My first shout was an afa in my local Iceland, I'm retained and I can remember shaking like a shitting dog trying to get my kit on 😂 10 years on and the urgency is still there like the adrenaline buzz you can't beat it.
It’s the best feeling in the world!! My first shout as retained was to a “make pumps 6” barn fire... I remember crapping myself 😂 I only served 7 years and its still my biggest regret leaving the service 😢
James Williams I was young and single.. then met someone and we moved away from the station and never reapplied. I then got used to not being on call, I was going to go whole time but I started working for my family business. 😢
@@MultiMb77 at least you know that when your old crew turn out its probably nothing that you haven't already been to yourself especially nowadays I'd say 70% of our shouts are afa's it's nice to see flames now and again though. Thought about wholetime years ago but now I'm in a position with both my jobs where I'm earning more than a wholetime watch manager so I'll take that any day.
James Williams yeah that’s why I made that decision, money drove my mind unfortunately We were a rual station so used to get lots of barn fires, RTA’s and stolen car fires.. however we used to have a few old people’s home around so Afa’s did happen lol What county are you stationed at? (You don’t need to say your exact location 👍)
Eddie Stobart no its closed now and it’s a school. City down to one pump (now a heavy rescue) and a water rescue unit and based close to county hall. City has three stations now at Carrow (replacement for city centre), Earlham (whole time and retained pumps and ALP) and Sprowston (pump and environmental protection unit).
Two tones Every Time. Unmistakable sound ! 1000Times better than perthetic wailing noise.
Spot on, M8
I love those classic two tone sirens

Thumbs up for the Proppa fire siren 👍

Excellent video. Two-tone horns make it even better.
my favourite retro engines
There’s an urgency about the sound of a proper two tone siren. Not replicated in the electronic wails.
Agreed, the Norfolk twotones are
the best imo
Love the Two Tone Air Horns.
This is a digital lift from an old hi-8 video so apologies for the quality but it’s 14 years ago!
Theese old footages are my favourite especially the two tones. Keep it up.
Tbh I think most of us are here for the noise! Lol.
Good ride along.
best twotones also
