Making a small pouch, or in my case, an ultralight backpacking wallet using the Zipper Pouch Kit with Dyneema Composite Fabric from Ripstopbytheroll.com. This is really easy and I used the 2.92 oz DCF Hybrid for an all-around more rugged pouch while sacrificing a bit on weight and packability. The greatest part is you can pick any color, really ...any, from the Outdoorink selection. OutdoorINK - the world's first print on-demand outdoor fabric capability featuring high-end ripstop nylon, polyester, and more.
The 2.92 oz DCF is also much stiffer than the 1.0 oz DCF, which is useful when frequently pulling items in and out (e.g. using as a wallet). Note that DZP pouches in current product photo use 1.0 oz DCF.
Each DZP kit includes all the items (*except thread) to make your chosen size pouch. On top of that, we laser cut your Dyneema fabric blank in-house so you can open the box and start sewing right away. Kit includes:
Material
Dyneema Composite Fabric blank, laser cut to exact size and ready to sew
Components (*prepackaged)
(12") #3 Uretek YKK coil zipper
(1) #3 reverse-mount YKK slider
(6") 1.5 mm Black Drawcord
(6”) 3/4" mil-spec grosgrain
For about $10 and about 15 minutes build time, these Dyneema® pouch kits offer a simple project that's tough to beat. Select your desired size above and get started!
Approx Finished DZP sizes/weights/uses
Small - 4.25" wide x 3.25" tall (4 grams) - cash, credit cards, change, etc.

Thank you for this. Just made one out of grid stop nylon and some recycled parts from dress pants. You did a great job with the explanation
Glad to see more DIY videos.
Yes, now that the new home remodel is dwindling down I can get back to the fun stuff. I have a lot of down waiting in the wings
That looks like a fun kit project!
It was fun. Super easy. I am thinking of making some custom ones for my camera gear stuff like batteries and memory cards now
Awesome Vid Bruce! Just a note: The reason you had a little bit of trouble with the slider is because we include a Reverse Mount slider with the kit. it is designed to have the pull tab "up" and the waterproof shiny part of the zipper also up. It looks like you were mounting the slider with the teeth up.
Thanks a ton. I tried to follow the directions but they missed a few points. I will be doing this again for sure.
@@naturecallsoutdoors no worries. We should have a video out soon that shows the build from start to finish. I think videos are much easier to follow than written stuff.
If you don't have any idea what Dyneema is, it's a newer type of ballistic nylon, which is stronger than kevlar (Won't degrade in UV light like kevlar), waterproof and extremely resistant to cuts. This is literally one of the strongest man made fabrics ever made (not the strongest unfortunately, as that title goes to carbon nanotubes).
thanks Freddy. Great explanation.
That's awesome be that could be used as a rock toss bag if it was a little bigger
I think you would really like these kits now that you are getting into it.
Hello . Cool Channel
Thanks, you too. I agree on all the chemicals and stuff. I have made a big change the last few years and feel so good about it. I don't know the long term effects of course but I am sure it will be a good move to more control over the food intake. You are just north of me
Yes we are on Vancouver Island . Nice to see you Neighbor . Seasons Greetings From Howie and Missy
👀 👍
You sound is very tinny. A fun project though.
Yes for some reason my really nice mic decided to have an issue. Wasn't too happy about it. I used every trick in the book to tone it down too. It was a fun project though, and I did another one and didn't know the mic was messed up. Time for some testing
RIP headphone users
What sewing machine do you use?
It is a standard Kenmore. Does fine with most of what I do, but not perfect on when webbing or the material gets thick. Saving up for one that sailmakers use.
