching the level of the play .

Honestly, after playing 29 years of rugby I was not aware a scrum was an option from a mark. Never seen it before. It worked well for SA, and could be a useful tool when your scrum is dominating.

Likewise brother and rugby in SA is so advanced that the chances of you playing with someone that made it pro is very high quite often and non the guys I've played with have pulled that move or spoke of it as an option.

As far as Rugby brains goes Rassie is up there with Dannie Craven, who was the absolute best of the best. And this from a old Kiwi who remembers the the 1970 tour and how Craven conned the All Blacks Coaching team into playing a style of running Rugby that suited his team of grand tacklers.

There were a lot of small special moments. Eben Etzerbeth intercepting France's final pass on the wing to prevent a try was also massive, and so was Pollard's kick from past half way. There was also French scrum that the boks won in their 22 that changed the momentum to favor the boks. France also fumbled alot of kicks. Like that punt that went backwards

One of the basic tactical principles of rugby is to stop your opponent from playing the game they want to play. If France is kicking long at you in open play, they want you to kick it back in open play - so don't. Refuse the free kick and take the scrum to reset your team into the pattern you want. So simple, yet simply genius.

Everyone was a bit confused by that call as if you get the scrum wrong then the opposition potentially get a penalty. In fact the Boks won a pen there but did not kick it out. I think the value of it was that - it made the Boks unpredictable. French would have been confused with that call. Rassie and the Boks certainly are the most innovative. How was Kolbe's drop attempt from the base of the scrum later on? Boks are a very sharp side. If the Rush defence gets taken out then watch out for the scramble...

The voluntary forward to the wing yellow card and penalty
The transformation ; the player leaves before the first step of the backswing to counter the kicker.

Horses for courses. Rassie explains exactly why they did it. France likes to kick long - into the 22. That gives the Boks (in the French mind) 2 options - a kick return for a French line out or defend and turn over from the 10m line. Rassie gave them a third option which they would never have planned for - a scrum against the head in the 22 which pulls all their players forward and even if SA kick after the scrum (second best option to a penalty) the all have to turn around and run back.

When you've got a ref only giving penalties to one team and doing everything to avoid France in the final against his country, why won't you call a scrum

The rule should be changed as soon as this week. The last thing the game needs is to be slowed down and burn the clock more.

Whenever the boks come up with innovations that makes us win,you guys always talk about rule change , dudes,we might not win this WC,but please learn from us because rugby is in our DNA,us and are like the Brazil and Argentina of 🏉 rugby, just come to SA and learn rugby and stop being jealous of our knowledge for rugby

😂 it’s not innovation. Anyone that thinks it’s innovation is delusional. From the time he caught the ball to the time the scrum was set and a penalty awarded 90+ seconds went off the clock.
