This show is just so juicy with lores and clues, so much going on that makes u watch and rewatch to figure out what u missed and if ur theories is right 😊
So just listening to u guys talk about the string that Cal placed on the doll in order to controle the doll...what if thats what the string was for that was placed on Emma?? Cal literally placed it on the dolls hand 🤔
What if the old lady gained controle of Emma the moment she placed the string on her wrist? She could posses and controle Emma at will but Emma didn't understand the next part of the contract. "Three wishes for YOUR LIFE Emma" is what the witch said. I keep saying that each time Emma does these wierd things she appears to be in a trance...she walked into traffic and almost got hit, the day she walked out on Apollo and said "you dont see but u will", and the night she did the ritual that strait up was not Emma she looked possessed. And especially parts of episode 6 when she levitated and glowed.
What if that day in the forrest when she took the pic is the 1st time the witch took over? Even if the intention was to be able to access Emma at will as long as the string was still in tack with the intention to actually help her fulfill her 3 wishes, but Apollo broke the contract/string. She was warned not to cut, and when it got cut the wishes were forfeited and now the witch has full access to her life 🤔🤔
Also...KG said "i didn't know my name EITHER"
Is he implying that Apollo doesn't know his real name? Which would confirm that Apollo is endeed a changeling 🤔🤔🤔

      Great thoughts 💭
I had mentioned in one of the episodes that I think she may be being controlled like a voodoo doll based on exactly what you had said. Then last night I noticed that on a few occasions the lagoon witch face and Emma's face would do a jump cut, almost telling us that you are really looking at the lagoon witch in that moment not Emma. The last wish was also for "the beyond" which we may want to keep in mind. I think there is a very good chance Emma is a bit of a puppet at times in the show.
Now Apollo I agree something is afoot. His mom tells him in Brian's room that she felt like he had disappeared and how you exist in two different planes of existence.
Im gonna say something crazy lol but there are times I feel like Lillian isn't the one who came out of the scene where she runs after Brian Sr, I don't trust his mom lol

    Nice discussion again, guys
Now that I’m caught up my answer to the question, my theory, is that she went further into “the dreaming world” - possibly to find Brian. Cal talks about how it’s possible to get their babies back, but maybe Emma is the only one who has the strength to do such a thing because of her ability.
“Babies are a dream made real” - one of the early episodes has a poster behind Apollo that says “follow your dream” (specifically dream, not dreams)
I think this is a world-of-darkness style reality in which all these things live along side us and only a mortal with some sort of connection can see past the reality of the mundane

      Thanks 😊
Yeah I think that's a fair assessment, I wouldn't even rule out they go through a mirror 🪞 or looking glass. The mirror references are heavy, almost every scent. Even during the birth of Brian they show us the mirrored ceiling of the subway 🚇
I wouldn't be surprised if he needs to go into "the woods" the find her... Into the wild.

Oooo good theories. I agree the lore is invisible to the human eye. Loreians can choose to left the vail from over humans eyes.

@Nuzz008 and that is exactly what happened when Apollo placed the string on his finger, the veil was lifted and that's why he saw the island. The string itself is enchanted and connected to that world.
I still strongly believe that Apollo is no mere mortal but the string is what really got him to the island 🏝️ 🤔

@@thescreensleuthsalso is it me or on the night that Emma and Apollo had their 1st date night after having the baby, did Emma see the island while they were on the ferry?? There was a point where Apollo was talking and she was staring at something.
Remember the picture that was sent to Emma of her holding the baby in the apartment by the window?...she saw something that time as well 🤔🤔

@warrick3w881 I didn’t see that but I’ll look. I did notice this time around the hatred in Williams face when Apollo pointed out the island though.

William's actor is the lead singer of a synthpop band called Future Islands, and he is an incredible performer. If you want to see him REALLY shed his face, look up a live performance of Tin Man. Sam being in the show is how I heard about it and why I started watching. It surprised me that they put him in what seemed like a major role but he's not a very experienced actor, but... you'll see why he's nailing this role.
...And then if you think their bass player looks familiar it's because he played the art gallery owner!
I think "North Sister Island" is funny and I thought the same thing, but I didn't think that irony was the reason the author chose to set the story here. It's a surprisingly wild and abandoned place in New York City with a tragic history. People were quarantined there, essentially held prisoner because they were dangerous through no fault of their own.

I feel like there’s a connection to Apollo and his dad. They both were persistent when going after women with ties to witches. It’s also not sitting right with me that both talked bout having a baby on the first date or marriage. My question is, why do Apollo and his dad feel so strongly about being a father? It’s a weird attraction from what I’ve noticed. Is it a need to breed? What if changeling adults feel drawn to witch bloodlines because that’s the only way they can reproduce more changelings.
Also, I think apollos dad knew he was a dark elf/fairy. That’s why he’s mom left his dad and kept Apollo away from him. Apollos mom Lilian is hiding so much. I think she killed Apollos dad because he tried to take him to a different detention.
As for William he is either a troll literally and physically or he’s a fairy or half breed.

Well said. When reviewing this kind stuff we try to look at the background more than the foreground. The answers are usually in that the other characters say or do any the writers ✍🏼 use distractions in those scenes.
Brian West has been "forgotten" about but most certainly was something else.
Both relationships also had a interracial parents and the father was white in both.
The way Emma's mother seemed to know her father would come back into the house by saying she didn't want them to be orphans was interesting 🤔 and the house 🔥 is oddly similar to the burning witches at the stake.
I am also skeptical 🧐 of Emma's sister, when she says it wasn't suppose to be this way.
Fun fact the check he gave her was dated Friday 13th.
Thanks for watching and engaging, we appreciate it!
      Stay curious 🔍

A lot of good observations. One simple answer to the fatherhood thing is that both Apollo and his dad grew up without reliable, nurturing fathers. I think in the show, Dad Brian just says something like "I don't wanna talk about my childhood", but in the book his father was an abusive alcoholic. Then obviously for whatever reasons, Dad Brian wasn't around to raise Apollo. Still don't know why Apollo would wanna name his own son after his deadbeat dad though

They talk about glamour last episode I think that the little girl that stumbled 2x is Emma in glamour , emma I think is at least part witch and Apollo may have been a changeling ( so I agree with your assumption about the changeling being in the suitcase, and Brian ( Apollo father ) is the same as William they are both from Norwegian

That is a really interesting idea and does track with what we saw in the scene. I will need to keep this in mind as I rewatch and prep for next week.
I (Chris) have been thinking that either Brain West or The Apollo Changeling is in the suitcase 💼
But I also feel like Apollo is not all human or at least has some aura of protection him.
Emma could be part witch, her parents were interesting, again interracial and the father doesn't grab her mother, he just goes back in.
Like a witch burning 🔥 and her mother's pleas not to make them orphans leads me to believe she knew the father was coming back in.
Anyway I need to rewatch again and again, there are little clues throughout I need to 🧩 together.
Great comment and thanks for reaching out!
