Hey, we will bounce back and this is only the beginning of our get back so there will be ups and down. Besides, this is not our strongest lineup and Eric didn't make a tackle he tripped on the guy which caused the foul. This isn't the time to be disappointed in the team but time to see how the team reacts to this type of situation. MATS has been our most reliable keeper for a long time now, this is one of the only times he disappointed but let's not forget that this is a guy that made the 2018/19 defense look decent, when him and Leo were the only reliable player in that team. We've been through this last season and it completely disrupted our momentum for the rest of that season but now we have a coach that is known for his mentality, let's see how he manages to make this team even more lethal in the coming matches. This is the club of my life and I feel like after a long time a ray of sunshine is shining upon us and despite this minor setback I will never quit rooting for them.
Of course it is a bad start, no one will say otherwise, but what I really wanted to point out is that although we were down by a man in the first 10 minutes there was this perseverance of trying to win, and they managed to get it even, but it wasn’t enough. So you can’t imagine that Barca is going to win everything, let this be a shocker to improve what we have to improve and keep the mentality up.
Ter stegen literally gives the ball away near the box at least once per game . Regardless of this game he's been playing subpar lately. its really hard to analyze this game because they were a man down from 10 minutes into the game and flick shouldn't have started Garcia and should've opted for raphina cam moved pedri deeper and have ferran or ansu start on that left side
I don’t think this kills the teams form, we’ll see how morale holds up but this was a good performance with 10 men for 80 minutes. I don’t think it demerits our form. We played how we’ve been playing even with a disadvantage.
Honestly its so hard being a barca fan. Many groups of people hate this club, the club doesnt have good management and is poor, the club is inconsistent and underwhelming sometimes, and the club is just constantly plagued by injuries. I still have hope that we can prove people wrong...
All the excitement throughout the week man, all of it went down the drain after the red card. It was hard to live through the same thing and that too on a CL night. I think we should take the positives and move on, for starters the loss is not on Flick, the guy has all the key players out injured and practically working with scraps. The team looked shaky and fragile after the red card, but not as bad as last season. After half time we were structured and defended well as a team, which is why conceding the second goal the way that we did was even more painful but I digress. The team hasn’t been too good to soak up pressure in these big matches but we definitely competed much much better with 10 men, definitely a big improvement over last season though. Missed Olmo dearly today, I am genuinely surprised by how important he is for this side. As for Ter Stegen I have no words…
Big up for saying that Eric Garcia bears at least some responsibility for his red card. I get there's some long term frustration with Ter Stegen, but to say it's all on him is ridiculous.
If we return to 1:1 next summer and this winter. I'd like to see the money spent on a rotational, potential starting GK, also a rotational, potential starting 9, and a dm like Pepelu, rather than all of it on a Rafa Leao or Wirtz.
NONE of the blame should be on Eric. He’s in such a bad position and he made a dummy run to drag the forward and create space behind him. NO REASON AT ALL for ter shit to play that
I thought Raphina looked like a bum last year, this year he has looked much better but went back to being a bum today. No involvement and had two clear 1v1s, one of them being against the goalkeeper. Sad, especially for a man in tip top performance.
Wow wow robby calm down... that was a great match our boys stood their ground on this one... they played monaco really well especially in the 2nd half... we played really really well... kudos to the boys
I think we did good enough for the circumstances. I think the defense line worked really well at shrinking space for Embolo, they fell in outside some many times until they switched to CF. Also Casado and Balde got booked for talking to ref for a call they were right, these yellow cards should be removed.
Ngl i think you're being way too negative in this video. I for one am proud of the heart and skill barca showed in this game. A lesser would've folded under the pressure of going a man down, barca really held on and at times looked like they could've won. We know Ter Stegen is 100% to blame here but let's see the positives of the direction this team is heading in. There's no way with a full squad we would've lost this match.
Okay, Ter stegen must leave ( You can check my comment under his post supporting him But now I have had enough) and For any other gk of the top teams of the top 5 league, this is worst performance of their career, for ter stegen this is not even top 10 worst ucl performance
Ter Stegen's mistake affects everyone's overall performance. Strikers couldn't strike or play, midfielders couldn't control the midfield, defenders couldn't cover all the areas. Everyone was exhausted and frustrated, it's understandable they won't give their best performance due to the workload they need to do on the pitch when they are one man short.
