Ben, amazing work! I'm just starting my first layout and looking forward to the scenery aspect. Wiring is another story (not my forte and most of the videos I have watched got way to technical/detailed for me to grasp). Perhaps you address this in a future video but I'm curious if all the lighting runs off the same 'main bus' or different voltage/lighting main so you would have a bus for the track and one for the accessories/lighting/etc?

Hello, for all my lighting on the layout I have used Woodland Scenics "Just Plug Lighting System". If you go to their website (www.woodlandscenics.com) you can see helpful videos of how the system works in more detail. I am like you - Wiring is not my forte either, and that's why I chose the Just Plug wiring system. It is very simple to install and use. All the lights run on their own system (they are not connected to your transformers or power packs) so there is no need to worry about overloads, what size of wire to use, voltage etc. etc. It's worked great for me and I think you'll like it too. On the downside, their stuff is a bit pricey, but if you want the wiring done right and easy, it's worth every penny. I now have 52 lights wired using the Just Plug system and have not experienced one single problem. You mention you are starting your first layout...congratulations!
