Of note... the day Derek Jeter collected his 3,000th hit, he also had his 2,999th; 3,001st; 3,002nd; and 3,003rd. He went 5-for-5 and was a huge part of why the Yankees won that game.
And the go ahead hit in the 8th. Legendary.
Jeter was not only a HOF player but he was classy...never had off field issues and was never embroiled in controversy...one of the best all time Yankee Captains.
It will take a couple of years until Jeter is eligible for Hall Of Name . Just wait. His Number will be retired soon. Mariano Rivera's number retired. Don't worry.
+Michael Juarez Marinino(RIP spelling) number is already kinda retired by all of baseball
Hi
Well Steinbrenner thought he partied to much, clubs, bars and stuff, but there is no doubt in my mind that he will be the first player elected to the HOF with 100% of all the votes..... They even made a commercial about how Steinbrenner thought he partied too much... Still, one of the greatest of all times!.... Between him and Mo, one of them will get the first 100% of the vote to get in to the HOF
I think the only mistake he made was letting Minka Kelly go. She is a fine piece of ass.
Derek Jeter was heart and soul of NY Yankees for 20 years.thanks for the memories
coming from a kid raised in Orioles territory, i’m supposed to despise the Yankees. but, fan or not- everyone should give this man some respect. just look at that arm. i mean, he’s just sooo good! his career was something i’m glad I at least got to witness for the last couple years.
Derek Jeter = Class Act. He will be hard to replace. There will never be another one like him. Good Luck Derek we will miss you very much.
Out of all of the Yankee greats, ones that I've read about, heard stories about, never got to see because I was born too late...
Jeter stands among them, equal in legendary stature among the likes of The Babe, Joe D, and The Mick,
And I consider it a privilege to have existed in a time and place where I can watch Derek Jeter play, then tell all of the stories to my kids, and the future generations after them.
I don't compare him to Ruth or Gehrig because ones career was cut short and one didn't take care of himself yet he basically created all the record that people tried to break. Jeter in my opinion is comparable to Maris and Mantle though, maybe even DiMaggio. Jeter is nonetheless the best player I've seen and it's a privilege to have seen him. Sad to him go.
Good points made there, but the name Jeter alone stands along with all of them. The comparison to DiMaggio is spot on in the way he carried himself on the field... Off the field Jeter is way more approachable then Joe D was.
Joseph Halliday
Jeter does not stand among Babe Ruth, Joe D, or Mickey Mantle, or Gehrig, in pure baseball terms.
I was born in 1971 and been a Yankee fan since since 1974. My great uncle was a batboy for the Yankees from 1926-1929....
I love Jeter with all my heart....he will always be my favorite player of the past 30 years.
But in simple baseball terms, he was not as good as Babe, Mantle, Gehrig or Joe D.
I love Jeter for being a great captain, a solid role model, and a great Yankee, who never let the team down.
I love Jeter the way I loved Mattingly and Thurman Munson....great players who would do anything for the team. Deserving of all the accolades, but not quite as legendary as the Yankees' Big 4, in pure baseball terms.
There is simply no way you can Put Jeter alongside Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and DiMAggio, statistically speaking, in baseball terms....even as a Yankee fan.
He is equal to me in stature in terms of love, admiration and respect i have for him, but in purely baseball terms, he is not equal in stature to them.
I don't think Jeter is a top ten yankee great, and certainly not in the top 100 of all time MLB players. The name Jeter is great, but I think Maris and Mantle are bigger than Jeter. Lets just be honest, Ruth is the single greatest and nobody can be compared to him and behind Ruth can come Gehrig or even Honus Wagner.

Man Derek Jeter watching the yankees just won't be the same without you. Thank you for being my Idol since childhood. You are truly the best!!
Career Highlights 20 minutes, Jeters a beast!!!! this is coming from a red sox fan 2
Thank u Nd thank captain
I love Derek. Almost twenty years I have followed his career. Thanks for the memories Mr. JETER!
Just an amazing , professional, class act, and old school player of the game.
I remember in 1994 i met Derek Jeter in New York City when he was just a kid and i told him that he will be a legend when his time is up. And now he is retiring a damn legend. Crazy how this world works
Derek Jeter woooww forget the hits the great plays the homers overall what a tremendous human being . Derek you will def be missed . A true BRONX legend ...
Coming from a Red Sox fan. Derek jeter is one of the most respectable plays of all time. The shovel throw that he did against Oakland may be the most clutch defensive play in a playoff game ever.
I am a huge baseball fan and I have been watching baseball for a very long time. Ever since Derek Jeter retired, i haven’t felt that same spark since Jeters last game. Miss u derek
It's hard to watch this video without wanting to cry what a great player!!!!
The Giambi play was the biggest of his career because so much was at stake. It was game 3 of the LDS and the A's were up 2 games to none, The Yanks had the lead at the time but it was only a 1 run lead so if Giambi scores there its a momentum changer and the Yanks might not make it to one of the best world series I have ever seen (even tho they lost) Only a truly great player makes a play like that, how many shortstops have the presence of mind to be where he was to even make the flip? Not many.
