    Hey, I don't know if you have one of those Danelectro Electric Sitars/Guitars from the 60s ? If you do, I'd love to see you showing 'em off.

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +1

      I don't but I know exactly what you're talking about! I'm actually quite fond of Danelectro's so i'll see what I can hunt down and maybe make a video with. Thank you for the idea!

    I wonder if you can use actual guitar strings on the DG 10 or DG 20 guitar by Casio? and would it make any difference?

    Hey Travis, great video. Got one for my 7th birthday in 1990. Still got it to this day, complete with the box, manual, and original styrofoam and plastic bag. One string broke, but I hear it's an easy fix.
    I've been on and off guitar for the last 31 years now, just recently picking up pace again with a Strat. Have been thinking of dusting my DG-10 and giving it some play, for fun and experimentation. Watching your video, I decided to ask you (because of your guitars hung on the wall): how are you supposed to hang this on the wall if I wanted to? Seen a guy putting a wooden tongue depressor under the strings up to the nut on a regular electric headless guitar, but that doesn't look safe to me... Any thoughts on that? Thanks for the video man, keep on rocking!

    is there a modern version of this? or do they still make these?

    • @theworkingpoorband9034
      @theworkingpoorband9034 3 роки тому +1

      Not exactly no and probably for good reason lol
      But if you are looking for a modern expensive but useful tool I would recommend a Moog guitar..

    Haha, this is so cool ^^ How much did you pay for it in 2004 and what much does it (roughly) weigh ?

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +1

      If memory serves me correctly I paid between 140-180 for it and I'd say without the D batteries it probably weighs less than 2 lb.'s if that with the batteries in it's probably close to 4 or 5 lbs.

  • @animalbeats

    Is that a Casio dg-10?

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +2

      Indeed it is! Fun little thing more than a toy but not quite a full fledge guitar that you'd really use live or anything unless maybe for experimental purposes! Makes pretty cool 8 bit video game kind of sounds.

    Hello, how do you tighten the cordages of a Casio dg10?

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +4

      With an allen wrench up at the headstock I believe. I'll double check but since the strings are a tough nylon they've never broke on me or needed to be replaced.

    Do you have to plug it in anything or can you just carry it a play it?please can you answer Travis Beck I’m very curious.

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  4 роки тому +1

      L0 0PY if you have 4-6 D batteries you can just carry it around and play no need to plug it in. It makes it heavier though because D batteries are pretty big.

    Will it actuate from just hammer-on?

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +2

      Yes and No I guess. Yes it will work if you pluck the string once and then slide hammer-on's up and down that string. Just picking it up though and hammering on a note probably won't work you usually have to have some kind of attack on the string to actuate the sensor.

    • @lr5867
      @lr5867 7 років тому +2

      Oh, OK, sounds like the actuator really needs a bump to get going. Was thinking of transcription use, guess I'll probably try a modern MIDI capture pickup or software first, some of the hammer-on sets are 5 or 6 note arpeggiations, so get pretty complex. Heck come to think of it I can record them on video to write them down ...

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +3

      Nice yea this thing probably wouldn't be too helpful transcribing things. Have you looked at what they have out there as far as just midi guitar controllers?

    why is every youtube video of this thing just people playing boring runs instead of what it would be really good at which would be throwing it through tonnes of effects and creating something nice and layers with its sounds.

    • @TravisBeckMusic
      @TravisBeckMusic  7 років тому +3

      Because it's a simple demonstration video not an original composition featuring this as the main instrument! I like that idea though and could maybe see doing something like that in the future.
