@@CliftonHicksbanjo He was inspired by Uncle Dave Macon of Tennessee (1870-1952) one of the first major stars of the Gran Ol' Opry. Troy follows the old style clawhammer technique used by Macon, whereas most of today's players tend to follow Earl Scruggs's style.

He is hes just playing clawhammer where the tune hangs a while not to mention he plays with his left hand (on the neck).
