  • The GWA “Canes for Heroes” team give an update on the canes being made for disabled veterans. A PowerPoint presentation on the history of the project is followed by a demonstration of the current processes being used.

    As a disabled vet I thank you!
    I've turned my own canes for my own use and for a few other people that requested them.
    Now that I'm in a wheelchair the cane is hung on the back of the chair.

    how thick are your boards please get back with me i have asked q here before and did not get and answer

      We start with boards around 1 1/8 thick. I like to keep the canes around 1" when finished to give them strength. We have made and donated over 1,000 canes to the Atlanta VA and I'd feel awful if someone got hurt.

      I know what you mean I am using dowels and cuting eagle heads out of 2 ih poplar they turn out pretty good thank yall I like your videos they have a lot of information bless you guys keep up the good work
