I fly the A330-200 and A330-300's. My second flight to New York from Amsterdam with athe KLM was with a A330-300. Never forget that my parents were sitting in the plane too. Sully is a hell of a pilot. I need to learn from this man.
Everyone is saying Capt sully is the hero. I agree to that but without the first officer, this safe landing wouldnt have happen also. the last person to leave the cockpit was the officer as it was his job to shut down all the hydarulic system and engine to make sure the passenger is safe. But both of them is my hero!
while it's true the flight crew worked as a team.. i'm pretty sure the engines had already shut down and hydraulics were out ..stand by control power is provided by the auxiliary unit that's deployed from the fuselage in normal operations engine and avionics shutdown are done before anyone in the aircraft deplanes..and is done by a checklist with both pilots..cabin personnel have their own as well
The engines had stopped functioning due to ingesting Canadian geese, so how was he supposed to "shut down" the engines? They were already dead, hence the reason he had to....ya know....land on a river? And Sully was the last man off the plane in this situation. He's said so himself. Not to discredit First Officer Skiles. It was team effort that contributed to the successful outcome.
TAShannon1 that's funny. news have to edit sounds too. it's like everything on the television has to have movie like sounds.... all cuz our technology in HDTV. now it's a competitive news market. sad
My daughter has been a flight attendant for almost 20 years and there's not a flight that goes by that I don't worry about her and I don't sleep well and no I don't fly I can fly free I could care less I have a few times but it was strictly an emergency and they had to sedate me so no thank you I go by our van that's my way of traveling I have a nice RV I have a five-star hotel on Wells and I go wherever I want to and sometimes she goes with me a lot of times she does when she's not flying she's quite the wonderer, I'm really surprised she didn't get her pilot's license but it is what it is. But now she's in her element May her mom know I don't nope you guys can have it all to yourself you don't have to worry about me taking your seat it ain't happening.
oh not to mention I was married to a pilot he was a corporate pilot and he talks line he had a flying school he convinced me to go on one flight with him and that was the last the first and the last.
I’d like to meet all the aeronautical and electrical engineers and technicians who NEVER get any credit for their decades of HARD WORK in inventing and designing and building and maintaining Military and Commercial Aircraft, so we can quit exalting pilots as some kind of gods.
That's assuming you're going balls to the wall, flight school full time and flying almost every day. It's typically 40-50 hours to solo and a similar time (including cross country) to get signed off by your instructor for the FAA check ride.
There is no Robin Rene Roberts listed in the FAA registry. With her medical condition it might be a challenge to obtain a third class medical. And average time to solo is around 15 hours with 60 hours being the average to obtain a private pilot certificate.
Where is stupid America with its goofy superheroes Sully? She has some freakin' fancy and ridiculous figures, but the kids don't know the real superhero, or more accurately, her thousands of superheroes?
A TRUE American hero! Wow... so inspired by Capt. Sully.
His voice is so powerful! True Hero!
Your right all mom's cry because there so proud of there son's. You are a man of great integrity. And Robin your a beautiful person ❤️
My neighbor is a retired airline pilot. When he comes over and I see an ear to ear grin I know he will say Guess what I did today?,,,, I went flying.

Great story from both of you thank you!
Sully's first flight - Saturday June 3rd 1967 was 45 years ago TODAY! Cool.

He is my hero!

Creative sound editing. Television production is full of it.
Wow! what a privilege Robin had!!
pilot sully is best best pilot I love you so much
He's got to be getting sick of talking about this flight.
yes, no one ever asks about the thousands of flights that went well.
I bet
I love sully and skiles
He is my hero... Hero on the Hudson, (SALUTION)
beautiful video
I agree. they should both get equal credit. But Sully's the one who walked through the entire cabin twice to make sure every single passenger was off.
if Sully said he was going to fly a brick I would by that ticket
Michael Neely 😂😂😂 so true
Michael Neely lol awesome
He did, he flew F-4s
@@Twest130 best reply in UA-cam history. She’s the true definition of a brick can fly if you have enough thrust. Lol
Ohh he was a cutie when younger 😁. He is still a cutie. He has a gentle face.
So fantastic
"its almost like he used the river as a runway"...no it is like he the river as a runway
I would imagine there is no topping this.
After children.....I can't think of anything to top it
Love from India .....!
My mom was my first passenger as well.
Well done
Nice video...the shots n videos are bad ass...
then bam !!! sully screams not a fucking again, damn birds !!! lmfao
haha lol media...figures.... the airplane noises at 1:18 were completely fake. It's a turbine king-air not a piston powered single engine plane
TAShannon1 that's funny. news have to edit sounds too. it's like everything on the television has to have movie like sounds.... all cuz our technology in HDTV. now it's a competitive news market. sad
1:07 was gud
An airbus turned into a 60 ton skiff...Guts...
Great!!!
Ive been saving up to buy a cessna 172 to start flight training all the way to commercial
Hi! It's late 2019 now, Robin did you get your pilot's license yet?
Is she pilot now? :D
i love his king air 250
my neighbour is local grocer
Forget about buying the C172, save your money, and put it to good use upgrading your proficiencies.
Panorama Flight Service, KHPN is still around and so is Performance Flight, KHPN.
The sound on a turboprop is not the one the video shows when they flight over the San Francisco bridge. .
yEs It Is
Yeah, I noticed the recip sound, but near the end they switched to the turbine noise.
2:57 : that's not what a King Air sounds like at all. That's a piston engine!
How about a follow up? Did Robin ever get her license?
1:53/ 1:54
YOU DONT SAY?
Jeffery skiles was there too
A pilots pilot!!!!
I have tears...
this video is 7 + years old did robin ever learn to fly?
Not a bad guy to go flying with I guess
Wouldn't it be nice to joy ride down low in a King Air 200...... No one will miss those 100 gallons of Jet-A
Take off Livermore airport and bay tour👍🤣
who is paying for that King Air?
ABC News? Just a guess. As well as extra for accepting to be interviewed.

"Should have said no".
Hi guys
I’d like to meet all the aeronautical and electrical engineers and technicians who NEVER get any credit for their decades of HARD WORK in inventing and designing and building and maintaining Military and Commercial Aircraft, so we can quit exalting pilots as some kind of gods.
I was on cactus 1549
cookie?
Did Robin Roberts ever get her license or did cancer get in the way? If it did Robin, remember what Sully said, "follow your dreams."
It only takes on average 6 - 8 weeks to get a standard pilot licence
That's assuming you're going balls to the wall, flight school full time and flying almost every day. It's typically 40-50 hours to solo and a similar time (including cross country) to get signed off by your instructor for the FAA check ride.
So, in other words, no one knows if she got her license.
google it....its public record
There is no Robin Rene Roberts listed in the FAA registry. With her medical condition it might be a challenge to obtain a third class medical. And average time to solo is around 15 hours with 60 hours being the average to obtain a private pilot certificate.
wow sully got his own king air, alright
Where is stupid America with its goofy superheroes Sully? She has some freakin' fancy and ridiculous figures, but the kids don't know the real superhero, or more accurately, her thousands of superheroes?
Nothing like watching these over-paid, over-indulged tv personalities being even more catered to..Yay Captain Sully.
if you think america is great, think again
Somewhere there's a village missing an idiot, get back to your village.
Awwwww how lame. I’m sure she really wanted to fly with Sully since she was a little girl.