Not even a Yankees fan... but "The Flip" will always be my favorite. Jeter was just doing his job, being exactly where he was supposed to be. And made one of the greatest plays of all time.
The most respected Yankee in recent memory, if not of all time. Thanks for the memories, Derek!
I love that ending... "[Enter text here]"
Whoops. That shouldn't be there.
Colin Fitzgerald yea i know... just joking around :) if anything i love this video because of a bunch of reasons... one being that derek jeter is my favorite player on my favorite team
C Murano l,,kkkkmjnnhNj
C Murano me to
Considering I’m a Red Sox fan, Jeter is one of my favorite players ever. Class act, humble, etc. there’s literally nothing you can hate about the guy. He’s one of the GOATS, and the league will never see another player, on and off the field as great as Jeter ever again, period. I’ll miss you Jeter.
Retire this mans NUMBER! its been a pleasure short stop
Derek Jeter will always be Mr. November to me.
I wasn't watching baseball that much in 2014 to see Derek Jeter play his last game. I miss him.
The flip play is one of the most amazing plays I have ever seen. No reason for him to be there, but like always, he was and he makes an insane play. Was so mad watching live on TV when I saw the bad throw and then he just flew in.
nice video ; it's crazy ive been watching this dude from the beginning...I've seen the whole jeter era ; 20 yrs seems unreal
I miss watching Derek 😢
"Der-EK Jee-Tuh Numbaa Twooo!!" was just simply Amazing 2 have the privilege of watching. 👍 💯
As a redsox fan, Jeter is up there as one of my favorites
not a fan of the Yankees but Jeter is probably one of the greatest players to ever pick up a baseball. always did his 100% best every game and he did it in class up till the very last game. Lots of respect for that man
Truly one of the all time franchise bests..A class act, a leader and a warrior..he deserved better than the last few years crappy teams..I am glad he had a great sendoff, but he deserved better..this Yankee team SUCKS now and they turn my stomach as to how bad they are after all those great seasons..
Stop being a fair weather fan...they're rebuilding...they will be a force yet again in 2 years.
I started watching this video at 11:40 at night and by the 12 am tomorrow I'll be in tears.
So many great years of baseball. I miss those days so much.
Jeter just had that "it" factor. Just a special player who came through when one needed to come through. Will never be another like him.
10:39 "pure hustle pure guts I gotta make the play" When it was time to play, The Man Played Period.
Derek JETER. 2. the Michael Jordan of baseball
Team of the century! Congrats NY
Markus Barnett More like the Kobe of baseball, Babe Ruth the Michael Jordan of baseball
Jeter, and Rivera are the greatest MLB players who ever lived. Jeter is the greatest Shortstop player to ever lived
Ha, thats laughable. Jeter and Rivera are most certainly not the greatest MLB players who ever lived. I will start with these names, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Willie Stargel, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, Walter Johnson, Ted Williams, WIllie Mays, Stan Musial, Ty Cobb. I can keep going to prove my point but that would take up many lines.. I actually can prove that Jeter is not even a top ten greatest yankee and certainly not in the top 100 greatest players in history. Also, Honus Wagner is the greatest shortstop to have ever lived..... I suggest you read more books outside of the Yankee organization and read about more players players old and new.
Wrong, Babe Ruth is the Greatest Yankee ever and then comes Lou Gehrig and probably ten more yankees before Jeter can be mentioned.
The glory years....loved it. I was at wells perfect in 98!
Greatest Player of My time and
06:41
proves it. I can watch this play over and over and over again.
Derek Jeter is my all time favorite player in baseball . That's why I ware number 2 when I play softball . When I grow up I what to be as good as him.
Jeter was fun to watch no matter where u are or what team u support
I've watched the Yankees 5 times. Jeter only played in one of those games... :(
but I did meet him when he was shopping lol
love this vid love jeter one of the best jst didn't know why u couldn't put more of jeter making bad ass plays n less of the world series that the TEAM won. takes the focus off of jeter n more on the TEAM jst a bit.
Honestly how can anyone dislike this video.
+LikeThis LikeThat lol
+Reece Thomas or red soxs fans
Or every team that Derek and the Yankees eliminated in the world series
9:54 "It's Take Home a Shortstop Night here at Yankee Stadium."
So glad i Lived to see this happening in real time.. classic memories
Thank you it makes me so sad to know that it is all over❤️
can't hate Jeter.
Though a great highlight reel. “Career Highlights?” Is a misnomer. More like post season & milestone highlights...along with every last out and celebration of World Series wins of the Jeter era. Not that they aren’t great. In fact two of those plays, his headlong dive into the seats and his picking up the missed cut off, to put Jeremy Giambi out at the plate. Those, to me are two plays that made everyone who witnessed it, gasp while our collective minds were blown! And if we were being honest. 20 mins. is kind of an insult. He made the incredible his norm. His list of career highlights would be enormous. He’d do something amazing 3 out of 4 games, whether in the field or with a bat. I’m not a Yankees fan...at all. But I am a fan of baseball so I’m a Jeter fan. In the era of look at me, hubris and over inflated egos. Derek is a class act, who played balls to the wall, with integrity and humility. It will be awhile before someone fills those shoes..if ever!
