I'm old school and still use my rolodex file. The older cards are so much sturdier than the flimsy ones they have now! Loved watching you create. Thanks.
I had used a small rolodex for phone numbers we used at home and now they are all transferred into an address book. Now I can reuse these for the scrapplications. Now I can add that to my "scrap" pile and create. Wonderful idea (as always).
What a fun idea! I have pretty stickers and paper and didn't know just what to do with them. You are so right about having all this stuff and not enjoying it. So, off to enjoy my stuff!
It is a coincidence that I just purchased a Rolodex just like yours on the day of this video. This is a great idea to use the cards because I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I got mines at Goodwill. This was a fantastic tutorial. Thanks for the idea. 🌴👍❤️🤗🌻🌼🌴
Oh, WOW, Liz!! I just read where commenter said “timing is everything” and she was right! I’m so glad you found one and I hope you enjoy playing along with me. Happy Scrapplications!! 😊😊😊
Gorgeous music! It’s very nice to understand the Rolodex card process!! From the dates of your mixed media videos, I sense that you are a modern mixed media pioneer in the field. Cat, thank you so very much (TYSVM) for your generosity!! 🥰
Hi Cat. I was so glad to see these come back around. I've been behind trends my entire life. I k now what I"m doing with my scraps bin! Can't wait to share. Creative Blessings!
Tfs Cat❣ I enjoy your videos so much. You always inspire me to use my products. I loved the I DeX cards you did and now the rolodex will be great as well. I look forward to playing along. You know Heidi Swapp has the memory DeX system that is being reinvented this year and she has a toner💥 ink pad so you can play with your stamps and foils. 💃💞
I found ur play list for rolodex cards and I have been crafting for many yrs but honestly never knew this was a thing a few yrs back. Thanx for list and I now understand what u do with them and I'm so excited to do this. My mind is overloaded with inspiration lol.
You can find a lot of similar plastic boxes, now redundant, as they used to be for storing floppy disks of the various sizes. I've been meaning to look your channel up for a long time, Nina Ribena has mentioned you a few times, I love projects that are designed to use up left-over scraps, it's important to me that my art room isn't somewhere that's wasteful.
Thanks, Joanne. It’s a wonderful feeling to create useful things using leftovers that would ordinarily be tossed! I’ve known Nina for several years now.. so sweet of her to mention my channel. I hope you enjoyed watching and I appreciate your comments. 😊
Hello Cat, love your rolodex cards. I have a recipe box with cards in it that I don'y use anymore due to I now have a binder for my recipes. I am going to create using that. Thanks for the idea. Have a lovely day!
Ironic as it is - just today I got out an old round rolodex and decided to give it to the local thrift store. HA, after watching this the old rolodex is staying. I'll play along too. Timing is everything.
I am a little obsessed with Rolodex cards. We still have a vintage metal one in our kitchen with addresses in that we use!!! I have a huge collection in my stash. I am inspired to do this with you. Such a little canvas isn't so overwhelming when you are stressed or busy or brain dead!! I think I will use this to try new techniques. Thanks for the kick start!
Another wonderful idea! Quick, easy, able to use products I already have and small so as not to be overwhelming. Your projects are really helping me in my time of need. Thanks again! Peggy
I love this. I want to make one. I have everything but the scraps LOL.I am just getting started and haven't made anything except a couple of Christmas cards.
Thanks, Connie! Scrape some acrylic paint onto some paper and tear it into pieces - instant scraps! 😊 You can also use magazine images, product packaging, Sunday comics, candy wrappers, etc.
These are like ATCs, Artist Trading Cards that were popular back in the day. It's a small format to try out a technique. I'm loving this! Neat way to use up odds and ends I've been saving forever!
These are amazing! For such a small piece of art, you pack a lot in there sometimes! The green one is basically a perfect little miniature rolodex card, on top of another rolodex card, and made interactive to boot! That's dedication!
I have a Rolodex that I've started doing a few things with, but never stuck with any of them. Maybe, just maybe, this is stick-with-able! Thanks for sharing!
WOW finally you've gave me a use for all of those file cards and boxes that I have! Can decorate the boxes if they are plain! Love this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Love this! I really enjoy decorating business cards, ATC's, ATG,s, and index cards. So this will be delightful. Your cards are fabulous. Love your style. TFS. I did.
I love that idea. Rolodex is on my to do list for months and I can't wait to start using the materiel now that I finally found the punch to go with. (we are lazy to do by hand sometime right) . I love your cards.
Just found a rolodex on Ebay...the kind you have but without a lid. Do you think I need a lid?Maybe I should have bought one with a lid. Love your ideas!!! Thank you so much for sharing them.
I have lost count how many times I have watched these videos of your Rolodex cards as I've said before they are my favorite 😊😊😊 JUST WONDERING IF YOU MIGHT DO HOLIDAY ONES LIKE FALL WINTER CHRISTMAS?? Be interesting to watch 😁
Thanks, Victoria, I’m glad you’re enjoying them so much! Yes, I could probably do some holiday ones, depending on when I do the next cards. I think that would be fun! Thanks! 😊😊😊
I'm starting to think UA-cam is somehow spying on me :D A week ago I retrieved an old rolodex (the turn the cylinder kind) from the donate-to-charity box I always have going. While I don't think I'll make something as pretty as what you've made, I'm going to have fun trying now that I have a few ideas to play with!
Cat thank you so much, that’s really really stunning and gorgeous and they’re so cute. I really really love 💕 this idea 💡. Those you’ve made are really really cute. xxx Mags
I was gifted one of those great big rolodex, the one that spins, complete with cards. I started doing cards and it was a lot of fun, but completely forgot about them. I have so many scraps I definitely am going to do this. How do you get your cards to be so flat and perfect? Mine are not flat!

