Yes. Cilantro is life. Period. You know what else is life? Those placemats! I love them! Oh, Arlene. This video was pure joy, beginning to end AND full of so much inspiration. We're also working on some foundational skills to start the year, but it looks so much more fun at your house 🤣 The PE Challenge with the trivia and the dice - I am totally stealing that.
Aw thank you! The placements are awesome and easy to clean. They come in several colors, it’s in my Amazon store, for the home category: amzn.to/4dIGIZj (aff)
How in the world did I miss this video? I want to go to your homeschool. I loved both the note taking with the Is It Art video and your PE challenge. What a great way to simulate a lecture. I’m going to give this a try. Also I’d love to know more about the PE challenge game. How exactly does it work? I’d love to give it a try. Thank you so much for all this inspiration. I’m all excited to get going.
Team parsley over here! 🤣 Thank you for making this series. Can’t wait to watch. We’re out of town with limited internet. But my laundry pile will be waiting when we return. 👍☺️
Love that you are working along side them on notetaking skills! One of the best things we've incorporated this year is our own take on notebooking/main lesson book/visual journal, and I really enjoy making pages along with my kids. Although, full disclosure, I work alone on my notebook in my room so I can focus lol!
Arlene, you are literally the best! I loved every second of this video. From “I’m not cutting potatoes by hand, to how proud you are to rhyme (me too), it was so fun and informative. Love your foundational skills week! I’m totally stealing this idea. And the PE challenge and note taking skills session were pure genius! Thanks for sharing and for as always inspiring us!
This video is truly inspiring...loved it my Middle Schooler loved it and wants a homeschool first week do over and wants me to come up with a powerpoint!! Love it Arlene you keep us inspired!!
This was amazing Arlene! I love the way you took something like note-taking and turned it into something fun and engaging. Can you tell me where I can find the PE challenge? That had me laughing. I hope you’ll share more of this foundational skills. You rock!
@@MajajiWarrior aw thank you so much. I made the PE Challenge up. Middle of the night lessons that pop into my head 😆 But fairly easy to put together. I’ll share more on it on the last video of the week as part of the wrap up where I answer questions.
Sorry if this question was answered, I didnt hear it but what curriculum are you using for the slides? Is this the same as your annotating in your 2nd video? If its a diy do you have tips for beginning? Btw, I loooove your videos and watching your train of thought
No curriculum. I usually start by exploring Canva, I pay for the Pro version. I search for existing templates related to the topic and then customize them by adding my own elements or adjusting the text. Sometimes, I find a template that needs minimal editing. If I can’t find exactly what I need, I create a design from scratch on Canva. You might also want to check out TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers) for a wide range of pre-made slides on various topics.

The large dice was so fun! And starting with a note taking class is genius! I know what we’re doing in September 😂 Thanks so much!
My pleasure! It’s one of those skills many take for granted but often need explicit instructions and practice.

The note taking introduction video. We are going to work on note taking this year for 7th grade too.
