It's a real shame what they did to Zinos roar. From a badass oversized thunderblight/dragonblight to a oversized wolf who got stomped his tail by something.
I am not a fan of a lot of the new roars, like the Yian Garuga, Barroth and Uragaan, and with some like the Deviljho the original roar is drowned out. Specifically Deviljho’s where the booming bass at its beginning is drowned out... then there’s Zinogre... Wow it's like when you use a microphone next to a PSP compared audio from a direct capture, the capture audio is crisper! What a find!
Like most things Monster Hunter, adore both new and old. The sound redesign they did in World really adds to the immersion the game provides, but the classic roars have a wonderful nostalgic appeal. I just really love seeing how all of the monsters have evolved through the franchise over time.
It's a real shame what they did to Zinos roar. From a badass oversized thunderblight/dragonblight to a oversized wolf who got stomped his tail by something.
Zinogre's is the exact same but the howl was made more prominent.
The difference zinogre roar is that old zinogre howl is literally a lower pitch of a wolf howl
Teo & Luna tho lol you can still hear a little of the old roar in world which is great
My body jumps at some of these roars. Just imagine that IRL sheeeee, I don't even wanna think about it
I am not a fan of a lot of the new roars, like the Yian Garuga, Barroth and Uragaan, and with some like the Deviljho the original roar is drowned out. Specifically Deviljho’s where the booming bass at its beginning is drowned out... then there’s Zinogre...
But there is a great amount of detail and love put into the ones that work with their redone roars, like the Rath duo. Then the Kirin sounds? Absolute improvement. Truly amazing! Anytime I hear these while fighting with my headset it is truly a heart pumping treat!
Hit or miss, yet still amazing when it hits! World truly brought a new standard and I love it!
I gotta disagree with you about the Yian Garuga, the new one still feels so alien (like the old one) but at the same time it is more intense and terrifying. To each their own i guess
Well, i like a lot of the new roars, especially yian garuga's, it actually sounds scary and terrifying, while the old one sounds like a generic bird sound. And no, deviljho's roar in this video is different than what he actually sounds in the game.
Maybe it's just sound quality, but the newer roars seem to have more of an impact and feel a more intimidating and well, like a very loud roar that would leave you shaking
You can feel some of the roars from world.
Rajang's old roar is absolutely horrifying
AAAOOOOOOOOOOO
I like the older roars better for Rathian and Rathalos
Is it me or in Brachy's roar, there seems like a subdued human cry in pain. It gives me the creep....
0:09 Rajang goes “Heh”
Dang I never realized how much clearer the roars sound in World overall compared to older games
i didn't realize how much i love nargacuga roar until this video (old and new)
I really miss the old Uragaan roar... So fucking bone rattling!
Uragaan still sounds almost exactly the same
I miss Barroth's old roar.
I do love the new renditions, like Deviljho's. Sounds kinda like a lion.
Oh, yeah, and I hate Rathalos' new one. They butchered it. Possibly the most iconic roar, and now it sounds like a wheeze.
In both versions diablos has the exact same roar which is screaming at the top of his lungs
I like how the old Diablos roar was so loud that he was damn near breaking the sound barrier
Tbh old deviljho design would’ve freaked me tf out.
Its basically teen/ skinny Deviljho
It would have been cool to see in the new world.
Those original Rathalos and Rathian roars are iconic. I don't get why they changed it?
Love how rise went back to regular zinogre
If you listen closely you can hear some of the OG roars such as Teo and Luna's.
I think it’s hilarious that the glavenus roar has a *shing* sound effect
Yian Garuga: Its new roar is definitely better. It sounds more menacing and fits the monster itself better.
Rajang: While its old roar isn't bad, it sounds too much like an electric guitar. I think I prefer the new one.
Lavasioth: Doesn't sound that much different from the original
Barroth: I honestly don't know whether I prefer the old or new roar. I like the old one, but I'm also so used to hearing the new one.
Uragaan: The new roar kinda sounds similar to the old one to me
Deviljho: I think I prefer the new one, but the old one is still good
Brachydios: Sounds almost the same as the original except lower pitched
Glavenus: Didn't change much honestly. I don't notice that many differences aside from the quality (also these were two different roars being used)
Zinogre: The old roar is definitely better. It doesn't sound as intimidating in World as it did in the old games (and Rise.) I'm glad they brought back the old roars in Rise.
Diablos: Sounds almost exactly the same
Rathian/Rathalos: I like the old ones better, but the new ones have grown on me pretty quickly and I'm so used to hearing them.
Tigrex: I think I prefer the new one, but the old one is good too
Nargacuga: Much like Diablos, sounds almost the same as the original
Barioth: New roar is definitely better and more memorable.
Kirin: Not a whole lot has been changed to be honest.
Lunastra/Teostra: Gonna be honest, while they're not bad I don't think their old roars suit them that much.
Kushala Daora: I think I prefer the new roar
Does anyone else crack up at the wet squishy sound preceding world jho’s roar? Or is that just me?
No, it's there
Dart.11 ?
@@nimbusws5946 I think that's the sound of his muscles swelling up.
I know but it still makes me think someone’s stepping on a wet pickle
@@nimbusws5946 It is quite uncomfortable.
Glavenus new roar is so badass
Barroth just sounds like a kaiju
Diablos, Nargacuga, Kirin, Kushala, and Tigrex is the only ones that really stayed true to their roars
No, not just them, and some also have their roars improved, like barioth.
I like some of them are improved
Rathian and Rathalos, also Lunastra and Teostra sounds so different...i prefer the original one
Zinogre just sound like a regular wolf now..
Different doesn't mean they're worse, but i kinda agree on the raths' roars
everytime i hear the monster roar im so hyped to fight
Uragaans old roar is better then he’s new one in my opinion
He still does the chin slam
I like when they add up real animal roar such as lion roar on deviljho.
And tiger noises for Zinogre while running...
...for some reason.
@@captainsoldier774 and i noticed some kind of jaguar sound on glavenus.
@@gilangrnl
It's been confirmed a long time ago that Glavenus is a mixture of a lion and tiger and making it sound metallic
I think this video shows well why I have a gripe with world's sound design overall
I miss the old monster roars, they where so iconic
Also anyone else thing deviljho just sounds like a lion now
He does );
That's just nostalgia, some still have their old roars, and others even have their roars improved, such as barioth's, garuga's, etc
Deviljho's roar is almost exactly the same, so wdym?
@@caesar7786 it’s not really nostalgia if you do still constantly play every other game in the series that isn’t world (MHFU,MH3U etc), the original roars will always be iconic no matter what
@@ryaquaza3offical well, you literally just explained it, lol
Man, Barroth and Zinogre got shafted so bad.
The mhw ones are just more intimidating ya know
Did they ever explain why they changed the roars?
I feel like the original Diabolos was slightly better, the screaming noise kinda tears which really emphasises the loudness like it's a continuous noise blowing out your eardrums?
Deviljho's roar made me dropped my phone on my face...
I just wish the audio mixing in game was better. Even after fiddling the settings, monster roars don’t sound right.
the volume of this video makes it looks like it's very biased towards World's roar
Still find it funny how lavasioth is originally from frontier
