Great interview. Been a Moore can since the 80's and the days of 2000AD. I've just finished The Great When and thoroughly enjoyed it. Gonna try Jerusalem next...
This feels easy to confess given his recent books. But I do honestly feel, Alan's more recent work over the last 10-20 years is much more interesting than his previous DC stuff. I'll admit to always being a little intimidated by his writing, but I am currently halfway through "The Great When" and it's the most fun I've had reading in a long time. Jerusalem is huge obviously and I am on my second read through just finishing the "Burrows" this week. Always an interesting interview to listen to when he speaks. Ok enough gushing 😅
I'm not a comic book person but I've always wanted to read Alan Moore. When I read about this book releasing I put near the top of my TBR and figured this would be my first Moore book. Instead, recently while playing a game and having a youtube video about v for vendetta (the movie) on the background, the guy kept comparing it to the comic and I got a this urge to read it and ordered the deluxe edition. Which will now be my first Moore book/comic lol
Watchmen is great. The film - not so much. There's a pretty good stop motion (if that's the term?) version on UA-cam. I'm not a comic guy either but Moore is different.
@@JamesMc2051 Fun story, Watchmen actually ended up being my first Alan Moore book! I kept watching videos about Alan Moore and in almost every video ranking his books/comics Watchman came out on top. Then I saw that the deluxe edition of Watchman had same day delivery on Amazon, and I figured I could read that while I waited for my V for Vendetta copy (which literally came the next day at that point but I have no patience lol) I have little experience with comics so expected to finish it in a day. The only comic I had read before that (as an adult) was Trauma Team (Cyberpunk 2077), which a friend got me for my birthday. I finished that in like 10/15 minutes. Anyway, I was not prepared for how incredibly good Watchmen is. I've read 7 or 8 chapters so far but haven't had the time to read more in the past week or two. It kinda blew me away. I also have the deluxe edition for V for Vendetta on my shelf and I'm planning to buy the master edition of From Hell after that.
@@3choblast3r4 Watchmen is amazing. I haven't read masses of comics either. My friend as a teenager was into them and I read some Batman and X Men stuff from him. They were okay but it's all very by the book. Then someone passes you Watchmen and there's someone ripping the genre to bits, seeing the ridiculous bits for what they are, both elevating and criticising the form, and doing all these clever structure and design things like you might expect in an Alaistar Gray novel. I'm not at all an expert but Watchmen, for me, had more invention than anything I'd ever read in that genre, by far. Of his other comics, I liked From Hell but not as much. I will get around to his novels someday.
It blew me away that the interviewer brought up Gaza not sure if you’ll see this but I’m really happy that you did
Thank you, Rick. A very interesting discussion. Alan Moore was thoroughly compelling, as usual.

You could briefly see Melinda Gebbie walking in the background with a cup of tea. Glad to see she's doing well!
Great interview great queations
Rick seems like such a nice fella and you can tell Alan respects him. Great interview.
Thank you for this lovely interview!

great little interview
Fascinating 🧐 conversation,Gentlemen. Looking forward to reading this 🖖♾
Wonderful interview! :)
The Spare painting that Alan's mentioned is often called The Vampires Are Coming. The Face of Pan is a fine alternate title, though!
Thank you for that info
