Tom Lehrer: The Hunting Song (studio orchestra) (1960)

- The first part of the video (my signature slide) is overlaid by the final bars of "March On, Bahamaland", which I played on my keyboard.
The main part of the song is one of Tom Lehrer's studio-recorded songs with orchestra, "The Hunting Song". It is one of four songs recorded with Richard Hayman in 1960. But I obtained the actual music from the box set, "The Remains of Tom Lehrer", which was released in 2000. Enjoy.
And the last part is the main theme of "The Phantom of the Opera", by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Simply the 'cherry on top', and my personal song.
Here's the description Tom Lehrer himself made about the song: "During the hunting season one finds countless items in the news concerning individuals who have shot other individuals under the impression that the latter were deer, rabbits, squirrels, or other fauna. This song is written to herald this encouraging new trend in a grand old sport. [Not only have my views on hunting not changed since I wrote this song, but it is equally bewildering to me that evidently there are grown men who take pride in their ability to outwit a fish.]"
Sorry I gave so much information about the music earlier. I don't want to get screwed by stupid WMG again. They are a bunch of arse-holes. And to make sure I am not screwed, have them read the following credits:

I am 85 years old and can't get enough of Tom Lehrer songs. The man was the Albert Einstein of laughs. In 2023 we could sure use another Tom Lehrer, but he was an original so we just have to keep listening to him. Thanks youtube for all the Tom Lehrer songs.

@@mrhitech6742I swear there’s some connection with them
The intro chime is a crime against humanity.
And it's on every. Single. Video. For God's sake.
LOVE IT! I grew up listening to this in the 60's. So great you did this for people where English is their 2nd or 3rd language. Bravo!
I feel bad about the cow. Loved the rest.
rip cow
teehee
Sometime in 2220 they'll go for a dive into the archives, recover Lehrer's vids and conclude that he had a regular TV show and a Broadway gig.
yo this is a bop
What shocks me more is that he thinks the permit getting revoked was bad....Just out of curiosity, anyone know what the game limit on Hunters was @ the time?
Six, and you could only use AP rounds on them to ensure minimum suffering.
@Rocket Powered -- Thanks. For the life of me, i couldn't remember what the limit was...
There's no limit, actually, as long as they're insured. They're an invasive species.
I hope you're kidding

ha ha this song is underrated.
lots of instruments on this one
Yeah, it's odd hearing more than just a piano. The last time I heard him with more than a piano is Pigeons in the Park haha
One of my favorite songs! One of my favorite composers! Here's my ukulele rendition, recorded today: ua-cam.com/video/QxMc8jjvj-I/v-deo.html

This song is perfect if one of your secondary languages is American!🤣
American isn’t a language. English is, though

Shamwow Gaming no your not your not quite a year off
Pathetic, Alexander Shekhtman ruins the clip by tagging the beginning of the video with his intro on a product he had nothing to do with.
