  • At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, "1917" follows the soldiers as they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers, Blake’s own brother among them.

When he said "age before beauty" in the film, I started noticing just how close the two characters were and got very intrigued by their chemistry as friends. It wasn't just him making fun of him or poking at him, it was also the George character saying that he was willing to put down his life for the other guy, no matter how they quarreled. I do not think that was a good way to describe it but I tried and am tired

What a travesty that these two did not get nominated for lead and supporting actors at the Oscars! The film came out here in U.K on January 10th, these two didn’t even register on my radar, but after watching the film twice now, this wed and Thursday i can confidently say they were both robbed of a nomination for lead and supporting actor nominations. The film is one of if not best war films I’ve ever seen, a tour de force in cinematic history!

I can say this film can be watched a dozen more times to suck the cinematic fucking juice out of this goddamn gem.

This was an amazing movie - 10/10 for sure. Absolutely loved it and want to watch it again. I don't normally cry much at the movies, but damn i was crying out loud when watching this one.

I love the comments from the ladies. Professing their love based on virtually nothing. Such pathetic creatures.
