It's always impressive how literally ALL the clones are voiced by the same dude.
Yes, that is Kanan at the beginning of the episode. They brought back Freddie Prinze Jr. who voiced him in Rebels to voice him again for the cameo which is why he sounds older than the character is at the point of the timeline.
I absolutely love the fact that they animated clips from Revenge of the Sith in the opening of this. There are three of them, when the narrator mentions Anakin and Obi-Wan rescuing the Chancellor and it's Obi-Wan killing the Magnaguard, Anakin killing the two battle droids holding Palpatine, and Grievous in the escape pod. Those three shots are directly from the beginning of Revenge of the Sith and they animated them frame perfectly, even the two battle droids in the background that run from Obi-Wan, that's in the movie too.
And Caleb is Kanan. They got the voice actor from Rebels back which is why his voice sounds kinda deep. And remember when he was being interrogated by the Grand Inquisitor in season 1 of Rebels and the Inquisitor asked him what his master's last words were, Kanan said "run"
Tech telling Echo he’s “more machine now than man” is a reference to when Obi-Wan said that line to Luke describing Darth Vader.
It’s good to have animated Star Wars back on the chopping block. Great video as always.
Ah Tarkin, the Rebel Alliance's greatest recruiter. Every act he undertook only fed the rebels' resolve, and he was kind enough to die and take the bulk of the Empire's senior military staff with him.
The kid, Caleb Dime would change his name and go into hiding as...Kanan Jarus (from Rebels, baby!)

One thing that was really touching - before this show aired, Tom Kane (the narrator and also the voice of Yoda and other characters) had a stroke which resulted in him losing his voice and potentially will never be able to do voice work again. So hearing this intro and jumping into a TCW style episode was REALLY bittersweet. (Also: baby Kanan!!!! I freaking died.)

Bad Batch apparently serves as a bridge between Clone Wars & Rebels ; my feeling is that at the end of the day (regarding Bat Batch's very ending) it's basically gonna lead to the formation of the Ghost Crew as we know it at the beginning of Rebels, or something in that sense.

The theorie is, that the chips also change the clones' personality. The clones calling them Sad Batch in the canteen also were way more douche-y than other clones

It so interesting to me to listen to crosshair or wrecker voice. I know it’s Dee Bradley baker but he doesn’t sound like a clone at all. Real chameleon with his voice
great episode ,The animation is god tier in this series They actually used real life photography in some of the episodes.. We didn't see them in anything because they're following there own destiny. Like so many other characters
11:18 The Kaminoans knew about the cips. They put them inside the clones when they were still growing and Dooku work with them to hide the truth. You should rewatch the first arc of Clone Wars season six. It is all explained there.
The thing with the inhibitor chips is to do with the physiology of the brain. We see in clone wars that the chip is located in the frontal cortex, where it relates to all decision making and rational thought. With the Bad Batch, they each have enhanced senses, with Echo’s being destroyed in the explosion as well. However, with Crosshair, his mutation was in his eyes, which is the back of the brain, so he’s affected more than people like Tech or Hunter.
Was waiting for this! Honestly such an underrated show, really fun to watch and I I can't wait for Season 2! You're gonna love this

13:06 Those aren’t Dark Troopers, but they are the same type of droids that Thrawn trained with.
These are different types of Dark Troopers. What we see in The Mandalorian Season 3 is Phase III Dark Troopers. These were Phase I, but they could even have been a prototype or something. The ones Thrawn fought were also Dark Troopers, probably Phase I or II.
Fact: it was the same AZ, who was helping Fives in his last arc.

Seeing young Caleb jump across the river reminds me of Ezra jumping onto the Ghost in The first episode of Rebels.

He helped both Fives and Echo, which is very sweet but also sad, since he doesn't remember Fives anymore :(
This was the last time we hear Tom Kane narrating at the beginning 🥺🥺🥺 He retired after he had a stroke. This and Lego Star Wars was the last time we provided his voice for characters.
The narrator at the beginning was a clone wars thing, Rebels and Mandalorian didn't have that and they are older than this show.
Since this episode is basically a transition between The Clone Wars and the new era, it makes perfect sense that this is the last episode with a narrator.
Whilst the show did slow at some points the plot heavy episodes are crazy good for this show and I’m for sure hyped for season 2
I like the animated shows more because you can do more with animation than live action.

@@Сайтамен eh that's not really a fair assessment. They are trying, they just lack the Star Wars storytelling experience and knowledge that Dave Filoni and the Lucasfilm animation department have.

