    Hello sir. Good evening. The values I’m reading for Rt and Rxo at the depth of 8804 differ from what is used in the calculations

      Hello Mosorire, the values for Rt and Rxo in Table 3 are read directly from the LAS file which would appear different on the plot due to probably depth shift. Secondly note that the scale should be from 0.2 to 2000 and not 200.00. I agree that the specific resistivity readings from the log should be higher than those used.

      Hello Esra. Cut-offs (shale volume or porosity) are set by the interpreter. It is generally recommended that a 50% shale volume be used.

      Rmf = 6.77 was provided as an input. Rmf is the resistivity of the mud filtrate

    Hi, please when you calculate Rw did u used porosity in water zone or porosity in oil zone and what porosity neutron or density?

      Porosity in the water zone is used in calculating Rw. Some use an average of the two derived porosity values.

    sir i have querry, as we know according to concept resistivity high in coal portion and low in non coal portion but due to some error its showing opposite means low in coal portion and high in non coal portion ,kindly resolve it please.
