I just want to say a huge THANK YOU! I just got my vintage stacking system (bought new by me in 1991) back from my son. The turntable had been replaced by an Aiwa like yours. I put a new needle in but it sounded awful. I came to UA-cam for help and saw you switch the pre amp. I switched mine off and it sounds great now! Now I have to work out why the sound from the turntable is only coming from one speaker. 😂
@@audubon5425 I know… I actually have an Audio-Technica AT-LP60 that I got for Christmas several years ago (though I have since upgraded to a vintage Dual 621 turntable).
@@douglasallen9428 I had a few teething problems with this one since I shot that video last summer. I did replace the belt and platter mat. The DC motor started squealing intermittently around September - I dripped a drop of oil down the shaft and its been happy since. I did have to touch up the speed adjustments a couple of times. Seems you have to do 33 first, then 45.
Hi, I have the same model,would you know how to get the arm to work automatically, it just raises but won't move toward the record, I can move I manually, any feedback would be much appreciated.thanks
@noname-mc5zx you can replace the motor with the generic ones off Amazon, you just have to unsolder the quick connect off the new motor and solder the wires directly on (like the old one.)

Looks like the very first turntable I ever had (though mine was a PX-E860, though my aunt gave me her PX-E855 shortly after)…
I believe they were all the same mechanically. They're still selling these today - twenty-five years later.

i have the same player but the motor spindle barely spins, do you know what the issue could be?
These motors fail. I bought another motor off of Amazon or eBay for like $20 - the motor in this one is getting inconsistent with the speeds.
