Great tips, I've been doing this very thing. Some days, I'm on Uber for hours, others Lyft. Whatever app gives me the first pick up usually keeps me busy back-to-back for a while.

I had a drunk passenger who would not get off my car because the Specs was closed and he want me to take him to another place but I already ended the ride and have another pick up. I told him that and he said he don’t care. So I had to trick him we go to a gas station and buy beer instead and as soon as he got off the car I took off.

Had a LOT of ladies tell me stories about male drivers who were inappropriate with them. Not a single one reported it. They are afraid the driver has their address. NOT TRUE!! Report that stuff!

I have handicap plates. Uber and Lyft get the pic every year. The little wheelchair guy is is on my plates, but not on the stickers. It sometimes confuses the riders.

I drive at night. Also carry weapons. Pepper spray gel is a good one to have. I don't drive between 0200-0230. Broke that rule a month ago and had a pax hurl on the door. She cleaned most of it. I had to get out and help her over the curb to get to her apartment.

Have you tried the app Maestro which manages both the Uber and Lyft apps toggling back and forth? There’s also some filters for rides parameters to set for ride s you prefer.

I do both, Uber pays better also more tips with Uber and better tips $$. But having both on and rotating helps me have no dead time.

I was doing uber eats for about a month. Then I signed up for uberx, did around 10 rides. Then I signed up with lyft. And ive been doing that exclusively for a week. I like driving for lyft better

Hi Wayne. Also remember you are only allowed $19,500 in added income without any being deducted from your SSI payment. Even though you get the overage back when you are 67, just keep that in your mind. For quarterly federal payments, I’d look at your income tax amount from 2021 as a percentage. Try to predict, using an a average month from 2022 so far, your income (inc mileage and expenses deduction) and compare it to 2021 as a percentage. Multiply that by your 2021 federal tax and cut that into 4 for the quarterly payment. I’m not a cpa but that is how I plan to do it when I go full throttle.

When I had a sole proprietor business, I had to make quarterly income tax payments. That way you avoid an underpayment penalty.
