Yorkshire watercolour artist Ashley Jackson at his first studio Dodworth at the age of 24 - talking about his paintings, Yorkshire and the landscape, as passionate then as he is now. This footage has been digitalised and archived by the University of Huddersfield.Filmed by the late John Hoyland, of Barnsley Cine Club. It shows the young Ashley Jackson combining his trade as a skilled signwriter in the Barnsley area with his burgeoning career as a landscape artist, making frequent painting expeditions to the Yorkshire Dales.
