    Great tips ! Trying to clean glass once it gets dark and cold is the most miserable I think, I’ll have to idle the vehicle with defrost on to be able to do a proper job.

    I highly recommend a dry steamer for those who are in areas that tend to work in very cold areas , there are many options , for me as mentioned before I strictly clean using a Fortador Pro max 4 in 1 unit , allows my to do everything using 1 unit except polish of course. I tend to layer my cloths with merino wool base layer , and my fave the timberland Pro insulated bib overalls , also little hotties are great you just put them in your gloves and shoes and they heat up .( never leave your chemicals in your van if you get freezing Temps your product may freeze and separate or worse break the containers, what i did was keep all my chemicals in a coleman insulted chests ,Vancouver bc the weather was aweful in the winter I also would bring 2 pop up canopies with walls. Now that I have moved I do not have to worry as much about the cold . But now I strictly use Fortador machines and products , regulations are very strict

      @topstardetailing I really enjoy your channel , and you have some great ideas , I been detailing since 87 and have my IDA certification but still have learned so different ways to get the job done , I find it is always best to be open to learn new things from everyone in the business. So thank you and others who have taken the time to help others . I still highly recommend having your IDA certification (in class studies and training ) but it is not a must when people like yourself care to help others learn .I would like to recommend some future talking points , mainly about your initial start up basics , minimum equipment , the do's and don't when dealing with your first clients, covering your butt by getting the proper insurance, business license, bylaws , making sure you take pictures of any previous damages and have a pre inspection form and not them on the form and have the client sign it , i usually use my ipad for that so i just email them the signed inspection report.

    The other thing not mentioned is that the spray on, rinse off sealants do not behave the same when first applied. They dont have the same beading characteristics until they "cure" over the course of a day or two.

    Very clever suggestions! I’m just a DIYer who lives in DC suburbs. My sons still live at home so we have 5 cars. I have a garage, so I mainly use rinseless washes and focus on interiors. Biggest challenge is salt and sand accumulation. Got some extra toys to deal with that issue this winter. Undercarriage sprayer and pressure washer that can draw water from a bucket. Do you include undercarriage and wheel well detailing with any of your packages? Or do you wait until spring?

    • @topstardetailing
      @topstardetailing  День тому

      @@joeskibinski4153 I include wheel wells, but not much demand for undercarriage cleaning out here in Vegas… we don’t get snow or road salt and it only rains a handful of days per year.

    Hey Jeff, how do you fill up your tank with distilled water? I've heard some people just fill it up at the self serve car wash. Is that how you do it? Do I even need distilled water?

    • @topstardetailing
      @topstardetailing  День тому +2

      @@DaeDetailiing there are some places that sell spot free water and you buy tokens like $20 for 5 tokens and each token gets you 60 gallons of water.
      Depends on the water quality where you’re at… here in Vegas the water is terrible and will leave hard water stains if you use tap water.
      As a professional charging customers money for detailing I would recommend using spot free water 💦
