That's an awesome receiver!! I have a pair of CS-66G speakers from that same era. They are built like tanks and sound great! Take care sire!

Thanks a bunch! CS-66g speakers look way cool! I wanna get some vintage bookshelf 8ohm speakers so I can do Main and Rear speakers but my bookshelf’s are Advent Baby 1’s which are 6ohm so I can’t pair them with my 8ohm Mains.

THAT...is a cool receiver! I love your "unboxing" videos, doesn't need to be vinyl all the time. So your all-in on the vintage equipment huh? That's cool, I would be too if I knew how to work on shit! I like how it has those needles on the front...that's awesome! All that's a nice setup ya got goin' there! 👍🏻BTW, I have 2 more open inputs on my reciever so I need to find me one of those new fangled 8-trac players like you got there...lol

Haha thanks! Yeah I love the look of the old style stereos, I don’t really know how to work on them either, I can do some basic basic stuff but that’s about it. Like I can change my oil in my car but I ain’t gonna be rebuilding a carburetor any time soon!

loudness is treble and bass boost on the limit frequencies works when at night one wants to hear music with loudness increases the lowest in volume frequencies, that are not heard with the loudness off, still a great feature today in new good amplifiers or volume loudness like on yamaha still

one tape monitor for the cassette deck other for the reel deck or 8-track recorder but being a 1980 model it was for the open reel deck , great amplifier but if your technics is burned on one output it can be fixed easily, a matter of changing one fuse or the circuit that burned ,this happens a lot today because people connect their smartphones to hear music but it as a very low output so the volume knob is very high for hours which mades the two outputs literally burn ,first one than the other ,it hapens a lot, i have 3 receivers from pioneer and one from technics all from the 70´s and this one was still a great machine, congratulations ,just restore it if possible or you might know a good technician and it will restore it cheap

I thought it was okay to hook a smartphone up to a 70’s receiver. It isn’t okay to do that? What if I have the phone volume very low?

@@TheVintageNewbie it burns the output of the amplifier if wanting to hear to music loud but that can be solved as an example using a cassette deck to monitorize the input level of the phone

@@RUfromthe40s so then should I have the phone volume low and adjust the volume on the amp/receiver louder or have the amp/receiver on low volume and raise the volume on the phone?

i still use 3 cassette decks per amplifier lot´s of boxes of good chrome cassettes and decks were ofered by friends this talking about high-end models and sound better than cds which if recorded to tape seems to recover some mids and highs and lows to.
