Sims 2
In the Sims 2, there isn't an option for children to invite other child Sims for a sleepover. But teenagers definitely can have sleepovers. This is not a separate event that you can actually plan before hand. If you invite a friend over, after 6pm there will be an option to ask the guest if they want to have a sleepover. If they agree, they'll spend the night. You can do all sorts of activities that aren't specially tied with a sleepover. You can play video games, watch movies together, order some pizza. You can do the classic pillow fight. Even though they rarely sleep, Make sure there is an extra bed available for your guest.
Sims 3
The Sims 3: Generations added a new type of party that kids and teenagers can throw - a Slumber Party. The option for "Slumber Party" only has one dress code: Pajamas! When a kid is throwing the Slumber Party, only children of their age can attend it. Teens can only invite other teens. When the guests start arriving, they'll change into their pajamas before entering the house.
The guests can do practically everything: they can have fun by playing video games, they can take part in pillow fighting. If you have the costume chest, they can play pretend. To make the night even more special, Sims can also tell ghost stories, other Sims will gather around. To make sure everyone is fed, You can order pizza.
Around midnight a message will pop-up saying that it is bedtime and all of the kids will find a spot on the ground, pull out their sleeping bags and go to sleep.
Sims 4
With The Sims 4: Growing Together, now Sims can have Sleepovers. But Slumber Parties can't be thrown by a child. Have a Sim that is a teenager or older to plan a social event. You can set a child to be the host.
When it's time, the guests will start arriving. Some happier than others.
Just like the previous Sims games, you can do all sorts of activities In The Sims 4. Sims can play video games together. During a sleepover, you can get Slumber Party Snacks. This will automatically add a pizza to the Sim's inventory. You can then serve the pizza and enjoy it with your friends.
You can ask your guests to set up their sleeping bags. This will add few more fun interactions. On these sleeping bags, Sims can pillow fight, they can sit and chat there and also tell stories. When a Sim falls asleep in the sleeping bag, other Sims can pull a prank on them. Sims can pop a balloon, prank them by pouring water on their face and pour baby powder all over them. When it's time to sleep, you can and choose the Time for Bed option. Everyone will go to sleep in their sleeping bag.

I guess it was if you wanted more options, like have the extended family come over, or something like two elders invinting all their retirement home friends.
When I was a kid we would have slumber parties and all the kids would do normal slumber party stuff and all the adults would hang together and do their own thing usually involving some drinks and bbq. They wouldn't sleep in the room with us kids or anything but they'd all crash at the house
honestly it's not a bad idea for parents to go with their child to sleepovers with all the weirdo parents there are out there

Growing Together is basically the closest thing we're getting to Generations for TS4.
And it's not even as remotely close to Generations

Technically not a falsehood in real life. I.E The cool kid paying for catering instead of just serving stuff from their pantry and fridge or cheap pizza/Chinese takeout.

Sims can do most activities from their beds in the Sims 2. Not sure if they can do more in the Sims 3 than they can in the Sims 4, but in general it isn't a new thing.
@@juanchirino4900 not sure if I forget the same thing in sims 2 but sims 3-4 bath tubs should also be a "valid chair" or at least sims 3 can use bath tubs as stool of some sort
@@lesslighter Can cooberate that in the Sims 3 they can indeed use the rim of a bathtub as a seat. Even the xbox360 version of the Sims 3 carried this over. But there's less pathing issues in that console version than there are in the PC version when it comes to Sims doing so. For the console version in question you have to have nowhere else for them to sit for them to sit on the bathtub rim. Sometimes they will prioritize sitting on the toilet if you haven't deleted it and it is closer according to their pathing than the tub is.

It looks gross and the "open world" gameplay is awful. Played it off and on for about a month when it came out and never again. Yuck.
Sims 1: The game that started it all, we wouldn't get the other sims games without this.
Sims 2: The most detailed one, while Sims 3 had way more content, Sims 2 had so many details that made it feel so lively.
Sims 3: The biggest and most content rich one, there was so many things to do that you could play Sims 3 for years and you could still find new things.
Sims 4: The most expensive and barebones one, even Sims 1 had more details, plus one Sims 3 expansion is equivalent to 5 Sims 4 Expansions.

@@smilealwaysnatasha3423 Point. Yet you still get more out of the Sims 3 with just a few things installed than you do with everything from the Sims 4 installed. A lot of the stuff off the Sims 3 store was supplementary and miscellaneous decor junk not gameplay stuff.

