As much as I, "dislike" parts forming, I understand there are certain things that just can't be done, but I completely agree with you!! I love it when companies incorporate everything into the actual bots. It's like black blood magic, but as the above comment said, Ocular max/MMC are doing amazing combiners with so little parts forming, it's amazing!! 😂😂
I just got around to transforming the bots for this combiner this week. Seeing this video posted brought me actual relief. Actual emotional relief. A massive thanks goes without saying.
I wish you luck on Dream Star Silverbolt. I've already got mine in torso mode and connected to the other three members I have. It's not one of 'those' transformations, per-say, and more so just looks and feels harder than it really is. The numerous peg/slot points for the wings to body is insane, though, and definitely be wary of the tail fin; i broke half of mine off trying to get its peg lined up with the slot its meant to go into. I look forward to seeing the video in the future.
Seriously considering getting this set of combiners. I love how they look! I love that they don't look like robots on the bottom of the jet. I do sort of wish they had their counterparts colors tho!
I hope they do a g1 paintjob version down the line. Fireflight was always my fave of the team, and feels odd seeing him without his flying angels esque color scheme tbh. The geometry is a thing of beauty though, no doubt.
What is your favorite combiner set? You can even go favorite alt mode set / favorite bot mode / combined mode. I love the color of TFC Poseidon and it's cool combined sword but a few of the alt modes are ugly.
I got them all and tranformed them all into Superion. He's a big boy and heavy. Took me quite a while to get them all tfed into thier lims and whatnot. Only issue I have is with the chest. Just doesn't want to click on. Other than that it's a great combiner.
F-4 Phantom, specifically F-4E (he has an attempt at the nose mounted gun, something the E and its variations have) Slingshot (called SlingShoot in this line) is a Harrier II (wing and nose design is different from the original Harriers)
This set is too shiny and all only the same colour which I think makes it hard to pick out the details. They are hard to look at. Needs more contrast with some matte parts too
I wish third party crews would build toys instead of these gargantuan MP-alikes. I would sell a kidney for something akin to a Titans Return combiner but with good alt modes. Especially the Aerialbots got horribly screwed in that line (as did my boys Darkwing and Dreadwind). There has to be a middle ground between G1 knockoffs and all those MP-alikes hardly anyone can afford.
I agree. MP-scale stuff is where people will pay for the engineering, but I would love more CHUG scale stuff. Legends scale exists but y'know, not everyone likes that size.
These guys are definitely reminiscent of movie bots in that if you have more than one of them in the same shot it becomes an inscrutable monochrome mess
One thing I hate about 3rd party toys these days is that they're either boring G1 masterpiece style toys or overcomplicated messes with very little real play value.

They called him Silverbolt. Emgo has him, but is reluctant to transform him and, honestly, that's understandable.
The jet modes are cool, it's a shame Silverbolt is plagued with issues

he did and it was plagued with issues. he talked about it in the reivew for Top Raid/Air Raid. Not into too much depth but just, issues.
