Ahh good old dania and port Everglades. Cut my teeth on that water there. Caught my first snook in whisky creek. Fished there non stop until I moved to Missouri. Born and raised in broward.
Manufaturer's put out a "recommended max" but as long as you don't go too high of Hp you should be good haha. maybe a 70 or 75 would be too much (i'd still do it cause i can)
jj mor you can still hit some pretty nasty shit, just take the plug out. a 13 will stay on plane 3/4 full of water with a 50 on it. Just don't slow down too fast
As great as it is to put a 55hp outboard on a 13ft whaler, the problem with insurance will be that big a motor on a hull rated for 40hp max. it is overpowered in their eyes.
Called a "suicide knob" for a reason so get rid of that. Seat needs to flip up so standing is an option so that's no good. No "handle bar" in the center for ingress and egress etc etc. Nice music tho.

I had a 13 whaler with a 50 when I was a kid. After 2 seasons in NY of being driven by a kid the transom was wobbly.
The boat manufacturer does not recommend that size engine, states max 40HP, true?
yup, I drove one of these all summer with a 50 on it
hell of a fun ride
must be on calmed waters, I guess

all right, thanks!
cool man, like your soundtrack too, keep on living
everyone puts too big motors they are aft heavy ruins the boat
absolutely... this boat is rated for 40hp max. Good luck getting insurance with the 55 on this.
Seeing how he drove it just makes me not want to buy it
That a long shaft on a 15” transom?
Is this still available
I'm so tempted to fit my 1998 Evinrude 115SPL on my '74 Boston Whaler 13...
it would never work, not to mention you'd destroy the boat. it's overpowered with this 55.
is this babe still for sale? just wondering!
How fast did this go? GPS?
Is that a long shaft on a 15" transom?
Yes
It could use a Sting Ray Hydrofoil stabilizer on the lower unit. It would ride much better!
Hey is this still for sale?
