    I really loved the concept of this video and the editing, so creative ! Loved it. I am loving your videos so much and saving all the tips. Getting back to jewellery after studying it over 10 years ago but got busy with kids and life. Trying to set up a studio at home and hopefully sell. Thank you for sharing!

    Basia you’re so adorable, i can’t take it 😍🤗😂 that intro!! But seriously, your energy and your videos are so incredibly uplifting and it made me more confident with joining the makers community - it’s such a wonderful place! That tool also looks amazing. A fellow jeweller of mine made a ring that has that wider tapered shape on each side, only it’s got a more pronounced “waist” and sharper angles, but since we don’t have a took like that he did it entirely on a ring mandrel, which is insane to me, it’s soo much work… i’ve been looking at tools like this one for a while, so i might actually give it a try now.

    When using silver wire for rings, it’s it advantageous to use dead soft vs half hard to begin? Will half hard quickly become to hard to work with or will dead soft be too soft to hold shape?

    I'm not sure I understood, did you mean hammering will enlarge the size (the diameter) or the width of the ring?

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  2 роки тому

      yes! Of course it will depend on how much you hammer, the difference might not be significant. But if you do hammer a lot, it can be a lot, even half a size. So it's better consider this prior to hammering

    Hiya Lady Stardust, how much did they have to pay you to endorse, 'AspinAring'? What a wonderful advert, the parody was spot on, thank you it's been a while since I laughed so hard. The staging was perfect, turning into each comment, the glasses completed the costume perfectly. The product box was perfection. Now the actual, AsinAring, is well made, I like the hammered/not hammered finish. They polished up perfectly and looked like they were actually made by a professional jeweller??? Hehehe. As if you weren't!!! I've only seen a ball punch used before, and that looked so much easier. Well done, and yes loads more of these please, fire up our imaginations ready to build for ourselves. Your easy to follow tutorial was perfect, thank you for that too.
    Stay safe, Steve...

      Oooh, a professional jeweller, who's that?? 😁 But yes, I've practiced my polishing and I like the effects. Soon I should be able to make the promised video about polishing.
      Thank you Steve, I'm excited for next videos, as I have more ideas and I'm excited to experiment with the format some more. I will also improve my lighting and sound! So I'm positive that future videos should only get better with the quality! :))
