Lordy I owned an NGage, though as a hand me down, I liked it. It was sadly let down by lack of games amongst some other bad managerial decisions. One thing that also doomed it was it was a lot more fragile than what we expected from Nokia, after all they had a reputation for indestructible handsets. I still have a working 3310 and 3510i. They will be useless soon as handsets but they have pulled cover duty a few times.

A couple of months ago I bought a QD for 2 dollars, still needs reviving but I love how it looks. The first n-gage was one of my favourite phones - I bought it 3 times lol

Ah, the memories.....the QD really made my years memorable 😁
Best phone I ever had in my life N-gage QD, I remember playing DOOM on it, using nes-snes-genesis-gameboy emulators, listening MP3, watching all kinds of videos, playing all N-gage games from MMC card. I have'd first one too but can't tolarate it using one month, upgraded to QD after that.. I still have it but its screen is completely broken, f*** no body fixin it this old phone anymore.
I loved that thing too. The screen you can replace with any flagship Nokia screen of the time. A lot of the guys is just recycled from other Nokia flagships of the time
I still have my Ngage QD and the 1st gen. But the QD's OS keeps giving a "System Error" when turning on the phone. I have tried a hard reset but to no avail. I have no idea if there is a way to Flash new firmware/OS onto the phone to get it running again.
I felt pre historic watching this video. I owned an N-gage when I was in high school but then the psp was released so i never gamed on my engage and switched to a Nokia 6630. it feels like it was yesterday.
I remember one image gone viral on the internet. This was post ngage 2.0. So there was this concept device call the Ngage - Neo. You can still find it. And it looked promising and phenomenal. The balance you are talking about ? Yep it seems with that device they could have done it.
It's really ironic how early and late Nokia was back then. They were too early for a handheld gaming device and phone mashed together. They were too late to use android as their main operating system. If they had jumped on android as early as 2009, they would probably be one of the market leaders today. They already have brand loyalty, and total control over the phone market back then.
I've still got the first gen taco N-Gage and a bunch of games for it, and the phone still works like a charm. I obviously don't use it as a daily but I'm glad I have it as a collector's piece. It's such unique phone. And though it's got its own issues, it's still a bold decision by Nokia to go that route, and I'm glad they did.
Thanks for reminding me about that device. I actually owned the N81 8Gb haha. What I meant was "dedicated gaming phone", the N series devices were all round multimedia beasts
Good to see you here Adrian 😁 even though Ngage service was a nice addition to their phones, if Nokia had their wits together they could have created their own online gaming store on multiple platform. Hindsight of course...
There is a rumor that the original nokia N-gage design was based of the goatse image. It was a response to bad management in the design department where the deciding class kept rejecting each design and as a last effort he decided to submit a design the goatse variant and hardly anyone spotted it and it passed... The rumor is probably true because it even has the ring at the right spot
I remember having an ngage QD and game boy when I was a kid. Main problem with QD was there were hardly any games on this so even though I really liked it I played mostly on my gameboy.
Can you help me in getting Nokia Ngage qd complete body with cover rubber strip ? Please I love this set to . And have it in working condition but can not find its parts.
Was waiting for the next Nokia feature phone video! I loved the NGage QD! My friend had it, while I had gone for the 6600. The games were decent, and we had taken these towards the end of their production runs, so price was quite reasonable. I tried copying the files from the game cartridge to my 6600, but it didn't work. The game used to crash immediately on entry 😁
I wasn't really able to get a hold of a Nokia NGage but I got a phone the S60v2 phones that can play NGage games. SonicN was the very first game I ever touched as a kid back in 2006, through Nokia 6600. When 2011 came, instead of getting an android phone, I asked for a Nokia 6670 and played SonicN again for months. And then I knew of emulators. I was playing GBA games througy Vbagx using an S60v2 phone, along with Picodrive S60, Vnes, Vboy and all. It was my smartphone back then. (I have video of those way deep under my channel)

good childhood memories with this phone, Explode arena ,Rally race etc fav N Gage games that time😍
I had one aswell was a ton of fun.
This was first phone of my life....❤️❤️❤️
I still remember, playing asphalt, god of war and definitely my favorite darkest fear on my Nokia n70. Damn those days are awesome.
A lot of the guys is just recycled from other Nokia flagships of the time
@@sloppynyuszi Huh? Man I got dead nokia 7610, you mean it work?
I still have my Ngage QD and the 1st gen. But the QD's OS keeps giving a "System Error" when turning on the phone. I have tried a hard reset but to no avail. I have no idea if there is a way to Flash new firmware/OS onto the phone to get it running again.
I still have mine looking brand new. I believe the main reason it failed to reach popularity is because it was stupidly expensive.
i rewatched your video 😂 because I am kinda miss my ngage QD.
I was an N-gage owner back in the days. People called me weird to play on the go. Now look at every one 😁😁. I enjoyed fm radio and playing.
This was my dream phone which I never got to have. I use an iPhone 14 pro now but I still long for an N-GAGE QD, but I can't find it anywhere
I've still got the first gen taco N-Gage and a bunch of games for it, and the phone still works like a charm. I obviously don't use it as a daily but I'm glad I have it as a collector's piece. It's such unique phone. And though it's got its own issues, it's still a bold decision by Nokia to go that route, and I'm glad they did.
im planning on buying a feature phone mostly for java games. Does any one know of any with comfortable direction keys
How did you buy them new?
Loved my qd, I mainly used as a sms/GG emulator machine and as a ebook reader
Well, Nokia has made N81 with gaming keys as a reference N-Gage 2.0 device, so this may be a the last Nokia entry to gaming phones, not QD.
Thanks for reminding me about that device. I actually owned the N81 8Gb haha. What I meant was "dedicated gaming phone", the N series devices were all round multimedia beasts
@@AbdullaZaki very true and good video mate ☺️. N-gage 2.0 felt and was marketed more as a service, so it was nice to use on my N78 back in the day.
Good to see you here Adrian 😁 even though Ngage service was a nice addition to their phones, if Nokia had their wits together they could have created their own online gaming store on multiple platform. Hindsight of course...
The major problem with n-gage was lack of camera. Camara was major attraction with respect to gaming durng 2004-2007.
MY FIRST PHONE WHEN IM IN THE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL HAHAHA... MISS IT 🥲
From where can I buy Nokia Lumia phones
Ebay, refurbished
I remember having an ngage QD and game boy when I was a kid. Main problem with QD was there were hardly any games on this so even though I really liked it I played mostly on my gameboy.
in which shop did you buy it?
I had one of these ! I loved it
Can you help me in getting Nokia Ngage qd complete body with cover rubber strip ? Please I love this set to . And have it in working condition but can not find its parts.
I'm surprised to spot this mobile in "blue beetle" movie. Used as a detonation gadget device.😊
what is weird about the charging port exactly?
This was my very first device in 2007 ❤❤❤❤❤.
can you tell me where to buy it?
I sold my Nokia 6600 for this bad boy. Loved it... 😭
We used to call the 6600 the panda here haha. Good stuff
I am crying 😢 I had nGage qd and then buy nGage and I still need one with android please?
Ngage is pure early 2000s aesthetics
I feel the boxes were more beautiful then now ❤️
Was waiting for the next Nokia feature phone video!
Probably has failed in global sales but damn, in Malaysia, NGage was a king
Nokia devices setting-up sound like a loading gun.
I had one!!! I loved it! Eapecially tony hawk
Where to buy sir 😢
The best series in my uni years…it looks great beside the Taco brother too…
I wasn't really able to get a hold of a Nokia NGage but I got a phone the S60v2 phones that can play NGage games.
