  • Over a billion years of evolution, fungi have become masters of invention, developing sophisticated forms of biointelligence that allow them to sense and adapt to their environment, explore new resources and partnerships, and in some ways, to think. In this talk, David Andrew Quist explains not only how fungi can help us solve some of humanity's most vexing environmental problems, but how they can also teach us new ways of thinking, as we collectively navigate toward a more resilient future.
David is a mushroom researcher and restauranteur. His current work combines both his passion for gastronomy and science; by exploring the culinary potential of fungal mycelium as an innovative new category of food - nutritious, delicious and sustainable.
Should the future be fungal? At TEDxOsloMet 2021, David will take us on a journey through the amazing world of fungi and their potential as innovative, next-generation sustainable technologies. As we collectively navigate an uncertain future, learning from fungi can provide us with new mental models and metaphors on what it means to be an individual, our relationship with the natural world, and our place in it. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

How to think like a Fungus??? While preparing for retirement, the wisest thing that should be on every wise individual's list is to invest in different stream of income; I am earning more this year because I have been investing while working at the same time. I invested through TERESA JENSEN WHITE, same woman that an anchor kept mentioning on CNBC, and made multiple of my start up capital within three months . She lives here in the USA and she is licensed

The amazing thing here is how mushrooms do the same thing for the human brain. Lion's Mane, for example, will relink and restructure the neurons in your brain to create the most effective version of neural symbiosis that your brain is capable of. That's why Lion's Mane is excellent for those living and struggling with ADHD and other mental problems. 🍄 And if a mushroom can do that for the human brain then I would like to imagine what mushrooms can do for every other system in the human body, as well!

Yes,grow fungi for food for humans, but grow what fish eat fro fish, not soya, or fungi. Plankton would be a start, or small crustatia,

Near the end of the talk he goes over the role of fungi in sustainable industries. Creating more awareness around the sustainable options we can put our efforts toward is very important.

He's not a biologist. He's a mycologist. GOAT does not mean goat, as in the animal goat.

It thrived ✨with✨ the Dinosaurs. 🦕 I was just thinking about a friend of mine who left her pool alone without cleaning it and it grew fungi in it! Wow. This is a powerful TedTalk! 🍄🌿🌱🦠🧫🔬 Everything is a system of some sort. A mirror per se. Also! I was thinking about how we do not actually need to bury our loved ones in a coffin. Composition. And I was explaining to my friend on our walk earlier about all of the different fungi’s, such as; lions main, truffle. I was also searching for a faerie ring in my yard which is a circle of fungi that are clustered together.
