I've done the grain store. Did it in July 2018. It was pretty good. Had two priority passes and got quite a lot of food.
Some Lufthansa Lounges in Munich and Frankfurt can also be accessed with AMEX Platinum and a Lufthansa ticket ;)
(And the Centurion gets you into the First Class Lounges!)

Escape lounges are some of the most underrated domestic lounges in the states. I’ve been to the ones in BDL (my home airport), and MSP. It’s made my Amex more than worth it, small but quality matches and often exceed domestic American carrier lounges. If you home airport has an escape lounge it makes Amex plat so much better than CSR.
Air space lounge is decent been to the one in SD they give you a credit for 10$ for food off the menu. Snacks and non-alch beverages are free.
Greetings from Bogota. Thanks for your video and the info on the lounges. I just walked by an American Express lounge here. It is not like the Centurion Lounges; it is more like a pop-up lounge in the terminal, with a few snacks and seats. The lounge is open to the terminal, not closed off by hard structured walls. ( The walls are about 4 foot high, so it is open to the rest of the terminal.) If you have the priority pass or the platinum card you have a few other (better) traditional options for lounges here in the Bogotá international terminal!
priority pass lounges in the US are dismal. The best lounges are in Asia and some of the priority pass ones are pretty nice, however the nicest lounges are ones you can't get into with a mere credit card. Nicest airport experience I've had was ANA Suite checkin and lounge at NRT. The food is insanely good and the showers are worthy or even beyond the standards of a true 5 star hotel. chase that alliance status! its worth it for the showers alone.
I visited an American Express "Lounge" at ARN in Stockholm last week. It is called "Pontus in the air" and is a private section of the Pontus restaurant for Platinum and Centurion card holders. Since it is a restaurant you can get some amazing quality food and have waiters walking around, so its a bit different from your typical lounge. Although it is not shown in the list of lounges (as in the video), it is shown on the centurion lounge website. It is also the only Amex lounge in Europe!

Thrilled about LAS Vegas as a new Platinum owner!
I have been to the Escape Lounge in Minneapolis. It is divided up into four spaces and you have a full view of the flight line from all four. You enter (going from left to right) into what I call the third space. It has the hot food buffet and some booths, continuing to your left is the coffee and tea area 2 (a little hidden as it is sort of in a small hallway), followed by a floor to ceiling screen that divides those two areas off from the bar area or area 1. Tables are available here to eat as well. Going back to the entrance if you go to your right is area 4 and is cut off by a floor to ceiling divider. Here are very comfortable chairs and some workspace. It really seems they do not want you to eat here per se, but they have a self serve espresso/latte machine along with cookies and soft drinks available. There are charging ports and power plugs throughout all of the seating Areas and the WiFi is very good. We were there at the change over from breakfast to lunch and while the dining is not 4 stars, it was fine and the lounge was not overcrowded for the two hours we spent there. We purposely came early to use the lounge and skip the loud hotel restaurant.
I wonder what would happen if one centurion card holder bought out a centurion lounge and another centurion card holder wanted access? 🤔
Iv been to all the Amex lounges and they are nicer than even the Hong Kong and LGA centurion which are very small
I've been to the Centurion Club in Mexico City and American Express Lounge in Sao Paulo. Not quite on the same level as a Centurion Lounge.
The Centurion club in Mexico City is subdivided, one lounge for black card another for plat. And it looks like they’ve directed all their budget to the bc lounge since it’s beautiful, wish I could use it instead of the plat one haha
Hey Ben and anyone else I live in San Diego and the airspace is decent. They have cookies and cheese for free as well as mixed nuts and soft drinks/water/juices. Liquor and food you have to pay for however you do a get $10 credit pp for you and one guest. I've never seen it overcrowded even thought it isn't too big.