Bruhh just at 10th min we were 10 man, The score line would've been completely different, Barca would've won, Just look how they played even with 10 man
3:10 if you look closely Eric was offering Stegen a pass to the space cause Minamino was pressing the short pass, so Eric didn’t expect a short pass there, bad reading and bad execution from Stegen. Yet again, that is not even foul, both hold each other and both fall.
Yall are delusional to expect so much after 6 games. But I have respect for this team now. They've improved alot. Imagine being 10 men down away from home. We finally have a very well coached team.
see the worst part about all of this is that we all know if this was madrid in our shoes, they would probably get a late equalizer to salvage a point, or even score the winner and prevent them from scoring their second because courtois is that good. we don't have that luck and it seems like any disadvantage we get immediately spirals into a loss or humiliation even.
It is not Normal Barca. I can see so many people upset but come on guys. These team is very talented but don’t have experience. Eric had to make decisions and he made wrong one.
Also Eric was running away from terstegan when terstegan passed the ball. Like Eric was surrounded by three players with one right at his back he turns thinking I'm no longer an option and then gets the pass it was 95% of terstegan and 5%on Eric for just reacting
Let’s not talk about Eric Garcia because Ter Stegen had three options at that point; give it to Inigo, or Curbasi. The last option was to clear it out but he failed to to all and would rather pass it to Garcia who was under pressure from Minamino.
what we all have to understand that we need a real good goalkeeper mainly because of the style we play . and sadly about eric .. we dont hv someone as a sub .. he was always average .. not barca levels same with ingo
You can't expect Barcelona to press when we were playing with 10 players. Pressing requires 2 players and won't be smart to sacrifice 2 players to press while in the midfield we are outnumbered. It was going to be suicidal for Barcelona instead deep low block was the only solution and we will do fast counterattack.
Most fans are asking for Ter Stegen to be replaced as he fails in all big matches (can't handle well Champions League pressure). It was a red card, because it Eric was the last defender, the intensity doesn't matter in these cases. It was 100% Ter Stegen's fault for trying to pass to the pressed man, when they were so many free team mates. He forced Eric to foul and we had to play 80 minutes one man down.
calm down it was the first game of the ucl we still have many more to go I know Hansi Flick learned from this game no reason to hate the team this much they still played well with only 10 players on the field.
Let's not overreact to the early win streak or this defeat because we're still waiting for a lot of injured players to come back. I'd take this match more as a warning that we have won nothing yet and still aren't the best possible team.
Pedri showed up after the red card. He contained pressure and created attacks. I believe his was our best player overall. However, with big strikers like the boys faced today, Araujo would've been exceptional.
real Barca fans know we are gonna absolutely dominate football as long as we have our mentality that’s why they signed flick the confidence he can bring into the players Xavi was to strict the talent from la másia will bring greatness again winning for years straight mark another dot into history a new decade begins since last Barca won a ucl 2015
Ter stegen has been doing too many errors and we cant keep trying to defend him... at least good thing we showed some answer and kept trying and attacking and even tying it up, but sadly in 10 men its pretty hard and in the end we lost.. But we shouldnt be too sad but still believe on the team that did still put up a fight ! Visca barça next match is gonna be better ❤💙
Cubarsi is amazing but he has 2 fatal flaws, pace and heading but he saved our asses several times this game. Its like he bails the team out but nobody ever bails him out in return. He deserves a better partner in the back because inigo seems inept and has a poor mentality for a squad veteran, ter stegen is never saving a cubarsi mistake but cubarsi did it from our very first game this season against valencia.
in our last 2 champions league games our players preferred to get a red card over leaving the opponent player with a 1v1 against ter stegen that says alot. He wil hold us back for sure worst keeper among all top clubs.
I hate to be so negative, but if you think we have a chance in the UCL with players like Eric Garcia, an old version of Lewa, Iñigo Martinez, an inexperienced Casado, an inconsistent Raphinha as starters then you gotta think again. On top of that our subs are Ferran, Fati who’s barely returning from injury, Sergi Dominguez, Gerard Martin and Pablo Torre. C’mon now, they may be able to do well in La Liga, but when it comes to facing teams across Europe we’re not gonna be performing the way we want to. We need our Star players to stay healthy and we need to reinforce the LW and ST position before we start succeeding in the UCL. I’m not sure why y’all are so upset, a loss was bound to happen eventually, I’m just glad we didn’t get absolutely destroyed.
I think this would have been a very similarly frustrating match even if we don't go down to 10 men. Those first 10 minutes were just so pedestrian, everyone sort of looked tired and out of place. The chemistry in the Girona game was 100 then today it was -100. It was just awful. And I also fully agree about the red card foul, it should have been looked by VAR, minamino just throws himself. But I think it gave us an excuse (10 men) for a very very frustrating game, which would have been same without the red card as well.
