  • I review the disaster epic The Core. Releases in 2003 and directed by Jon Amiel. Stars Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Delroy Lindo. I remember that this was the first movie I ever watched on Netflix’s brand new streaming service.

You could make a video on how to easily make a bar of gold from a single soda can, and there would still be dislikes and people complaining about sound levels, editing, too many ads, etc. Just how some people are.

I didn´t dislike the video, but this is not a review. This is a recap! He basically just tells the entire plot of the movie point by point with minimum effort on what he personally thinks about the movie and almost no focus on the technicalities and filmmaking. I like his humor, but otherwise, I´m sorry, I can´t give this video a thumbs up.....

This is easily my favorite disaster movie. You can definitely see the weaknesses, but something about the cast and the idea is so much fun. Also, that last line from Stanley Tucci's character was the realest. Guilty please, undoubtedly!!

NewBee: The bad science will hurt
2:55 The "Not so" special effects hurt me way more. I swear that why Bruce Greenwood's character died first. When he became aware of how crappy the movie he signed up for was going to be, he wanted out.
I watched this thing with my mum on holiday. We were laughing throughout at the bad effects, the wooden acting and the bad science. The "Unobtanium" alone had us howling.

Yes, bad science, but I had a good time watching this. Everything doesn't have to be Citizen Kane to be entertaining. See 1980's Flash Gordon for a great camp movie with a killer soundtrack.

If the magnetosphere of the earth collapses, pace makers, birds, and maps not eorking is the smallest problem.
The sun would instantly start stripping the earth's atmosphere away and bombard us with so mich radiation, well liklely die of burns before we die of radiation sickness.
    Sure. Its not instant.
But the dangers shown or mentioned in this movie are miniscuel compaired to the absolut distructive power of sunlight, kept at bay by our unusually strong magnetosphere.
The fact mars doesnt have that magnetosphere is the main reason it cannot be terraformed.
    Period.

The Core is a Brilliant film fun flick that don't take it self seriously nice interesting story with famous actors at the time. Ok CGI isn't top notch but i have seen a lot worst for this type of film and with bad acting. Its one of these films that takes homage to the classic films like Journey to the center of the earth 1959 The time machine 1960 Fantastic voyage 1966 At the earth's core 1976 First men in the moon 1964 . Obviously this guy don't understand what type of film this is trying to be and successfully it done it . He only quotes the up to date films from the 2000's (BORING) Go back to the classic films then you might learn something to what a classic film is. We need more films like this a WHAT IF type sci fiction movies. May be we might get a black hole type film slowly moving towards the earth and some how built a ship to go in side to close the hole lol but you get the picture. What this reviewer did get right was his name the newbee reviews

Many annoying things in this movie especially how birds lost direction just because their homing capabilities got messed up. They can still see goddammit. LOL. And also i still wonder how they plan to get back. Their craft rely on gravity to move to wards the core and i cannot see any means for it to crawl out. Is riding the magma flow from the explosion the plan all along, if so, how do they plan to get out when stanley tucci's character proposed to abort the mission, cancel the detonation and go home? But i still like it. I like the premise a lot. Also hilary swank look so good in this movie.

    • @brajeshsingh2391
      @brajeshsingh2391 2 роки тому

that's the point. I think the movie just stuck to its idea and ran with it. But the execution is tacky or amateurish. Also the tone of the movie is rather bland and the acting is poor. There is just no drama. Of all the actors only Stanley Tucci is the one who nails his character. But a guilty pleasure with an impressive concept. I give this a 6.5. There was recently a movie called Moonfall but Moonfall presented its idea with more sophistication. The Core has an idea like Moonfall, in fact a better screenplay as it really tries to incorporate all the ideas and capture all the concepts correct or incorrect. It begins impressively but thereafter neither does it have the budget nor the sophistication that Moonfall had to make a strong an impression. It does however sticks with its idea till the end.

Is the Unoptainium's properties really that unbelievable? I mean transformation of energy happens all the time. Car brakes work by converting kinetic energy into heat energy, wind turbines use kinetic energy and turn it to electrical energy. Thermal-couples use two dissimilar metals to turn heat energy into a detectable electrical energy.

The mantle is solid clean through it can creep like magnesium on long time scales. The outer core is not liquid like water it is liquid but its liquid like copper wire. It flows but if you smacked it with a press tool it would break. In real life if you beamed a sample of outer core to the surface it would violently explode as the iron reverts back to its normal structure and then it would vaporize.

I watched the movie... it was terrible, you should have nit picked the hell out of this, remember when the guy that built the ship go's out into a EXTREMELY hot part of the ship and sacrifices himself for the others, 100% his shoes souls instantly melted off and he walked over to the lever and didnt instantly colapse from the pain, his suit was heat resistant but not nearly enough to withstand the heat that he was supposed to take, so the suit pretty much shouldnt have helped at all. :^ seems legit.

Also doesn't account for the pressure. Then again the pressure would have crushed anyone outside the ship and that's assuming the ship itself really could withstand it.

Yeah, I was really surprised by this movie. I was not expecting it to be a B grade movie. I was expecting it to be on par with Deep Impact or the like.

The only good thing about this film is the 30 seconds to mars ending song. Love it!