Amex Lounge in Sydney was small but pleasant and a huge perk given no Priority Pass lounges in Sydney. There are a ton of Priority Pass lounges though. Got to double dip with my CDR and Amex Plat!
Airspace San Diego is small. They also give you lounge credit good for drinks or food. Literally enough for one Naked smoothie or a small appetizer. Better than nothing given no Priority pass lounges at SAN.

Yeah I might do a separate video on those kinds of non airport lounges. We also have an Amex lounge her in New York at Barclays center. (Only opens on game days)

FYI Amex updated the centerion card last week or so. It’s all black now they removed the border. More of a modern look. You should change your pictures.

It’s not me, it is them. They don’t count the centurion lounge in Argentina or the 6 centurion clubs in Mexico as centurion lounges

We've been to one of the Centurion Lounges, (or "clubs" I guess they're called lol), in the Mexico City airport. When we were there, we got a free 15 minute massage, we got to order one of a few items off of their menu and they brought out a giant spread of food, and then of course free drinks as well. It was a nice experience but they were missing the delicious cookies.

Sadly the only PP lounge I use domestically (Alaska air in Anchorage) is leaving the network. But have had good experiences using it Singapore, and Philippines(terminal 3.)I have looked in Seattle's Centurion Lounge, and was not impressed, but the Dleta skyclub in Seattle is way better, good food.

Speaking from experience with the Australian AMEX lounges, I think they are not called Centurion Lounges because non Platinum and Centurion card members can get access. For example the AMEX Qantas card in Australia provides 2 x lounge passes to the AMEX Australian lounges per year.

Please, could you do an update for 2022-23? I am very confused, I just got my card for Priority Pass and it says there's VIP lounges and regular lounges and check if you are VIP or not - specially when traveling in other airlines. This Thanksgiving we're flying American but Priority Pass shows AeroMexico lounges for example. Heeeelp

The Credit Shifu I can second this. I’ve just been to 2. Both in MX City, and both inside the plat lounge. They are very very well hidden. They one in T1 is hidden after passing the bathrooms behind a black Matt cristal door, no signage or anything, the front desk host took us to it. The one in T2 is also behind a black glass door but this one is shinny black, no signs as well. The door is on the second floor of the lounge behind the bar area.
The food and the alcohol is WAY BETTER. We are talking JW blue label for whiskey and Dom Perignon champagne.

This are two known lounges to me. I am 99% sure there are more all over the world but the secrecy is part of the appeal of the Centurion Card.
You missed the Lufthansa business class lounge in Munich and Frankfurt. You also missed pontus in the sky in Stockholm

I was curious about the British Airways lounges. Is AMEX Platinum accepted there? I know you can use the Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Card because they are a One World partner.

You have to pay for some of the food in the Mexico City Club, so I'm assuming that's why they aren't part of the network. everything isn't complimentary.

No, I’ve just been there. Since they allow gold cards in the lounge they charge for food. But for plats, the check in desk gives you a card that entitles you to a three course meal from their menu and waiter service. Way better deal than the cheap buffet of the centurion lounge in DFW (my home airport)
@@fernandodvalles that's good to know. I was there once last year and I wasn't given a credit for food, but I got free drinks. I'll have to keep this in mind for my next trip.

I think the benefits being removed from Platinum is going to be replaced by the next level above Platinum but below Centurion.
If that new Optio card does come out, maybe the Platinums will have their visits to Centurion lounges limited to a certain number per year. Either that or they will get turned away more often and it would be an incentive to upgrade to a $1500 card. It could be a good marketing tactic for their new card: "I'm sorry, but due to high demand, this lounge is currently closed to Platinum and Delta Reserve card holders. Optio and Centurion card holders only."
The international lounges are probably not part of centurion lounge network because they are not managed by AMEX, some countries like Argentina, Brasil, Mexico AMEX just license a local bank to issue Amex cards and these local banks manage the lounges.

Absolutly did not like the escape at Oakland international. Way too crowed, share tables with strangers. Very basic food, or cookies I should say. Don't even have a private washroom..
