      A trike can stay on the defensive or charge full into a Rex and go offensive. Ur also prob dealing with more than one usually. And lastly it has range on the Rex. If the anklo swings there is an opening and the anklo has no mobility it has to turn its head to look at a Rex to swing. A hit from a anklo shattered bones and impairs the Rex for the remainder of its life until it dies. A hit from a trike kills on the spot. Puncture damage on that scale will almost always be immediately more lethal.

    Scientist: *running out of things to say about the T-Rex* “it has two eyes that lets it see in 3D”

    • @mahna_mahna
      @mahna_mahna 4 роки тому +18

      Many animals with 2 eyes do NOT see in 3d. Most herbivores, like cows, for example. They see in a 2d panorama. This is more effective because for a herbivore, you want to see as far around you as possible to watch for predators. Cows have a 300 degree view, seeing everywhere other than directly behind. But they have terrible depth perception due to lack of stereoscopic (3d) vision. But grass is a pretty slow prey, so that doesn't hamper them. But a predator needs that depth perception because it's going to be lunging and biting. They want to sink their teeth into a neck, not air.

    • @j.r.harris5090
      @j.r.harris5090 3 роки тому +12

      Yeah, and 3D eyesight was an extremely rare trait to have in dinosaurs. Most therapods like allosaurus had primitive eyesight and their eyes were small and faced away from the front of their faces,usually positioned in corner of the face. T. rex however had eyes that were facing forward and were positioned above the corners of their snout. Usually when an animals eyes are facing forward they are facing forward for a reason. You know how much different a T. rex skull would look if it had poor eyesight? The eyes would be positioned similar to a an allosaurid, not to mention the video LITERALLY says they are the size of cricket balls (slightly larger than a baseball) you don’t just have binocular eyes just to have poor vision. Judging by the size of the eyes, scientists concluded T. rex could see 6 km away. Keep in mind that humans can only see 1.6 km away

      We actually lived amongst giant creatures and animals. We just exterminated everything that posed a threat to our existence so much that only the smaller ones remain. The only big animals living left are usually living in places where humans are not as widespread.
      So I don't think our world today would be that different, we would just have different animals running around. Most likely smaller sized dinosaurs. Like most current birds.

    This is what I want the Trex to look like in movies, a beast ,the perfect predator capable of challenging even the toughest of herbivores of it's time. Both Anklyosaurous and trike had to evolve thick armour, horns, clubs to defend itself from rex's bone exploding biteforce. And in movies that Spino took a well placed bite to neck and shrugged it off like it didn't even feel that bite

      The movie was hella unrealistic a 6 ton bite force straight to the neck would have been instantly fatal

    T-rex amazing super special magical 3-D vision....you mean exactly like every single other animal in existence that has 2 eyes?

      The Max humans can see are 3 km away. The T. rex could see 6 km away. Their horizon was literally twice as far as ours

      No Excuses when there’s massive open space behind the nostril openings, it’s pretty clear it’s sense of smell was amazingly good. And the brain case of the skull gives us a template of the brain itself, and since brains are generally designed the same way, not necessarily in the same shapes, then we can accurately state things like the olfactory love being very large in T-Rex

      Yeah it's all bs. Dinosaurs were never even real. Most of the bones are fake. The real ones that were discovered are from giants that lived a long time ago and dinosaurs are just a cover up.

    Fun fact the T-Rex doesn't have a loud roar. They actually have a smaller rumble like vibrations for long distance calling to other T-Rex's because they would main hunt at night.

    Honestly, it baffles me how many people seem to think Jurassic Park is a nature documentary rather than Science-Fiction. No paleontologist has ever suggested that Tyrannosaurus rex could only see movement. That's a purely fictional theory that Grant has in the book. It's even stated in the book that the people at Jurassic Park genetically engineered their T. rex to have movement-based vision simply because they wanted it to adhere to Grant's theories, not because they believed it to be part of the animals actual biological makeup.

    When I studied paleontology, my class from TSU went on a 2 month trip to Bishops Island in the Pacific, to study the remaining dinosaurs that still roam. To my surprise, the Triceratops was much more aggressive - if not more so than T- Rex. They were very territorial, like hippos. The T- Rex’s pretty-much kept their distance. Who would have thought ? Anyways - Kudos to the photographers here ! Great Job ! Can’t wait to get all of my photos published ! 😎👍

    At 1:20, instead of saying T. Rex can experience the world in 3-D, I would have said it gives T. Rex depth vision, which means it can more easily judge the distance to its prey and know how to strike.
