Thanks Dave. Triples are such a major hassle cordwise and other that just have not bothered. Have considered the ultrawide a few times for when I'm not using VR and this helps a lot.
Dave on more recent videos it seems you've gone back to a triple-screen setup. Is that correct? If so was it because ultimately you found the reduction in field-of-view unsatisfactory? To anyone else: is anyone running a triple-screen setup using a super ultrawide as centre monitor, and a pair of wides for side monitors?
My rig used to be multi purpose so the ultrawide was a brilliant compromise. All info is sim race now so went back to triples where there is a greater fov. That's the only reason 👍

It's just that you're normally at least two wide. Just makes seeing to the side a little more difficult. 👍
I've saved so much space going to the ultrawifr too 😁
Dave Cam ah, yes - that makes sense. I will have to look into an ultra wide as I don’t do much Oval. I keep considering going VR, but I wear glasses these days so they present an issue, and currently I don’t think the resolution is quite there on current hardware. Thanks for replying...
Thanks Dave. Triples are such a major hassle cordwise and other that just have not bothered. Have considered the ultrawide a few times for when I'm not using VR and this helps a lot.
Dave Cameron doesnt do what Dave Cameron does for Dave Cameron...Dave Cameron Does what Dave Cameron does because Dave Cameron is..... Dave Cameron.
Love my ultra wide. Wouldn’t swap it.
Quality videos Dave well done. 👍
Not really an iracing fan but it’s just a joy to watch you drive. Wish I had the same level of finesse!
Thanks Jonathan 😁
I've yet to try the Skip Barber on AC. That's gotta be on my list to try this year.
I’d also like to know why you changed
My rig used to be multi purpose so the ultrawide was a brilliant compromise. All info is sim race now so went back to triples where there is a greater fov. That's the only reason 👍
@@davecamyt did you consider simply adding a pair of wides for side-windows?
No, it'd take up too much space. Plus, she'd kill me 😁
Hello Dave 🙂 I would like to know if you have better performances (fps) with the ultra, compare to the triple? Thank you.
i wish i was half as good as you. just started out with sim racing (like everyone else due to a certain virus).. and boy oh boy do i spin and crash a lot..
You're not the only one Keith 😁
Someone has to say it - triple ultra wide screens in the future? Or would that lead to Divorce?
Oh my, I'd be a dead man if I even suggested it 😂
Don't suggest, just buy....she never comes in there anyhow ....😄
OMG these Skippies look so much fun to drive, and reasonably forgiving, or is it just your are so good at driving them ????
I enjoyed watching this. Brutal open wheel contact. Confused about how you're downshifting.
Awesome Dave
Looks brilliant dave. An idea would maybe be to change in and out of this webcam view in future races, whilst the normal cockpit view being the main!
Hello sir. You make some of the best videos to watch. Content is good, racing is good and clean, and the language is clean and respectful. Hard to find a better channel. Keep up the great work.
I just started racing on PS4, Nascar heat 5, Gran Turismo sport, and F1 2020. Can’t wait to make the switch to IRacing. Where did you get the Alpinestar gloves that you were wearing.
Hi Joe. Very kind words, thank you. I think I just got them somewhere on the internet. Alpine stars F-Lite if I remember correctly 👍
@@davecamyt thank you will look them up. I just started with the Thrustmaster T-150 pro and it works well but starting to study what’s out there and looking for next one. Any tips or suggestions
Great video Dave! , I think it's been mentioned but could you do another video, same perspective but a closed cockpit car GT3 or the Cayman GT4 ?
Yes I'll do another 😁
@@davecamyt Top man!!!
Thanks for the over the shoulder cam, I hope you can use it every now and then. It's nice to see what you see. Also, it looks like you might have your frame rate locked at 60. Is that on purpose?
Yes I have it locked when recording. If I don't it looks a bit weird and choppy to me. 👍
@@davecamyt I have similar computer spec to you and was afraid to go to 1440p for fear of frame rate at the start or races. That particular race you still had 60fps at the start. Are you ever seeing a situation where it drops below 60 for the start of a race?
Just here to campaign for naming the 32:9's the double-wide of monitors.
What have change? New vids you are back on 3 monitor setup? Maybe a vid on this to help out? I'm thinking about getting 3 monitors atm
I enjoyed being able to see your mirrors and more of the side by side action in this video. Could you do the same for something like an IMSA race ?
👍
Yes I'll do another in a tin top 😁
Nice video, monitor and driving. Just a quick question, why only using the clutch for up-shifting?
Dave, Just want to say Thank you for all the uploads you do. Your very passionate and i love all the content you upload (you are a Legend my Friend) . Right now ive just made it to D class(havent raced a lot just time trials and AI) Bought a porsche gt cup car tried that at monza in practice (best time 1:54 real handful on the brakes ) just bought the BMW M8 and Silverstone for this season.Practicing at summit point after watching your recent vid and gone from a 1:12 to a 1:09. love the feeling of it compared to the porsche but porsche is where im going i think (feels amazing on the limit(my limit).
Hopefully we can meet in a race one day(that would be cool) cheers any ways Brother, by the way im from Hull so not that far from you Mate.
Keep up the Legendary work.. Subbed 10/10.
Hey bud, thanks for that.
Yeah the Porsche is a real handful, but when it clicks it's an amazing car to drive.
I'm sure we'll bump into each other on track 😁
Trying im Trying haha
What CURVATURE would you suggest?
Are the new 1000R screens a good choice, or would you go with less curvature?
Interesting vid! I've got the sammie 49" 1440p as well. Never tried triples, and wasn't sure whether it was worth buying them at some stage. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if you end up switching back or not. I have mine just 3-4" inches behind the wheel rim, helps with FOV a lot.
How are you finding the resolution? I have an LG 34', 2560 x 1080 and I can kinda see the pixels already. Was looking into the 49'' 4K
@@dhruvb38 I have the1440 samsung 49 and being a pixel snob I binned 1080 a few years back, 1440 is almost perfect, I have a 23 inch 1080 monitor over top as an aux which is IPS and the image is not very good in pixel terms, I also have 1440 27 inch monitors on my desktop.
@@dhruvb38 The 49" I have is 1440p, not 4k. I can't see the pixels to any noticeable extent, even with the screen only ~22" away. I tried reducing the res to 1080 to try and increase fps (I only have a 5700XT) and the pixels were then quite noticeable. I don't see any need for more than 1440p though so quite happy with the resolution.
Nice rig. what a race. 3 wide for 7th. Need to do more races with that camera view.
Great video and we greatly appreciate your input! I use triple 32'' setup but find it tiresome after a while.... Is the ultra wide more comfortable for your eyes?
Yes I think it is 👍
Words to live by: "If you go through the day, and everyone you meet is an a-hole, maybe you're the a-hole."
In a similar vein, if everyone else is blinking, maybe you're the one who's blinking.
Yes if everyone blinks, it's you 👍
I went from an ultra to trip 32. Odd twist, not only do triples give me 180 degree fov, it also takes up less space granted screen angle being > or = 60 degrees.
I reckon ultrawide + VR for when you want immersion. Triples take up too much space and you don't really need it...
