This guy never got his due. Hardly anyone in the states knows anything of him. But I've been a fan since the beginning. They came to the states once in 89 and played a handful of cities. Mine was one and I caught them and it was one of the best lives shows I've seen, including up to now. His raw soulful feel to the songs could not be denied. A true talent.
Dave Fury I AGREE! I live in TEXAS but I'm one of the "few" who were LISTENING to Johnny Diesel back in 88' and 89' because I caught the video to "Lookin for Love" on MTV back in the day and was HOOKED!!!!! VERY UNDERRATED!!!!! Lookin for Love was my "introduction" to this awesome band but when I bought the album titled "Johnny Diesel and the injectors" which I'm guessing was their first? Not sure but it BLOWED me away!!!!! Every fucking song on that album is AWESOME!!!! Stand out tracks for me are "Burn" "Lookin for Love" "Soul Revival" "Don't need love" and "Cry in shame" BUT like I said EVERY track is GREAT and that's VERY RARE for a groups first release!!!! PEACE Ricky Parker 😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎🎸😎
i totally agree you guys. its great to hear that some in u.s. appreciated his work. in Australia here it was obviously his looks, and he was the quiet achiever which made people like me be in awe of his talents. i respected his humility, unfortunately though was yet another thing that made people drawn to him. sO underrated. then he got known often more because of his brother in law still to this day.
yes. so greaT. soooo underRated! this clip i thought was at newcastle concert i went to. its a bit rough but the rawness that oozes from his souL. so genuine ~
Saw Johnny and the Injectors at Rock City, Nottingham, England. back in the day. He was support to The Jeff Healey Band . What a show, he blew us away with his talent. The most underrated Guitarist ever . What a player!!
Oh my god, do you know how RARE and cool this is. this is the best clip ever to be filmed of them, including his solo stuff live. nothing comes close to this, pree release of his album.. for the recod. Mark is 21 years old in this video.
Saw him in Hanover in the Capitol in 1989 (?) supporting Jeff Healey. Never heard of him before - never stopped listening to him ever since. Got the record "Johnny Diesel and the Injectors" the next day, is pure joy, guitar, sax, pounding drums, driving rock songs. Love it. When we visited Australia in 2018 / 19 we unfortunately couldn't make it to one of his shows.
They must be hard livin in WA. But these guys were all hard hitters at this time. Yak on drums, Tatt Dalzel on bass and Bernie Bremmond on Sax and backing vox. Big sound for a four piece.
This is great! Such clear footage for 1988 too. I was a fan from the first album, but this footage pre-dates that, so it’s really special and I hadn’t seen anything like it before. Thankyou for sharing it with us.
The band has the best 80s mullets! Love this song, my favourite on that first album .. amazing how Mark easily transitions between finger picking and using his plectrum .. he makes playing look so simple
I think when he's fingerpicking, he's holding the pic between his first and second joint on the middle finger - that's how I used to do it and it looks like he's doing the same.

Have you guys followed his career for the past 30 years? Some amazing music.
@@rickyparker4552respect mate, love this guy, he has evolved over time but would love to see him return to some raw Injectors noise one day

Awestruck.
That's very much how Aussie audiences were back in the 80s and 90's.

Pity the crowd was bloody dead , no life out there
Until the very end
This song inspired me to buy my first drum kit in year 8 back in 1988. Still makes the hairs stand up on the back of the neck.
This is classic Diesel
Saw these guys at a blue light disco in tha 80s very tight outfit

Great live performance. When are these guys gettin back together?
I second this.
