- I've already showed the power of the SY-1000 in this video:
• SY-1000 without a GK, ...
But now I've added a Cantini violin with GK-compatible pickup. What more does it get us?

Hi, great review. Is that the Cantini Earphonic "King" ?? And is that the same kind of bridge that comes with the violin??? I see a different bridge on the pics.
Yes, it's the "King Tobacco" finish, and it's as-delivered, so yes that is the original bridge. It looks the same as the pictures on the Cantini website to me so I don't think they've changed it. which pics are you looking at?
Hi!
Great review.
Are you using midi cable to connect to the boss-1000?
The cantini violin can be plugged only to roland gr-55 and boss 1000? Or can be plugged to other midi effects?
Thanks!. I'm using the 8->13 pin GK cable with the Cantini - it's needed to get the extra sounds from the unit. It's not a MIDI cable though - as I explain here ua-cam.com/video/ZIXWjsC2pGc/v-deo.html it can only be connected to a GR-55 or SY-1000. If you want MIDI you need to one of use those units to convert the violin/guitar signal. And with a violin it does not work very well! So, with a Cantini violin you definitely need a GR-55 or SY-1000 and you're largely restricted to what those devices will do.
@@ChrissieCaulfield yep
I get it. Ammm. Thanks! I'm actually more of a traditional pedals kind of type. But I was curious about that midi thing. One more thing, is there any latency when you go through the boss or Roland with that cable he provides?
@@arye_amsalem There's mostly no latency in the unit, or if there is it's undetectable unless you start stacking very complex patches together with several instruments and many effects on them (which I have done!). Even then it's low enough not to be a major issue IMHO. You can hear it if you listen carefully, but it doesn't impact playing
@@ChrissieCaulfield thanks a lot!
So the boss or Roland? Have you tried them both?