Lol we played considerably well with 10 men. U dont know how the match would have progressed without the red card. 2-1 is a decent scorelines considering the circumstances.
Eric garcia was not giving himself as an option by dropping back, He’s freeing up space in the middle for statue by taking a player with him. He had an option to his left or right or just kick it out but he choose to make the only wrong option available to him. Even an amateur football has more brains than him
It is Ter Steguen fault not the rest of team. The team lost with one goal difference. They didn’t beat us 4-1. I don’t agree with you. Team fought 80 minutes with one man down. It is not easy for such a young team.

@@NoCluYTyes😂 its better to be a goal down than a man down
This puts us in a position where we need 2pts minimum for the Dortmund and Bayern games if we want a top8 finish. So either a win in one of them, or two draws, and ofc win the other fixtures (although the Benfica one is gonna be very tough).
Eric Garcia has little to no blame on the red card, he could’ve let Minamino through, but Ter Stegen had 4 CLEAR passes to both CBs and wingbacks. He just made a poor choice.
It's obvious that it was fully stegan's fault. But Eric shouldn't have fouled. It's better to be a goal down than a man down.
Ur right. Better concede than play with 10 men, that too for 90 minutes. Should have learned from that pissg game
@@auhmav04 true. Araujo did a same mistake.
Memories were still fresh from PSG match and exactly the same thing happened again. I am remind reminding u all, that we were also winning that match. 2 goal lead and pressure was on the psg. But then, arajuo happened. I still believe in the hansi and team. We still are waiting for some of our best players to come out from injuries. And we still lost with 1 goal difference with 10 men. It's not all that bad. Just keep believing. I'd still believe even if we don't go further than group stage. Way better than being a glory hunter fan of some other club.
Everyone blaming ter stegen for one mistake and forgets all the saves he did after... such clowns
Dude is so melodramatic and negative. We put up a fight for the whole game that's something.
Ter statue man of the match for Monaco
Raphinha had two clear cut chances and panicked
Bro should have chipped the goalkeeper
Good game overall (a man down for 80 minutes) could have been worst.
I did see the ghost of Lionel Messi when Lamal scored the equalizer
Stegen sent Garcia off and failed to stop a shot that was fired straight at him for the second goal. 2/10 performance….
Ter stegen is a cancer to this team
Ter stegen literally gives the ball away near the box at least once per game . Regardless of this game he's been playing subpar lately. its really hard to analyze this game because they were a man down from 10 minutes into the game and flick shouldn't have started Garcia and should've opted for raphina cam moved pedri deeper and have ferran or ansu start on that left side
I don’t think this kills the teams form, we’ll see how morale holds up but this was a good performance with 10 men for 80 minutes. I don’t think it demerits our form. We played how we’ve been playing even with a disadvantage.
Cheer up boys. It’s going to be okay it’s better to have this experience now so the team gets stronger and more prepared
Bro this hurt more now the fact we had a good momentum,so only positive out of this match was lamine yamal.
Ter Stegen needs to leave honestly.
NO REASON AT ALL for ter shit to play that
The title is what a barcelona fan's life has been since almost a decade
imo if not have ter stegen done that pass to Garcia and booted it up long, we would have had that game 😭
Bruh exactly!! I dont know why he insists on passing the ball short to cb or wb every effing time. When in doubt, kick the ball to the other side….
@@ronha8852 he’s tryna play the old Barca style, playing from the back. The one thing flick doesn’t want most of the time
Felt like watching Xaviball
I thought Raphina looked like a bum last year, this year he has looked much better but went back to being a bum today. No involvement and had two clear 1v1s, one of them being against the goalkeeper. Sad, especially for a man in tip top performance.
Wow wow robby calm down... that was a great match our boys stood their ground on this one... they played monaco really well especially in the 2nd half... we played really really well... kudos to the boys
Be thankful it happened in the first game of the ucl, changes will arrive with it.
La Liga Barca and UEFA Barca are not the same. If they struggling with Monaco, imagine Bayern
Monaco is a good team but current bayern might be bad but after that we have el clasico
You probably didn’t watch the match
1 man down with 80 mins to play 2-1 is actually amazing
Yall must think its easy to play with 10 men
Bruhh just at 10th min we were 10 man, The score line would've been completely different, Barca would've won, Just look how they played even with 10 man
3:10 if you look closely Eric was offering Stegen a pass to the space cause Minamino was pressing the short pass, so Eric didn’t expect a short pass there, bad reading and bad execution from Stegen. Yet again, that is not even foul, both hold each other and both fall.
