What’s with all these negative people in the comments?? Bro, quit expecting for answers to be handed to you on a silver platter. That’s exactly what he teaches, finding your own happiness. Just because you seemingly think he’s not happy based off of YOUR own insecurities, judgement and definition of happiness doesn’t mean that he’s not.
Also, quit complaining about his English and his accent. Work on your active listening and comprehension skills.

Mihaly's top 3 conditions for flow
    1) Clear goals every step of the way
    2) Immediate feedback after every action
    3) A good balance between challenge and skill.

These are the exact criteria people use for "gamification." So video games are fun because they automatically put you in a state of flow.

Flow comes a little more easily with cooking that it does with some other pursuits. What is truly unique about fine cooking is that it is both a skill and an art...it is art that happens in the moment. It is transigent, but very beautiful when perfectly executed.

Basically if you are living in present you are in state of flow. Our mind always live in past or in future. If we can bring it in present, the very moment we are living we will be in flow and hence happy. That's what buddha taught, that's how he lived. That's what nirvana is .

I don't know why there are so many dislikes (perhaps the speaker seems an old guy who speaks slowly and in a bit boring way). In fact, this is the best video on the subject which I have seen so far.

That's what the "I'm a UA-camr so I have to cut my videos like I don't need to breathe while I talk" style of editing does to people's brains.
Goddammit, people have the attention span of goldfish, these days. Mindfulness should be mandatory in schools.

That was so helpful for me. I didn't before know I need to build up my skills in a given activity before I will experience flow. I realize I've experienced the difference when learning music (awkwardness becoming flow), now I understand I can transfer it to drawing and have more patience there (I'm in the awkward phase). Thank you.

Alan Edher We don’t know he’s not in flow and even if he isn’t he’s probably over doing all of these presentations. He could probably get the majority of his flow from research and working alone. He may also not like talking in front of large crowds BUT it comes with the job so he has no choice.

To be successfull with the FLOW you strictly have to act in the r i g h t morphogenetic field / sector ! Me personally I reached this goal within "artists business" after n e v e r being the slightest successful in the "f i n a n c i a l (money) biz" ! Simply take a look on what youtr parents and gramnnd-parents were successful in - that may give you a hint what talents are genetically present in you !

This guy doesn’t even sound like he practices what he preaches. Just an observer. Not to mention having to engage in something to be happy is almost like avoiding the problems causing unhappiness. Just some criticism.

The Divine Comedy 1320, by Dante, is stolen literature from "Resalat Al-Ghufran" that was written by the Arab poet Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Maʿarrī (December 973 - May 1057). after Dante wrote his book not a single reference to where he got from. surprise surprise.

Just finished reading his book. Flow. I learned a lot about human consciousness. However there’s not much there about happiness. It’s pretty much about seeing as a series of games and getting fully engaged in them.
At the end of the day you have to see where the advise is coming from. And this guy doesn’t seem particularly happy. It must be quite terrible if you believe that you fully understand happiness but can’t muster it.