Thanks, Lisa. 😊 You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch. The one I use is a Crop-A-Dile punch - I like it because it punches easily through chipboard, stacked card stock, etc. Here’s a link for you: amzn.to/2vz2lLH

Audrey Sheldon You’re not being a pest at all! You’re right, I forgot I had used two of Heidi’s mini stamp sets for that card. The one with the hashtag words is in my store now. 😊
Love them all Cat! I had purchased a Heidi Swapp rolodex die...to make cards for myself or to use in happy mail. Also, can you please tell me, where to find the punch that you use to "re-punch" the tiny squares back into the rolodex cards after you've decorated them? I didn't see it on your supplies unless I missed it. Thank you! And you have inspired me to start making those memory dex cards! 🥰 Hugs ❤ Suzy
Thanks so much, Suzy! I’m glad you’re inspired to make some cards to enjoy. 😊 You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch. The one I use is a Crop-A-Dile punch - I like it because it punches easily through chipboard, stacked card stock, etc. It’s in my store, but it appears to have white handles now. 😉 Here’s a link: amzn.to/2vz2lLH

Scrapalicious!
Ember Beck LOL, I love it! 😁
I'm old school and still use my rolodex file. The older cards are so much sturdier than the flimsy ones they have now! Loved watching you create. Thanks.
Thanks, Anna. Yes, everything is flimsier nowadays... The good news is that the thinner cards do thicken up as bits and pieces are glued to them. 😊
I had used a small rolodex for phone numbers we used at home and now they are all transferred into an address book. Now I can reuse these for the scrapplications. Now I can add that to my "scrap" pile and create. Wonderful idea (as always).

