- In this video, we visit KTC (Kyoto Tool Company) in Kyoto, Japan where we get a chance to take a look at some of the high quality tools that this company is making. We came to KTC to check out the Nepros line of tools because of their incredibly high quality feel and performance. The Nepros screwdrivers are so well made that we had to check them out and learn about what makes them so great.
While at KTC we did a full factory tour and walk through their museum. Unfortunately, these parts could not be filmed. What you will see in this video is a summary of some of the interesting things we learned about what makes KTC and the Nepros line up of tools so great. KTC spends a lot of time focusing on the customer and the professional. This shows in the details that explain in this video. There was a lot of Research & Development going into all their tools, however, we decided to showcase only some of the more interesting tools that we saw throughout the tour and museum.
What amazed us is that KTC makes most of their tools in Kyoto, Japan from forging all the way through finishing and inspection. This is pretty rare for a tool company to keep most of these processes in house. This aspect is important to KTC to maintain the high level of quality that their customers request.

Im from Canada, and I have a LOT of KTC, and everyone I know used to make fun of me because I used Japanese tools, well I still have every one of them while everyone else has gone through two or three sets lol, I'll stick to KTC for life.
Theres no way i would ever smack the back of that screwdriver with a hammer. They really are a work of art.
Auf einen „Schraubendreher“ würde ich auch nicht schlagen. 😏
@@lukasschmidt50I do but only on new on very clean thing. I abuse the ktc wooden screw driver it still like new
Those screwdriver and ratchet handles are amazing.
Really disappointed u didn't spent more time with those ratchets at the end the looked amazing. Great Tour tho
nepros is insane, pure toolporn !
nepros stuff are the crownjewels in my toolset !
Very happy you went here. I will next time I'm in Japan it's only up the road from Australia. I have a nice selection of KTC Nepros tools been collecting the Nepros for several years now and just love the quality of these tools. Happy you held the screwdriver as they are my next purchase.
Being a diesel tech, I don't use them at work only at home tinkering with my motorbikes.
Your channel is fantastic. I especially enjoy the jobsite videos, watching true mastery displayed by your crew members and your humility and genuine care for the art is refreshing. Love the details and in depth discussions, especially watching the joints built offsite. Mesmerizing. Take care and keep the content coming my friend!
I love KTC, I recently bought one of the roto head ratchets and it's just awesome. I hope to buy a Nepros in the future. Awesome beautiful quality tools.
Thank you for the awesome content on every episode?
Fuller tools out of queens NYC had KTC manufacturer their wrenches and sockets in the 1970s. Really good quality for export tools when Asia was pumping out low quality tools during the 60s to 80s.
They are out of business now
Enjoy your vids mate
Great video!
I wouldn't mind seeing more on the circular saw guides you've been using, thank you!
Damn, each time you do a tool shop video I have to spend more money. Good tools ensure you work carefully, safely and with high precision (and that’s what I tell the wife).
More tool manufacturers and shops please…..
There seems to always be a new design or an improved tool in Japan.
very expensive, but the BEST...
I have a KTC Kyoto Tool offset wrench, so far so good nothing is broken, even though many other brands break quickly. At first I thought this brand would not last long, seeing how light it is, unlike other brands which are heavier but wear out quickly
They would love to hear it! Thanks for watching.
Just curious. What are the brands offset wrench broken?
@@jinpark5324 local brands, and even then they are well known and the most expensive....
However, there is one that is even more expensive, namely the KTC brand, twice the price of my local brand
The technology and will power to get the very best tools money can buy and it certainly shows in the design they have I personally would want to display them not use the because of the beautiful design they have on them 😀👍
Hi sir nise tools
So that screwdriver is kind of like a full tang screwdriver? How does the wood not become loose if you are hitting the handle with a hammer?
I wonder if that
“flathead“ screwdriver would work on a round head (slotted)screw
OH NO !!!!!!! I already spend a small forture with Kurishige after that video,
Now i'm afraid i'll be spending the monthly food bill again on Nepros tool,
They are so beautiful
sorry....
I used to be into regular $#u+, I am much addicted to this type.
👍
What's a song in the end of video 10:00. Thanks🎉
So , did you buy the screwdriver set you were interested in ? ( you didn't mention it in the video ) 😺

Good quality tool but expensive

Someone might have asked earlier in the thread… do they sell tools from a factory store ?? Or do the have any sale point in Kyoto??
Thanks
Check their website. You can buy it on Amazon and see the distributors in your region. en.ktc.jp
Can you buy in UK England
Holy cow theses are nice but 2,000 for a ratchet 🤯
Those are works of art, but don't say Crescent wrench. That is a brand name. Say adjustable wrench. otherwise I am very much enjoying your vids. more please.
I'm glad that he said Crescent Wrench. I couldn't remember the brand name as outside the USA we mostly call it an adjustable wrench. I want to know if these Crescent branded ones are any good?
Lobster is a Japanese brand of a quality adjustable wrench .
@@vicpetrishak7705 thanks
How do you find good used tools in Japan?
We recommend you find a recycling store near you. Type 大工道具, リサイクル in google search. You would find something. Good luck.
@@thecarpentrylifecan you/should you haggle on prices at a recycling store?

Can we say better than Snap-On??
You can try one and let us know what you think!
@@thecarpentrylife I will buy a Japanese Chef knife first. More suited to my daily usage.
@@nopenonein That is also good idea!
Their Koken Zeal line is better than SnapOn.
Of all the Japanese Tools recently viewed on a lot of channels , no one speaks of LIFETIME WARRANTY ! Ratchet pawls having to be purchased in not a plus for these tools !
Who offers a lifetime warranty in the tool world?
