Note on the Druzba: They taste much better fully fully ripe. Very ripe 'Druzba' has sweeter taste and flesh is not grainy.

Brian I love the intro, the jazz is so relaxing. Your tomatoes have been SO successful this year! I can see a big difference from last year. MASSIVE, beautiful tomatoes, gotta love it. Your channel is growing fast just like your garden, keep it up.
It has been another good tomato year. It is also nice that they are producing lots to be able to share. Looks like we have this phase of tomato growing locked down. The next goal is to grow "production mode." We'll look to grow some plants and have even MORE tomatoes to share!! We can thank my wife for suggesting a different music style. I've grown Druzba for a couple of years and they're great. Very meaty and, yes, on the acidic side - but that's what I want on my BLTs.
There is a tomato for every situation. I am glad you found a good one for your BLTs!

Hey Brian is the Druzba an heirloom? Are you growing any hybrid tomatoes this year?
Hey, Lucas. The Druzba is an heirloom. With so many heirlooms to grow, I cannot remember the last time that I grew hybrids. This year I am growing a couple of hybrids-- the Suncherry Extra Sweet and Sun Gold.
Funny you should ask about hybrid tomatoes. The current tomato plants are ramping down on production and my transplants took a hit from the heatwave. With no plants to go in right away I am thinking about getting some hybrid transplants to put in.
I personally plant mainly hybrids with some heirlooms on the side. Heirlooms generally don't produce well for me, unfortunately. That being said I was really successful with Pink Brandywine (Quisenberry strain) one year. I grow them more as a novelty.
I hope you find some heirlooms that are to your liking and tastes. I wished that I had more intimate knowledge of your climate to suggest some to try. Hybrids are great for the reasons you stated. They let folks grow tomatoes where it is not easy to.
