Have you considered pouring a bucket of water on the slab after it is cut? A guy in the USA does that to show off the grain of the slabs. Could help with sales?
Not for dried, aged lumber slab- might cause water staining. I think you are referring to Matt Cremona- he usually slabs green wood, which has high moisture content, so splashing water on them to see the grain is fine.
