We have been missing a lot of the fun factor in G1 MP as of late (MMC is an exception), so it is good to see a company embrace effective engineering once again.
That didn't take long for masterpiece sideswipe to come out, and the engineering's fantastic. I love how the backpack tucks away, and the legs aren't hollow
Robot mode on this looks amazing and the transformation looks straight forward and relatively simple. Takara still wins for the car mode, but this version of Sideswipe is better in every other way.
I’ve been waiting for this one almost an entire year. The engineering and quality appears overall great. I only wish the rear and lights region, was a little more accurate to the iconic Lambo. Might have to do some custom painting on my copy when it arrives.

It looks much better than the MP (Dare I say potentially better than if MMC did it), but those clear plastic parts on the backpack with the pins... Those kind of worry me...
the robot mode for this version of Sodeswipe is much cleaner especially at the back. They pretty much solved it.. More compact and clean to see the back area as robot mode. Looking forward to have this figure for myself 😊
I like that the engineering shows that there is still a bit of car in the design of the robot mode and ESPECIALLY that it has not given in to the ease of a gigantic backpack.
Hmm, no idea this was coming. I have both the original MP and the BadCube version, this also has the compressing chest which is good but can't decide if it's necessarily better enough in form or function to upgrade. Hopefully someone will do a new comparison vid. Vehicle mode on this is a weak point for sure, with that rear wing hinge in the middle and all the missing colors / highlights.
Looks fantastic, just bummed the shoulder cannon isn't part of the transformation, though also don't like the wrist flippers this thing has. I definitely feel like those could have easily been tucked away.
The engineering and proportions on this are definitely better than the MP Sideswipe, though I would much rather a simpler transformation that matches the diaclone. Start with a real-world car, with pop-up headlights. Then, have the arms be at the doors, with the doors hanging off the arms, but otherwise have the cartoon arms there. Have the windows fold in if you want. Fold the chest down, and if you want, have it compress inward (not necessary for me, but might be better for proportions) rather than swing around on two hinges to preserve the old transformation. Have the legs accordion out like Dragstrip does, and maybe have the feet swing out from between the legs to preserve the back of the car and the spoiler at the bottom. This way you can recreate the MTMTE roll-call transformation.
Good stuff here, though there are some things I'm disappointed by: -Sculpt-breaking thigh swivel -Door area not broken up by real-life door lines. -Doors don't end up on arms. -Chest could have been a *little* wider. -The hood - the exact section that actually opens on the real car - has a lot of cuts. I bet they could have used a single solid hood piece that swaps with a smaller one instead of carving it up like that. -Blue colored transparent sections, as others have mentioned. On that last note, I think I'll wait for a redeco of this with blank tinted windows and clear headlights.

This is the first time that a model with a small bonnet has been designed amazing😊

おそらく３年以上前？の名作、BADCUBE OTS-13 STEAMROLLもロボットモードで胸部幅を詰めるようになってたけど、その点もきっちり踏襲してるしね
さすが古豪のDX9、久々だけど購入予約しました。
今後のラインナップにあるD18（ストリーク）も期待できそうですね。

Transformation looks intuitive and elegant and not overly complicated. My only criticism is the wheels and tyres are too off-roadie.

Sideswipe looks better in vehicle mode, but Sunstreaker still looks better overall.

Wish the feet were white instead of silver but looks fantastic either way. Can't wait for it to ship