Thank you, Peggy! 😊
I'm starting to think UA-cam is somehow spying on me :D A week ago I retrieved an old rolodex (the turn the cylinder kind) from the donate-to-charity box I always have going. A different video I was watching at the time made me think I could do something with them - what I had no idea but something! A few days later this video shows up... hmmmmm. While I don't think I'll make something as pretty as what you've made, I'm going to have fun trying now that I have a few ideas to play with!
That’s TOO funny, Michelle...! Yes, it’s all about enjoying the process, but I’m sure you will make some lovely little cards! 😊
This are so cute. TFS
Thanks, Beeja! 😊
Realy love the idea !!!!!! Good job.
Fabulous series, can't wait to see wait to see what you come up with.

Yayy- so glad you’ll be playing along with me, Alicia! 😊 Using a glue stick, as opposed to a wet adhesive like Mod Podge, helps things stay flatter. But mine do curl and warp when I use wet adhesives, or paint. Here’s one of my Quick Tip videos where I show how I correct it: ua-cam.com/video/lNW46T1qRdY/v-deo.html
Where did you find those cute tiny stamps!!!! They are adorable.
Some are very old and I don’t remember where I got them. Some that I used in this video are Heidi Swapp Mini stamps - they are older, too. I think there are still a few on Amazon and you may be able to also find some on eBay. 😊
Hi Cat, I have a Rolodex box with a few cards in (I don't know where all the others went) I think you could make some out of old business cards. These are lovely mini works of art. A silly question - do you do anything with them, or keep just for inspiration?
Thanks, Elaine! I’m planning to keep them in the Rolodex file - they make me happy just looking at them! 😊
Hi. Can you tell me what tool that was that you used to make the holes at the bottom of the card is. It had a dark green handle. I looked on your supplies that you recommend but did not see it. Thank you.
Love this video/series. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Cathy! 😊 That punch is in my Amazon store, they just changed the color of the handles to white. amzn.to/2Gbmuxf
❤️❤️❤️
Love it! What size are your cards?
Thanks, Rennie. The cards I’m using are 2 1/4 x 4 inches. 😊
These are so cute. Is there a link to the punch you used to make the holes at the bottom of the cards?
Thanks, Lisa. 😊 You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch. The one I use is a Crop-A-Dile punch - I like it because it punches easily through chipboard, stacked card stock, etc. Here’s a link for you: amzn.to/2vz2lLH
Love your work!! What punch were you using to recut the rolodex holes?
Thank you, Beth. 😊 You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch. The one I use is a Crop-A-Dile punch - I like it because it punches easily through chipboard, stacked card stock, etc. Here’s a link: amzn.to/2vz2lLH
Thank you! I have that! It looked more like a square punch. Thank you!! Looking forward to more videos!
Beth Schramm You’re welcome! The original holes on the Rolodex card are kinda squared, but the round punch works fine. Happy scrapplications! 😊
What are the measurements of the rolodex cards you are working on? Thank you!!
They are 2 1/4 x 4 inches.
What is the item you used to punch out the tabs to be able to place the card back into the Rolodex? I’ve never seen that before!
Hi Patricia - You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch. The one I use is a Crop-A-Dile punch - I like it because it punches easily through thick items, like chipboard, stacked card stock, etc. Here’s a link: amzn.to/2vz2lLH
Thank you so much! I appreciate the info and your beautiful work💖
Hi Cat! Could you tell me what the little stamp set is that you used on the fourth card. I couldn't find it in your store. Thanks:]
Hi Audrey - I used a Heidi Swapp Mini stamp set to stamp the word FUN on the tiny tag. I have just put that set in my Amazon store. Thanks! www.amazon.com/shop/cathand
@@CatHand thanks so much:]
@@CatHand Hi again! I was wondering about the set with the little stamp that said, "#love this" and the other small words. Sorry to be a pest:]
Audrey Sheldon You’re not being a pest at all! You’re right, I forgot I had used two of Heidi’s mini stamp sets for that card. The one with the hashtag words is in my store now. 😊
@@CatHand thanks again!! :]
Hugs ❤ Suzy
Thanks so much, Suzy! I’m glad you’re inspired to make some cards to enjoy. 😊 You can use any standard-size (1/4-inch) hole punch.
