They were super fortunate to be blessed with both Jukka and Kai…two phenomenal drummers who melded so perfectly with this phenomenal band and Kai is in Beast Mode in this song🤘
@@joelyjamzthe stuff Kai does for Wintersun is waaaaaay harder. There wasn't another drummer on the planet more qualified to take over from Jukka when he had to retire from Nightwish due to chronic insomnia. They were good friends, and Kai taught Jukka some Jazz drumming for "Slow, Love, Slow", so it was a no-brainer.
We where there with about 25 people from The Netherlands and Germany, front row ofcourse. If you a tall bald guy, that's me. Also had a little chat with Kai and Jukka at a pizzeria at Vaasa a few hours before this concert. They did a little meet and greet for everyone there.
Even with Nightwish taking a small break, we still have Floor doing Wacken solo next year, philharmonic orchestra doing NW's latest album, half of NW doing Auri shows and Kai doing solo shows called "Alone", sometimes with his drummer son. That will have to do until they get back.
I was at this concert, right next to the fourth security guard in the video, so quite far back but with a direct view of Floor the entire time. It was my first Nightwish concert, just in the nick of time before their hiatus, and a wonderful experience!
Hi. I enjoyed watching your reaction. This was an awesome show and I was lucky enough to be there. If you want to see Kai doing his magic behind the drums live, you must go and see one of his solo shows on his 'Alone' tour in 2025. He will be in London on the 31st of March!
Very warm memories. I took my little brother to Vaasa to see Nightwish live for the first time. We were close to first row, met some nice people while waiting. Gig was amazing. Especiaclly hearing Sahara live for the first time myself. It was such a blast. And that ending with the drums is so fn good.
Definitely one of the top five drummers in the world now. One of the few who can and will carry a multi national solo tour just on drums (including a London date btw). I never thought about a drum iso video for this song before but it was yet another powerhouse performance. 🔥🤘🔥
Hello from Nightwish Army Sydney Australia. I sent the standard GLS Wacken 2013 clip to a drummer and titled it Hard-working Drummer. Might have to send this one too.
If you like Kai's drumming, you really need to check out his playing for wintersun, which is a lot more complex - there is an incredible video of him playing their song "Sons of Winter and Stars" at a drum clinic.
Great to watch Kai's playing. There is another great finnish drummer, who has playing in Wintersun (just like Kai) also, but plays nowadays in finnish band called Stratovarius. Please check out some Rolf Pilve drum cam video, example"Unbreakable" (especially last 2 minutes): ua-cam.com/video/DXsdyTuwX2Q/v-deo.html
It is REALLY weird to see Kai playing something so chill. Seen him live with Wintersun and Rotten sound so many times throughout the years i'm used to him just going nuts on every song. Only time i've seen him chill was one of his clinics where he was doing jazz stuff a lot.
Hey! Nice video, really enjoyed it. But could you please mention and link the original video and creator in the description, thanks. I'd really appreciate it 🤘🏻
You should look and listen to their song/show The Greatest show on earth, it's about the birth of the earth, its evolution and goes in several chapters (text/subtitles on!). It's amazing..... 👇👇👇 🎼 Nightwish Live in Tampere 2015 🎶 The Greatest Show On Earth 🎶 High Quality It's based on The book 👇👇👇 The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution is a 2009 book by British biologist Richard Dawkins, which was released on 3 September 2009 in the UK and on 22 September 2009 in the US. It sets out the evidence for biological evolution, and is Dawkins's 10th book, following his best-selling critique of religion The God Delusion (2006) and The Ancestor's Tale (2004), which traces human ancestry back to the dawn of life.
Jukka was a good drummer, but Kai is a force of nature to be reckoned with. No doubt I stand with him being the more creative and technically superior drummer.
I also prefer Kai's playing, but on the other hand... I prefer Jukka's drum "composing" or how do you say it. The perfection is achieved when Kai plays live a song where Jukka was the original drummer.
Don't forget Jukka Nevalainen was original drummer of Nightwish and all Kai does is copy his drumming...Kai is absolutely great drummer but he told when he joined band that he was amazed what Jukka had played
Wrong drummer, this guy did not write this drum line, this is from a long time ago and the actual drummer is jukka from finland, one of the best drummers ever, very creative with time signatures, this drummer on the albums he is drum writer on does not do the amazing things jukka does, but the band nightwish really ended when they fired tarja the singer and that was like 20 years ago.
Very poor interpretation by him! No where near the quality, emotional expression of Jukka! The bands music quality is no where near what it was 10yrs ago....
A massive thank you to @anttikangasaho for allowing me to use this video and uploading it. :)

This was a special gig for Kai - it was in his hometown Vaasa
Ahhh not to far to go then
A very special night for us living in Vaasa ❤🤘🏻
Soon he play 2 Alone gig in Vaasa. I saw his Alone gig here in Helsinki Apollo Club.
