Good Morning! Badger is one animal I've never caught. Not a lot of them in my area. It's kind of strange though, because just 30 miles or so away, there's a lot of them.
Good Stuff, Brother Thanks for sharing the cable sets. Here in PA we can only use restraints and no entanglement. Hope to see a few yote in the upcoming videos. Have a BLESSED day.
I don’t plan on big catches actually. This is spring trapping. The coyotes are few right now and I’m only trapping a small area. It’ll be a waiting game right now.
I've never personally trapped for badger, but my Granddad who used to trap the prairie of central MT told me that he often found winter and spring badger by looking for their plugged holes just like that. He said the open holes were lower odds in the winter because they probably weren't in there and they didn't move a whole lot in winter.
@@admjlw Maybe, here in Idaho they don’t fill their holes in. I usually go by belly drag marks if it’s an active den. It will be interesting to see what’s in there. Also I notice badgers usually dig around food sources like ground squirrels or gophers. There is a quick way to find out if you have a five gallon bucket and water, 😂 but be ready, they come out with an attitude. That’s usually how I get rid of them. I’m also wondering if it could be rock chucks by the size. They do hibernate and backfill holes.
You’ll be surprised on the next 2 videos. We had 2” of rain yesterday. On the other side of the ranch there’s still a couple inches of snow. From one end to the other end of the ground is completely different and I deal with different conditions.
Great looking sets brother! Cant wait to see that badger!
Good luck with the badger my friend!

Hey Paul I thought trappers always had a drill LOL
Looks like a great spot!
With all of the traps that you have out, it should be some good catches coming up.

@@montanawolftrapper8666 shows how much I know, none lol. But I'm learning as I watch your channel.
@@stingray8585 coyotes are paired up and should be bred. Territory is tight now so I may catch 4-6 total in about 2 weeks time.

I’ve never seen a badger plug his hole. To big hole to be a gopher but With the water there I was thinking muskrat. Be interesting to see what it is.

Paul do you think coffee filters work better than wax paper? Or is it just easier to use for pan cover .
No they work the same they are just easier like you said
New location or the snow took a beating?