I have not heard the Sims 4 music in over 4 years now cause I don’t have a computer. This is making me emotional but it a good way. Also 240 simollions for a slumber party? Geez. Talk about inflation. Sims 3 wins.
I know ppl hate the sims 4 (for good reason), but the calendar addition is a really cool UI and QoL feature. Being able to schedule in game so your sims can do those events autonomously is nice! There’s def some good stuff to Sims 4. Wish they were in the older games.

I mean you can do the same in sims 3 the only difference is even if the relationship is not romantic you can ask to sleepover as a friend interaction and as a romantic interaction.

My dream game is a combination of Sims 2 and Sims 3, there are so many good things about both games that makes it hard to choose between both, so why not make a game that combines the two?

Sims 2's attention to detail, Sims 3's open world, and Sims 4's build mode tools. Combine those with graphics partway between realistic and cartoonish and the Sims 5 could be amazing.

I like the idea of pranking them when they’re asleep in their sleeping bags but the realism is lost on me when they go sleep still wearing their clothes and when they’re telling ghost stories. Them telling ghost stories it’s like they’re just telling normal stories, because they’re laughing etc. They’re supposed to be scared 😂 sims 3 wins hands down

Does anyone by any chance know where you can buy the Sims 2? I know it's not available for digital purchase basically anywhere but I've been struggling to find trustworthy sellers of disc copies too.
Also, does anyone know how get the sims 3 to run from steam? Every time I hit play it crashes shortly after the launcher closes. Edit: I can get TS3 to run on my previous computer, which is a gaming laptop; but it won't run on my gaming PC with considerably better components.

Well, I have seen a lot of videos, when people pranked the others the way, it was shown in Sims 4 - with water (just plenty of these videos), the powder or annoying loud. But, it was really rare, when someone draw something on anyone's face. Maybe, because there is no quick reaction of the victim - he doesn't wake up immediately. It's just he sleeping with something on his face and others record this.
Some pranks are very "product of their time" and in general present day people are very sensitive. Just think of the reactions pranks from the Home Alone movies or The Parent Trap that would exist today. There would be an obnoxious amount of outcry that things got taken too far.

I do have TS3 but I rarely play because the rabbit holes really take away the immersion and their cartoony faces that all look the same no matter how much detail you put into them in CAS bug me. I have TS4 but I stopped even trying to enjoy that game at all. It sucks and I hate that I spent so much money buying it and all the expansions (that were available at the time I bought it a few years ago) and was never able to play it for longer than 30 mins without getting bored out of my mind and turning it off.
I would put TS2 in first place because it still looks the best (wtf even was that pizza in TS4?). Plus, in TS2 you can either download a mod that allows children to sleep over, or just invite the child over and use the boolprop cheat to make them selectable and they will stay.
I play TS2 all the time and my child sims have sleepovers and have done all the same activities - even telling ghost stories and sleeping in sleeping bags when one of the kids threw a backyard sleepover which was pretty fun.

I will forever be angry that TS4 added pillow fights in the High School Years expansion pack and only restricted it to teen- elder, then had the NERVE to sell the ability for kids to do it in the Growing Together expansion pack. It should have been coded for all ages since it was introduced. I’m just mad in general they restrict things to certain packs and then sell them again as new content.

The Sims 4 sleepover is so... lackluster 🤡 Like, why are these kids smiling and laughing at a scary story. Even the snacks only being a pizza is weird, like, what about some chips, juice or a bowl of candy? 😭 Sims 3 definitely did it best
I would not do that if I owned growing together. I would have my sims eat gourmet food instead because they fully satisfy the hunger need completely unlike pizza which does not because it makes the hunger need deplete faster…

@Sims2lover2024 I hear that a lot, but honestly I think the Sims 4 is the one that looks ugly. Not in every respect but most of them. And especially when it comes to the base aesthetics vs custom content ones for the Sims themselves.
And there is so much furniture in the Sims 4 that looks like it doesn't exist in real life or at least not in any regular person's budget which makes it very hard to stay immersed in the game. Even comparing stuff like cats dogs and horses they either look terribly unpolished or over done with the Sims 4's cartoonish aesthetic and thus unflattering despite being made in an era of superior graphical definition.
The ridiculous amount of abomination level breeds you can make doesn't help matters. And the retooling of cats or dogs into foxes and whatnot are also beyond lazy and questionable.

Sims 2 wins for best pillow fights, Sims 3 wins for best storytelling, Sims 4 wins for the ability to prank. However, best overall is Sims 3 Generations, because there is just so much added on (also, without Generations, the basegame allowed sleepovers, for both children and teens).
Funnily enough, in Sims 2, if you do not have an extra bed, the sleepover sim will say goodbye in a rude manner, letting you know.
But the creepiest aspect is Sims 4 giving children the ability invite adults, and vice versa! 🤮😳