Fans are being too harsh ,I am proud of the team. We kept fighting right to the end even with 10 men . Xavi’s team would have conceded 5
Yall are delusional to expect so much after 6 games. But I have respect for this team now. They've improved alot. Imagine being 10 men down away from home. We finally have a very well coached team.
see the worst part about all of this is that we all know if this was madrid in our shoes, they would probably get a late equalizer to salvage a point, or even score the winner and prevent them from scoring their second because courtois is that good. we don't have that luck and it seems like any disadvantage we get immediately spirals into a loss or humiliation even.
ter stegen being ter stegen in UCL 🥰🥰 destroying barca since 2016
Well... back to normal barca
It's one loss
It was fun while it lasted...
10 v 11
It was not a normal barca it was 10 vs 11
I cant be angry at Garcia, he got set up for failure
Garcia ran towards the box expecting a pass and then fouled someone
Flick has 2 options
- Raid la Masia again
- Teach Peña and Ter Salami the fusion dance
We told you about Ter Statue, and you called us haters. This game is on him
Let's not overreact to the early win streak or this defeat because we're still waiting for a lot of injured players to come back. I'd take this match more as a warning that we have won nothing yet and still aren't the best possible team.
1:12 Stop it, it's a straight red . That's the rules .
Pedri showed up after the red card. He contained pressure and created attacks. I believe his was our best player overall. However, with big strikers like the boys faced today, Araujo would've been exceptional.
Bro Lamine and Casado were our best players yesterday
real Barca fans know we are gonna absolutely dominate football as long as we have our mentality that’s why they signed flick the confidence he can bring into the players Xavi was to strict the talent from la másia will bring greatness again winning for years straight mark another dot into history a new decade begins since last Barca won a ucl 2015
TER STEGEN OUT TER STEGEN OUT TER STEGEN OUT TER STEGEN OUT TER STEGEN OUT
Ter stegen has been doing too many errors and we cant keep trying to defend him... at least good thing we showed some answer and kept trying and attacking and even tying it up, but sadly in 10 men its pretty hard and in the end we lost.. But we shouldnt be too sad but still believe on the team that did still put up a fight ! Visca barça next match is gonna be better ❤💙
💯 on Ter Stegan. He is not that good any more. When you are one man down, when your team is already full of injuries, you have no choice.
How we played with 10 men and Monaco has the most offsides?
This was impressive tbh
Here the game started at 3 in the morning. STayed up to watch the game and suffice to say I regretted my decision 😭
Bwahahaha i still remember the confidence before the match 😂
Cubarsi is amazing but he has 2 fatal flaws, pace and heading but he saved our asses several times this game. Its like he bails the team out but nobody ever bails him out in return. He deserves a better partner in the back because inigo seems inept and has a poor mentality for a squad veteran, ter stegen is never saving a cubarsi mistake but cubarsi did it from our very first game this season against valencia.
This guy has bad ball knowledge
Ter stegen was in the wrong. Both goal he fu**ed up big time
Courtuah over there singlehandedly winning madrid matches while our biggest opp is ter stegan
6, 6.5 for cubarsi and inigo,?,, are you kidding me. They were amazing today.
in our last 2 champions league games our players preferred to get a red card over leaving the opponent player with a 1v1 against ter stegen that says alot. He wil hold us back for sure worst keeper among all top clubs.
NGL, I saw Yamal dribble and shoot similar to that of Arjen Robben.
Rudiger chocks and pushes an opponent while in the air and doesn't even get a caution. Meanwhile Barca gets red for every little offence.
Four is too high for ter minate the contract lol, he is a goalkeeper that is horribly consistent at making mistakes
I feel bad for cubarci and yamal they were the best players that game no doubt
No this is all ter stegens fault
Homeboy threw himself to the ground
Eric garcia was not giving himself as an option by dropping back, He’s freeing up space in the middle for statue by taking a player with him. He had an option to his left or right or just kick it out but he choose to make the only wrong option available to him. Even an amateur football has more brains than him
It is Ter Steguen fault not the rest of team. The team lost with one goal difference. They didn’t beat us 4-1. I don’t agree with you. Team fought 80 minutes with one man down. It is not easy for such a young team.
Ur right. They played well with 10 men and didnt concede 4 goals like last season.
