Why is everyone acting like the Eloy trade was a trade where the O's gave something up? They got him as a salary dump and injury replacement. They got 3 right bats back in the last week and Eloy was no longer needed. He served his purpose and wasn't a real deadline trade in terms of impact

Its so funny to me that last year when Os fans were saying that baseball is an everyday sport and sitting around for a week as the 1 seed didn't reward the team at all, they were told that the Os just choked, to get over it, and that it was a bad excuse. But now that the yanks are looking like they will be the 1 seed and will have to sit around for a week before the playoffs, all of a sudden, this format "doesn't reward the best teams."
I was just going to point this out. If the Yankees were a wild card team and made a run, their fans would be saying it has nothing to do with the format and that they were clearly the better team. Guardians are sneaky and Matt Boyd has been sneaky good. Joey Cantillo has been pitching really well since being called up. We are like the Brewers where we play hard all the time. Best bullpen in the MLB and small ball wins games. Kwan just got called off the DL, Lane Thomas has got hot, and they have chemistry which goes a long way.
I mean, Parker Meadows has been a top 5 CF in the league by fWAR since coming back from injury in early August so I think he makes a very good #3 for Detroit

As a Dodgers fan, I completely agree. Pitching needs to step up if we’re going to have a chance of making the next round, let alone the World Series.
