- This is a demonstration video of my Casio DG 10 which I bought in 2004 in Daytona Florida on a church trip from my friend Tim Dodd better known as The Everyday Astronaut! Check out his channel here. / @everydayastronaut
Shot with my DJI Osmo.

voo33 what do you think about all their recent 80’s covers?
Me trying to figure out what it was: "Enhance... enhance ENHANCE!"
You could definitely play the original Doom theme with this
hi there ... i just came to see the demo of the casio. but wanted to let you know that you do a good job and i really enjoyed it. cheers!
Nice guitar👍❤
Love it
AMAZING!!! I wish it could be set to "meow"
Mrs. Smith Can you imagine plugging this in to the Korg Miku 😂
You can actually hook it up to anything. It has a MIDI out.
Hey man! Could you please show us how to tune this guitar? Would appreciate it, thanks!
Hey, I don't know if you have one of those Danelectro Electric Sitars/Guitars from the 60s ? If you do, I'd love to see you showing 'em off.
I don't but I know exactly what you're talking about! I'm actually quite fond of Danelectro's so i'll see what I can hunt down and maybe make a video with. Thank you for the idea!
I wonder if you can use actual guitar strings on the DG 10 or DG 20 guitar by Casio? and would it make any difference?
Hey Travis, great video. Got one for my 7th birthday in 1990. Still got it to this day, complete with the box, manual, and original styrofoam and plastic bag. One string broke, but I hear it's an easy fix.
I've been on and off guitar for the last 31 years now, just recently picking up pace again with a Strat. Have been thinking of dusting my DG-10 and giving it some play, for fun and experimentation. Watching your video, I decided to ask you (because of your guitars hung on the wall): how are you supposed to hang this on the wall if I wanted to? Seen a guy putting a wooden tongue depressor under the strings up to the nut on a regular electric headless guitar, but that doesn't look safe to me... Any thoughts on that? Thanks for the video man, keep on rocking!
Me in 1:18 :Um,so......when you start to play?
is there a modern version of this? or do they still make these?
Not exactly no and probably for good reason lol
But if you are looking for a modern expensive but useful tool I would recommend a Moog guitar..
Haha, this is so cool ^^ How much did you pay for it in 2004 and what much does it (roughly) weigh ?
If memory serves me correctly I paid between 140-180 for it and I'd say without the D batteries it probably weighs less than 2 lb.'s if that with the batteries in it's probably close to 4 or 5 lbs.
Is that a Casio dg-10?
Indeed it is! Fun little thing more than a toy but not quite a full fledge guitar that you'd really use live or anything unless maybe for experimental purposes! Makes pretty cool 8 bit video game kind of sounds.
No, this is Patrick :)
Weirdest question, but can you input your own sounds into the DG-10?
not sure about dg 10 but 20 has midi output...
No you can not.
Hello, how do you tighten the cordages of a Casio dg10?
With an allen wrench up at the headstock I believe. I'll double check but since the strings are a tough nylon they've never broke on me or needed to be replaced.
Do you have to plug it in anything or can you just carry it a play it?please can you answer Travis Beck I’m very curious.
L0 0PY if you have 4-6 D batteries you can just carry it around and play no need to plug it in. It makes it heavier though because D batteries are pretty big.
Travis Beck thank you I just wanna say this is a pretty nice video anyway that was off topic thank you👌.

hola afinas de alguna manera está guitarra?
Is there a distortion tone on this?
𝙽𝚘 𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢
Video Game guitar right here
would this be a good guitar for a beginner?
Absolutely not
How do i tune it
How smooth are the strings? Easy like nylon?
They are black nylon!
For me the transpose is really very limited... You sure yours can go 4 frets up?? Or down for that matter??
I'm pretty positive. I'll plug it in again and test it just to be sure!
Actually it goes up 11 tones! I'm going to make an update video to show that and some other things!
Cool gonna test it again.. Maybe something must be repaired in mine.. o.O
Will it actuate from just hammer-on?
Yes and No I guess. Yes it will work if you pluck the string once and then slide hammer-on's up and down that string. Just picking it up though and hammering on a note probably won't work you usually have to have some kind of attack on the string to actuate the sensor.
Oh, OK, sounds like the actuator really needs a bump to get going. Was thinking of transcription use, guess I'll probably try a modern MIDI capture pickup or software first, some of the hammer-on sets are 5 or 6 note arpeggiations, so get pretty complex. Heck come to think of it I can record them on video to write them down ...
Nice yea this thing probably wouldn't be too helpful transcribing things. Have you looked at what they have out there as far as just midi guitar controllers?
Does it have a 5 pin midi port?
Yes.
great video, thanks. what about the action on that ?
Really low close to fretboard easy to play
@@TravisBeckMusic thanks
is there a way to play it left handed?
I’m trying to figure that out too
Stanley
this a work in to days world dubstep guitar lol
Does it djent?
Mega 8 bit djent
iTS SO BAD ITS FREAKIN BRILLIANT..i WANT ONE LOL !!
I got one for sale.
why is every youtube video of this thing just people playing boring runs instead of what it would be really good at which would be throwing it through tonnes of effects and creating something nice and layers with its sounds.
Because it's a simple demonstration video not an original composition featuring this as the main instrument! I like that idea though and could maybe see doing something like that in the future.
Do it :) Would be cool to see! Atleast for me (which isn't very inspiring for you sorry).
minute in and you're still introducing
Ище хрень на которой музыку для денди писали.
Aw... it actually sounds rather terrible. I kinda wanted one, but now that I've heard it it's a miss for me. Just like the Delorean, they were cool looking... but kinda garbo.
HAHA it's so bad. 80's synthesized instruments were so bad but you gotta love them.
Jake D that’s right and at the time I was going through such bad guitar withdrawal that I just had to have this thing for its portability with the giant D batteries 😂
