  • It was while trying to distinguish between fact and fiction in his own family that Aiden Feerick came to study genealogy. After completing a three year Certificate course in Genealogy at University College Dublin under Mr Sean J Murphy, MA, he joined a fellow classmate, John Hamrock, who had just set up a genealogical research company, Ancestor Network Ltd. For the last several years, Aiden has researched different aspects of families throughout the island of Ireland and beyond. This research has involved tracing families through Census and Land records, business directories and Church records. He has also traced the Irish relatives of families who had immigrated to the USA and are now living there and been the facilitator at such family reunions.
In a life before genealogy, Aiden read Classical Languages at University College, Dublin. After graduation, he had been mainly a teacher; this activity was interspersed with spells of broadcasting and journalism. Before returning to Ireland, he had spent almost a quarter of a century in Italy, mainly in Rome.
Aiden Feerick's show and contribution to the genealogy radio show is amazing. Land records are notoriously difficult in Ireland and Aiden makes them easy for you to understand and decipher your Irish roots.
As well as being a member of AGI, Aiden is also a member of the Genealogical Society of Ireland, the Irish Genealogical Research Society and the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) in the USA.
