@Maybe its Just me those two statements aren't mutually exclusive. If he's telling the truth, before Obama got a chance to even mention an endorsement, biden asked him not to. Now it's likely he's lying, but those two statements aren't inherently contradictory

I could see that. Obama was heavily campaigning for Hillary. He was heavily campaigning in Florida before the Midterms. Dems lost both races. Maybe it's true, maybe Biden actually thinks he's better off without Obamas endorsement. Plus, this is one of the reasons the Democrats lost last time. Almost the entire party establishment had endorsed HRC before the primary actually had begun, and therefore had alienated a good part of the democratic base. If we look at battleground states like PA, we can see that, compared to 2012, Trump didn't get far more votes than Romney did, it's more like the Democrats lost 300.000 votes from 2012. I believe Obama will wait and get behind whoever wins the nomination.
