Probably not what you want to hear but I think the windscreen has to be removed. It's either water ingress from a failed bond or corroded aperture face. Take a look at your screen. If it doesn't have "Renault" printed on it it's almost definitely been replaced at some point. Doesn't mean if it say Renault it hasn't been replaced as it could have had a factory screen fitted as a replacement. If you've got windscreen cover on your insurance....you could "accidently " damage it and get a new screen fitted that way. Hope that helps mate 👍
Interesting video, and your trying hard to make it a viable project, sadly its a vauxhall vivaro, there full of problems engine management issues and power boost problems if its not happened yet beware its on the horizon, having said that,,,,that it's van life,,,,enjoy.
Thanks mate and to be fair, most vans have their issues and the tvps especially the older ones tend to run quite well 👍. I just hope I get no more suprises down the down ☹️
More than likely your leak is coming from the seal around the aerial , it’s probably broke the seal around it after going in the car park, the water will follow the roof lining until it hits the windscreen making it look like it’s coming from there. Find the nut holding the aerial on loosen it enough to squirt some sealant under the aerial And tighten back down 🤞that works
Sika Flex the aerial, the multi-storey could've moved the base and caused the leak under the base or claim for a new windscreen "on the insurance". It can only be coming from two places aerial or windscreen try the easy one first. Those seat covers look great gonna have to get some of those once I get some more freedom units.
That's a very good point mate 👍 never thought of that! I've done a budget repair for now but I think having a further look at the ariel is a good shout 🙂
@@BrendanExplores Had fun and games with mine last week with the sealing strip coming loose on the near side at the top of the windscreen and flapping on the roof on the motorway, was sure I was gonna lose it, but got to the services and got a bead of silicone along it and put gaffer tape on it till it cured, That reminds me I gotta get the gaffer tape back off. 😀
Buy a temporary building structure like a marque, they are often taller than your van. You can google the words car tent and find some options. Build an awning to the side of your house.

PERMATEX 81730 - FLOWABLE SILICONE FIX WINDSCREEN & GLASS LEAK SEALER (42g) Used this to fix around the windscreen of my car. Seals between the glass and the rubber. Lasted 4 years so far …. Good lick
It’s highly likely that the screen has been replaced as you suspected. I couldn’t quite see, is there an aerial up there as that may need sealing. As for the screen is it was mine I would run masking tape along top edge of the glass and the body work. Then buy a automotive sealant such as “Tigerseal” which is black, then basically fill the joint between the glass and the bodywork. Have a small cup with about 50 50 water and washing up liquid and smooth the sealant off by wetting your finger with the solution. If there is an aerial above the cab then the fittings will probably be underneath it, remove and again using the sealant to seal around it and refit the aerial.
I had a new windscreen fitted to my mk7 transit by national windscreens a couple of years ago was only £156 all in, I was really surprised as it’s a big old piece of glass
After bashing your arial in the carpark I vote your seal is leaking on the Arial and it's weeping in the head liner will be soaking it up until of course it runs down your windscreen..

Ah that sucks about the leak! hope you get it sorted, could be just that you need the windscreen removing like when you have it replaced and sealing again maybe? or even a new windscreen altogether! Those seat covers are a nice upgrade though and the bodywork repairs were great too! Really smartened it up a bit 🙂
Hi there, I had a similar problem with my Yeti 4x4 leaking panoramic sunroof (a common issue apparently) & to take the roof out & fit a new rubber seal I was told by the main agent would cost over £2000. So I bought 1x bottle of Capt. Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure which is actually a marine derived sealant. It fixed the problem completely & there is still no reoccurring leak 2 months later👍🏻. Jc

Having recently installed seat covers on my car and truck, I commiserate with the effort it takes! You need to be a contortionist to get them on!! My suggestion for the leaky windscreen...take it to a windscreen replacement place and get it reinstalled. Whoever put it in did a crap job. Maybe your insurance will cover it?? I always enjoy you and your Dad working together on a project. It's always good for a giggle or 2 as you interact and enjoy each others company. Good luck with the leak. I'm currently sitting in my house, a thunderstorm booming around me, rain pouring down and 3 pots in place to catch the water that leaks in during these downpours! Lol! It's a good thing my house is NOT a normal house but a rustic cabin in the woods! The leaks will hopefully get fixed this summer (says she to her husband, lol!) Take care!
Hi Brendan, hope you find the problem with the leak near the cab light. l got a leak in the same place on my citroen camper when I was in Portugal a few weeks ago. Check it might not be water mine feels like a of a oily texture. If you find how to fix the problem let me know, cheers Carl.
Suggestion: Add a sink, fridge, circle holes for air con tubes going around the van and a fit-in cooker like in the big table top in the back, I mean like cut out a piece of the table in the back to fit a sink bowl in and a tap. Add a leisure battery that connects to the fridge, lights, etc. Another thing you could add is a cabinets above the table top, as well as a oven hood for the gas cooker. You can store 2 propane tanks underneath too. Oh yea, and also don't forget to add plug sockets and such. :)
I replaced a windshield on my old car and the service center that did it did not seal the windshield properly (they blatantly left off any seals completely and tried to say that was normal). Perhaps try to check the seals are all still looking okay as it could be due to that. Sorry about the leak but hopefully you get it sorted out. The new seat covers look great!
