Great tips, I've been doing this very thing. Some days, I'm on Uber for hours, others Lyft. Whatever app gives me the first pick up usually keeps me busy back-to-back for a while.

I do both, Uber pays better also more tips with Uber and better tips $$. But having both on and rotating helps me have no dead time.

I drive for uber and Lyft at the same time. I mostly do Uber here in my market in San Diego and treat Lyft as the back up plan when Uber is slow. Thanks for these pointers I found them very useful.

Have you tried the app Maestro which manages both the Uber and Lyft apps toggling back and forth? There’s also some filters for rides parameters to set for ride s you prefer.

Great video! Do you just do rideshare or do you also do deliveries too? I know the Uber app can be set to do both rides and Uber Eats at the same time.
Thanks. I do it all. These days I'm doing Grubhub and Doordash. I have videos about that as well. My car is being repaired so I'm using a small pickup truck. Can't do passengers until I get the car back. I don't really like Uber Eats or Doordash. For food, GrubHub serves me the best - about $120/day.
Driving for Lyft or Uber is like" crying on a grave without a dead body". Assuming you made $6000 net in 3 months driving and taking passengers from A to B, what you did not know is your vehicle's value just dropped $6000, so you just wasted your time and did break even.
but this reality is hard to see because you do not see your vehicle's value dropping, you just don't see it until you decide to sell your vehicle.
I take it, then, you don't advocate driving for Uber or Lyft!
As you correctly stated:"it's hard to see". Drivers don't realize that! I bet Uber and Lyft knows this! Don't forget taxes, your own health insurance, gas, time, retirement savings, etc.

How do you deal with consecutive ride bonuses or surges lost? Do you still make more money with both apps despite losing bonuses?
Frank, that's a great question and the problem is in my little city of Amarillo there are too many dead periods where there are no rides either with Lyft or Uber, so it's very difficult to achieve any surges or consecutive ride bonuses. Basically non-existent here.
ou can not actually make any money becoming a Lyft driver, why? here is a scenario: Assuming you made $5000 in 3-month net income, did you know your car value will also depreciate by $5000 dollars ? because you will put about 15k-20k miles on your car, wear and tears on other parts of your car, so in reality, you did not make any money, you have been crying on a grave without a dead body.
Some people make a living doing it. I've been through 4 vehicles while driving for Lyft and Uber. I'm still going.