Greatest Yankee of ALL TIME.
John Stjohn Sorry, but the names Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and DiMaggio come to mind.
hadmiar8
Fuck Ruth.
One of them but not THE best.
Really john
Konner Forbis
Yes really. Fuck Ruth.
The Yankees will never be the same Derek #THANKSFORALLTHEMEMORIES
Good video thanks for sharing
We all know we Jeter steped up to the plateau was a career highlight every time
If you like this video, check out my video on Derek Jeter's final game at Yankee Stadium. It includes all his highlights from that game, including his walk-off single.
Derek Jeter's Final Game at Yankee Stadium
How do you see it
looks like you need to update it some after tonight, his last game
I've got another video coming out for his final game at Yankee Stadium
Unfortunately, my new video was blocked in the US. I am trying to edit it so it will be available, so stay tuned.
Would've been awesome if Damon and Matsui where there.
Nice job at the Derek Jeter video.
That swing.... incredibly unorthodox but led to being an all-time great. Not just a Yankee - in baseball period. Re2pect
2:05 will always go down as one of the most freak of nature athletic plays ever... in any sport.
Derek is my favorite player
You should add him passing Lou Gehrig's All-Time Yankees hits record (hit number 2,722) not just at The Stadium. You should also add his final at-bat at Yankee Stadium and his final career at-bat.
It's funny; I'm a Bostonian, and the clips before 04 of the Yankees winning the World Series made me made, the ones after I was ah whatever.
Jeter's a 1 of a kind talent. Anybody competing with Lou Gehrig for records has to be placed in that pantheon of greats.
Mr.November can really put on a show
It saddens me that the greatest shortstop to ever play the game only has a 20 minute highlight reel. #RE2PECT
I LOVE HIM HE WAS THE BEST YANKEE CAPTAIN IN THE WORLD AND NOBODY CAN DO WHAT HE DOES BEST
blessed to have met the guy while he was shopping
My favorite Yankee of all time. Playing in NY is probably the hardest thing to do but he WON and won BIG ! Top all that off he retired as a YANKEE #2 never be worn again, that's why they call Derek Jeterr " DaCAPTAIN "
I became a Yankees fan in 1999 because of Derek Jeter.
great video!!
Arguably the BEST EVER!
In Bob Shepards Voice, and now batting for the new york yankees number 2 Derek Jeter, Number 2.
13:15....the announcer is totally wrong when he said 1,270 hits surpassed Gehrig. Lou Gherig had 2,721 career hits
He was the GOAT of baseball. RE2PECT
He was old school played with class like the old Yankees, no bs, just good baseball.
I think this video needs to be revised add in some of the moments from his last season.
when NY Yankees won it all in 2009,l was at a bar with former Radio City coworkers going nuts.
Best shortstop of all time
I wish the Yankees still had Derek Jeter
Greatest ever!!!
Derek Jeter...Derek Jeter... Derek Jeter... you are missed
I'm a die hard devoted Mets fan and I always loved Derek Jeter, no hate, just jealous he played for the subway series rivals haha.
Not getting married and starting a family until he was about to retire was absolutely the smartest thing any player of his caliber has ever done
RE2PECT
RE2PECT
RE2PECT MY FUCKING ASS.
13etter than Jeter
Darlyn Ortiz. Me to
Derek Jeter is the best😎
Lmao David Price dropped to the ground like "bruh"
Jeter is the man, what else can you say?
Derek Jeter is a legend
Fucking Legend, best all time, Mr.Clutch, he was/is baseball!!!
We are going to win another one in 2018. No doubt. Giancarlo and Judge. No doubt The Yankees are the best team in sports history
Nobody can replace jeter
I love Derek jeter
Jeffrey, you are a Yankee hero!
Respect
I'm a yankee fan and jetere was 1 of the bewst people + alex + healdy + gander
I like Jeter. Always have. That is why I'm really surprised by the anemic highlight reels. Twenty years, over 3000 hits, and all that keeps popping up are the game winning HR in a series the Yankees lost, "The Flip", (which is an incredible play but only stopped the tying run from scoring in the middle of a game the Yankees won.), a couple of gutsy foul ball outs, and some plays you see almost daily during any regular season.
Maybe the "over-rated" tag has some merit after all...... Included in this highlight reel is one where a kid snags a ball, turning a certain out into a game changing home run. How does that show Jeter's greatness?
Jeter is a pretty certain first ballot hall of famer. Isn't there more?????
Jeffrey Maier is a fucking legend!
Why was the first one a highlight
EL CAPITAN........DJ...........EL MEJOR.......
do you find the game online or do you ....hi B G MGS
1:42 The greatest infield play in baseball history.
My dad won the 1999 World Series his name is dan Naulty look him up that’s my dad
What happened at 14:30 getting pulled from the game with the Orioles