7:55 so there is a reason for that: retcon.
Context, so there is a kanan comic that tells his life at end of clone wars and over the years to meeting hera, and others to eventually Ezra. In the comic kanan and his master were on a jungle/forest like planet, no bad batch and the clones attacked. Kanan ran and snuck onto a civ cargo ship to a city where he lay low thanks to a smuggler. The smuggler took him in mainly to do tasks and utilize his Jedi abilities. He also taught kanan how to be sneaky, not be noticeable and told him fo change his name.
If go “wait retcon? I thought everything since Disney purchase stay the same.” True unless Dave filoni is involved then he has full reign on retconning stuff. Which you will notice in other Star Wars media he works on after this.
So which stuff filoni is involved after this?
Some eps of book of boba fett, tales of the Jedi and some eps of mandalorian s3. So if watch a scene, remember specific info and wonder why is rhat different then good chance filoni is involved and got greenlit to twist things around with it.

Kanan’s backstory was really fleshed out in Kanan: The Last Padawan. The BB had nothing to do with it till the this show. So this is a retcon. Real shame though TLP was the best thing to come out of Marvel in a long time.
Couldn’t agree more. I honestly wish him and Billaba weren’t included here and that they gave their roles to a new, never before seen master/padawan duo. On top retconning previously established canon for no reason, it makes it feel like Filoni’s playing favorites and stuffing all his characters into his shows just for the hell of it.
Not to mention it makes Crosshair look like a complete dolt getting smacked around by a kid. If it was an entirely new pair of Jedi there could’ve been actual consequences. Crosshair could’ve actually been allowed to shoot and kill that padawan instead of there being repeated contrived situations for him to miss. It’d set him up as a dangerous antagonist and not a bumbling idiot.
@@a_fine_edition2746 Exactly they could have been anywhere, with any Jedi. The show would have been pretty much the same. Crosshairs would still report Hunter for disobeying orders. And the rest of the BB would loos their trust in him due to his violence.
@@brucechmiel7964 Filoni just did the same thing with Ahsoka in Tales of the Jedi. He takes it upon himself to rewrite canon whenever he wants just so characters he introduced can appear, relying on cameos.

the only retcon i didnt like they did for this episode that commander styles or grey i think it was color armor wasn't same as from kanan comics which you have catch up on some my favorite series of kanan from his padwan days to rebels
Waiting for you to recognize Kanan from Rebels. Yes it it's same voice actor, which was a bit deep for the kid. Took you a while. You remember that Kanan did not like or trust clones when he first met Rex and the boys.

While this was an amazing episode - my BIGGEST gripe with it is the opening-l with Caleb. TOTALLY changes his story set in the comics- if you get a chance Primate, get your hands on the Kanan Comics if you want more Kanan, and a more fleshed out and emotional version of his story with order 66

Am surprised you went with the Bad Batch to take over The Mandalorian’s time slot instead of going into The Book of Boba Fett. But Star Wars is Star Wars, I can’t complain!
The first season has its ups and downs but overall I think this is the best first season of an animated Star Wars show. It definitely sets up some great storylines and I look forward to your reactions on them

The Mandalorian Season 3 will start airing episodes on February 22. It was recently announced. I really hope you decide to add another day of the week to just react to The Book of Boba Fett done while doing The Bad Batch before that date, Primate.
To really help grow your channel, air your reaction to each new episode a day or two after it's released to favor the algorithms. And not wait the 2 weeks or so after your reaction is originally released on patron. All the top reaction channels do this with new shows that are popular to really grow their viewership. But make viewers still wait on older shows like your doing now. It will lead to more patron supporters in the future. It's like making an investment. The Mandalorian is SO BIG that this is a show you would want to make an exception on.
I love your channel and want to see it grow like some of the other ones I follow. And I've seen and talked with other content creators on what other channels do to make theirs grow.
If you're worried about catching up too fast and too quick, there is so much still coming out soon. The Tales of the Jedi series Season 1 is out. It's another animated series that this season features a young Count Dooku and some Ahsoka back stories. It was fucking awesome!!! That's all I'll say without spoiling it.
The Ahsoka live action series will be coming out soon after The Mandalorian Season 3 is released. We have The Acolyte coming out soon after that which is a live action series about the Sith before the prequels start that features a younger Palpatine and other Sith. And don't forget that Andor is airing new episodes right now and it's about to film season 2 while you haven't even got to Kenobi yet which has 6 episodes.
So much is coming out soon, many shows are filming or in the process of being animated and won't stop so don't worry about running out of Star Wars content as it's going to be pumped out like crazy. Because you can run right into Season 2 of The Bad Batch after you finish Season 1 since they're going to start airing new episodes on January 4.
