There was an extension planned in the 1960s that would've doubled the length of the lap, but it never fully materialized. The trees that needed to make way for the extension were cut down, but that was it. Look up Lime Rock Mountain Course - the extended version of the layout has been created by modders for a few racing games (Grand Prix Legends and Assetto Corsa if I recall correctly).
A lot of racecars are built to be quiet now due to noise restrictions at a lot of racetracks nowadays. Laguna Seca and Nurburgring Nordschleife are two examples.
@@sheasamuels9320 That makes sense only in principle and that isn't the reason why many race cars are favouring turbos. IMSA has had noise regulations since the 80s.
This track is so unbelievably tight that it's truly amazing that anyone is able to make a pass!
I raced there a few time back in the 80’s...it’s a fun track to be drive, a bit short though. 😎
When the Chicane IRL isnt complete death
Red sausage bits = race end in iRacing Mx5.
Here from Real Racing Next, the track is very cool!
Love how this track is just a few hours away from me only track I’ll go to to watch a race
thanks for the ride. Have fun and Saturday is all right for fighting for position.
I can't believe they hit 115 on that last turn. Daaaaamn
113 through the downhill. Wow.
Little bit of Ascari 🏁
can't believe the 720 is a GTD car. the road car is already stupid fast.
A lot faster on the straight haha. I was doing 150 in the road car but the pros were doing almost 160 in the much slower artura
clean
that back shakane is a rough place where you go from 2 to1. and even the west bend is where there more rubbing
2g's.. twice...wicked
These tracks are too short?
Really nice track, pity isn't twice as long though.
Very short.
It's a very nice layout but doesn't make much sense to me for a track to be so short
It was built in 1956. They weren't turning laps like this back then.

How can I hit this track in this car? I want to set lap records.
Try to bit my best lap in f1 car. 0:34,009 :)
F’ing turbos. Can barely hear the engine :(

Not sure if you're serious. You can barely hear the engine in this video because the audio has been mixed this way due to the narration by the driver.
