  • The HoonTruck has been in the shop for a bit lately. That's because we're tackling a bunch of fixes at once. It's time to upgrade the stopping ability, remove the vibration from the driveshaft, and fix a few other odds and ends.
One of the largest upgrades we're looking at is the swapping out of the front drum brakes, and replacing them with front disc brakes. We are using the full front disc brake conversion kit from Master Power for this one.
Go here if you want to check out one for your own vehicle: www.mpbrakes.co...
Besides the brakes, the entire driveshaft has been fixed and upgraded. There's a new center carrier bearing and we've swapped in Spicer u-joints.
Click play to see all the other stuff that's been done as well.

"Older than dirt". That's me. And I've found, and this vid just proved, doing it right the FIRST TIME is infinitely preferable to re-doing it. Over----and over. And in the case of that brake light switch southern engineering is DANGEROUS. But messing with old vehicles you're gonna find a lot of that "southern engineering". Did my share. Paid the price. And LEARNED. Interesting series. Gonna keep following.

Those brake lights should be activate from a pressure switch mounted on the master cylinder. Not a switched mounted to the brake pedal itself, I've got a 66 F100 and a 54 Galaxie and they both work in this manner for activation. And from 62 to 66 most f100 parts are interchangeable. Hope that helps and am loving the videos on the F100

Are those steel brake lines going to the wheel cylinders when they most certainly should be flexible hoses!?

Love this truck. Awesome job to Rick and his guys and gals! What an amazing experience for them....would it be weird to have a 37 year old in your class?

the hoist arm at 1:12 on the passenger rear is barley even touching the frame. how has it not fallen off the hoist?!

good to see Rick on camera, we've heard about him so much from the podcasts. He's a pretty picky bastard though ... doesn't believe in zip ties and electrical tap as fasteners, what's up with that? He's no racer then!
